Yeah, as far as I have read that's not an official Korg post but I hope it's true. Fortunately I own both e2 and e2s so it's great having 32 tracks flowing but I would welcome an official OS switch. Can never see me doing it otherwise
I did it, works great. Really nice having both in one, even though some of the sample locations have issues on the e2 still.
Cool. It will be interesting to see how this develops.
I think it's just a hack to be honest, nothing more. The only person who has ever even hinted that this coming is James Pullen, and some of his other facts on the electribe have been a bit hit or miss in the past.
I think a lot of people are reading too much into this, and interjecting their own wishes as gossip.
Ah well, it was fun!!
I swear there was an official post from Korg on FB. Maybe I'm just stupid. I'll look for it and if I can't find it, sorry.
Well, I'm stupid. I didn't read carefully enough and it was just someone posting what Korg SHOULD say in a press release. Sorry for being a dumbass.
Edited: because I was sick and sounded like a total jerk.
I've the same doubt
The Rytm is amazing but in a totally different price bracket!
I know!!
I want a drum machine that is the most complete possible, because it will the rhythmic base for my next compositions and Live Exhibition. I was thinking to Elektron Rytm, but I would not spend 1400 € and find out after the Electribe 2 is competitive with RYTM
The Machinedrum UW is a pretty amazing box, IMO way more flexible than the Rytm.
Have you tried the 1.30 Rytm update and the new trigs stuff? They've really transformed the machine, it's a total beast now.
I wouldn't buy at this point..Beathawk is due for a new update.. It seems to be more solar to it than Gadget is.. I think the new Beathawk's gonna kill it . I ordered one six months ago but cancelled. There IS a way to link patterns and the WAS a noticeable gap between them but this was fixed in an update.
Yes, Elektron was showing that in advance at Ableton's Loop event last fall. Definitely a nice update.
Free os v2 from korg
It is new again :-)
Nice. Just bought a sampler. I sold my E2 lasts year. Undo is welcome!
Pattern chaining is most welcome and well done too.
Too bad UNDO breaks the following:
SHIFT + LEFT (delete character when renaming stuff)
SHIFT + LEFT (menu navigation)
Better than nothing )
Also... faster sample load/write time
That I LIKE!
Trying to learn more about this but can't find anything. Can you share a brief version of how it works? Are they saveable? Editable? Does it still have the old choppy transition problem it had at launch?
The gap is there under certain circumstances when switching patterns.
The way it works is that you select your pattern and tell it what pattern you want it to go to next and how many times you want the current pattern to repeat before changing to the new one. Then on the new one you do the same which means you can send it back to the first on to repeat the whole chain or have it off to leave it repeating on itself or send it on to a new pattern in the chain. Hope that makes sense.
Perfect sense. You could use it to make songs but it's really about longer patterns. Or pattern chains, just as they've gone and called it. Excellent news.
Someone at GS took a photo of the chain page in the manual.
