yep, thats what i wanted to try right now😀
will report.
transfer an octave into ms...🥳
and.... could we have the filter pre/post feedback? 😁
is the xfeed button putting the filters in series(if stereo)?
Maybe in the future, but I think it's way more fun in the feedback loop
Yes, kind of, for example by setting the InputRouting to L, turn on Crossfeed and turn up only Feedback R you can put the whole thing in series Or vice versa using R and Feedback L. I thought I made a preset to show this, but it seems like I need to add one in the next update.
EDIT: You can download the preset here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/h74gifika55qbeky6bai0/RoutingInSeries.gsdsp?rlkey=1lvhpmkjrpaot75qc0boe7cq7&dl=1
crazy. that's cool. so having input at L+R makes only the filter in series then?
what this kind of modulation screams for, and what i personally often miss, is a send(s) knob(s), like you would automate delay into feedback dub style.
i kind of can do that with a daw.
but with that modulation system it would be much more fun.
that kind of can be done with the filter🤦🏻
No, actually the filters are always parallel, but the routing described puts the left and right paths in series. Would be easier to draw than to explain I guess..
You could use MMM or MMMm to control the send of your DAW 😎 Maybe in an update we could make the Input Level modulatable though, sure would be fun!
Only had a short explore so far, but can someone please tell me what the difference is between a LFO and a 2D LFO? Just the shapes? I don't get the 'dimension' aspect of it
you still can waste the filter (one of them) as on/off or send
A "normal" LFO only has 1 value at a time while a 2D LFO provides 2 values, 1 for the X and 1 for the Y position. It probably makes most sense when modulating a 2D control like the XY Pads in the Magic series, but it's also a nice way to break with traditional modulation patterns and use things like the LorenzAttractor. Try using the X-Axis on the Fine parameter for example
If you look over towards the right of the mod section you will see that the 2d lfo has 2 possible sets of destinations, one modulated by its x axis movement, 1 by y axis movement, pretty cool!
Or that! See? Where there is modulation, there is a solution
@gsdsp @Gavinski thanks for the info guys, keen to play around with the 2D LFO properly later on tonight
really loved the sound of the delay when I was testing some presets earlier. Chaos Artifacts by Databroth was giving me some flashbacks!
Preset “Explore - FireAndForget” uses the Lorenz Attractor. X assigned to Frequency, Y assigned to Feedback. Watch (and listen) how the movement then is correlated as the “butterfly wing” flips the side
@phraemer cheers, that sounds like a great way to see the 2D LFO in action. will check that out first thing
I feel like this app might be the gateway drug into the world of GSDSP, had held off previously due to price but am already very impressed with this one and curious about the others
no, i was too quick. the filter is post feedback, so its not possible to use the filter cutoff as send.
therefore it would have to be pre feedback.
or make the input as modulation destination.
easiest solution maybe.
at least until cv range
No, you were right. Set the filter to Lowpass, turn it all the way down and use a 24dB/Oct. Since it is in the feedback loop there is essentially no wet signal anymore. So yes, you can use the Filter as an on/off switch
yes but not as send. the delay gets send just short to the feedback. then its only dry again (50dry/50wet, as insert) but you still have the feedback going on from the point you "send" it to the feedback path.
Ah, yes, of course... Next update you can modulate the Input Level
double
I want their next effect to be an inharmonic ringmod or frequency shifting madhouse
👍
i want a rainbow coloured unicorn.
🦄
The impossible is done immediately, miracles can take a little longer
how do do fix the wet/dry behaviour then?
Got the chance to properly play around with it last night and create some patches of my own. It’s excellent, and insanely powerful for the price. Also pairs well with another new release Secta.
Great work @gsdsp
Fix?
Thank you @HotStrange
