Honestly, it does not compare well to the finger drum options available in GarageBand. Installed it, tested it, deleted it.

Yeah - I didn't even bother to download it. But someone might like it...

    Korg apps on sale!

Looks like the IAPs are on sale as well.

Sale Period - 2024/4/1 (Monday) to 2024/4/15 (Monday)

    Yes sir.

Oh yeah! IM1 is now AUv3 if you did not see that already. Cheers!

I just can’t work out if Gadget is worth it. The instruments look cut back and I’m not sure about the interface/sequencing approach. I’m sure I’m wrong as there seems to be a lot of fans. Tempted to nab it while it’s on sale again.

I’m not a fan, especially with the main synths becoming AUv3 now. I never use it because of the interface and approach. Module is bad enough, but some of the instruments are really good and worth putting up with the interface for.

I didn't bother with gadget for years as wasn't bothered about their packaged studio setup. Bought it finally when it went to AU - worked out a couple of quid per synth at sale price. Haven't regretted it, but still haven't opened the actual app to do anything other than purchase gadgets 😂

  • Thanks @RonnieOmelettes and @FruityLoop . I think I’ll hold off. Need to pay some attention to Nodes instead I think.

It's one of the very few DAWs that I'm still enjoying to use, after years of owning it.
To me it's still the quickest way to capture ideas, I'm mostly using prests and REX loops in "Stockholm".
As always, it's hard to recommend a certain DAW without knowing personal preferences.
Gadget has a pattern based composition style and audio recording is possible but not comparable to a linear DAW.

Just try the free Gadget 2 Le version!

Thanks RS. Yes these choices are always personal. Will try the LE version again to see if it clicks. Glad it works for you. As long as the music comes out, we must rejoice!

Thanks @RonnieOmelettes and @FruityLoop . I think I’ll hold off. Need to pay some attention to Nodes instead I think.

I really need to get around to looking at Nodes properly. I pre-ordered it but have only opened it for about 5 minutes. 😬

    Dear friends & forum members,

It’s already the end of the 1st quarter of 2024, so I wanted to share this quick message. As many of you know, I dedicate a decent amount of time and effort to curate and maintain the yearly “iOS app sales and discussion thread.” It’s been a labor of love, so it’s good to know this thread has been beneficial to so many forum members. In order to continue this work, I would like to humbly beseech your support. (I’ve always wanted to use that phrase, lol.)

If you are able to provide a donation, it will go a long way to ensure the thread keeps going strong. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Paypal is the preferred option but either method will work. Special thanks to those who help, and provide information to the thread. Thanks for your time, I am deeply grateful for the support.

PS. Don’t miss all the great sales currently going on.

    Sincerely,

    Chris aka PoppaDocRock

Indeed, I've been blown away by the updates. Just need to spend more time with it and get used to the paradigm. Amazing app.
