Yes, It sends midi out, but there is no standalone version, so it must be used inside a host/DAW. Then you can send that midi out anywhere relatively easily inside a host like AUM, etc…

The one thing I always liked about axon 2 was the ability to use it as a sequencer if you wanted. They stepped up axon 3 with the cool randomization buttons. So it’s a synth drum machine, and a sequencer, that can also be played like a regular drum synth with midi in from another app.

Check this video of the randomization in action (see blue buttons being pressed on left hand side) and some of the presets.

And how is this not front page news??? I mean get the excitement over patterning but this video is incredible, I’m surprised people aren’t losing it over this. It’s synth, sequencer and generative drum machine. What am I missing, or overestimating?

It’s like auto fills , was accidentally found by googling Octachron and I would’ve thought the feedback would be louder and much more well received for cems app - anyway….

    Thanks poppa

Just noticed the App Store said intro price until May 10th 2024, so that’s basically a month to grab it at $3.99. Cheers.

Yea buddy, I wasn’t planning on getting this but after seeing a couple vids, and the intro price, I definitely am going to buy it. I also realized it has the random ratchet feature and trigger likelihood.

Well I wasn’t crazy about axon 2, I wanted to like it much more then I did. Originally it didn’t send midi out, so you could only use the sequencer internally, but AD added the midi out later on, and it really opened it up.

The big thing for me was setting up the Axon 2 sequencer could be a bit labor intensive, there was no randomization so it took awhile to set up each node, it’s parameters, note, etc… you really had to think a lot when using the sequencer, especially since one node triggered the next in a linked chain. the neural network sequencer is a really cool idea, but setting it all up would often hamper my workflow when using Axon 2. Maybe others felt the same, don’t know….

However…They seemed to have solved that issue with the cool randomization features in Axon 3. The ability to easily set a note, and a scale, are both much easier in v3. it’s as easy as pressing a randomize button, setting a scale, and seeing what comes out. I think it will get more attention, it only just dropped. I haven’t bought it yet but from what I can tell the new version looks awesome, and a massive workflow improvement over V2.

  • Sold - axon 3 = instabuy

  • @yellow_eyez

One last thing, it also sounds better than V2. I noticed this in the App Store description.

I bought it, while Patterning 3 looks interesting, I never got Patterning 2 because I’m new at iOS music and had a feeling a newer one would inevitably come up the second I wanted to expand my iOS tools. So I was kinda waiting for something to pop up and if not I was gonna get Patterning 3.

Saw this and was instantly interested. Checked out a couple videos then realized it was 3.99!? Somehow I missed that. I think it’s cause I was on my phone and the price is darkened out.

Had to get it. It’s really fun and the sounds are dope.

Yeah my hesitancy with it was the rollout (also I have a problem with my Apple ID atm) because I wanted to get the pre order price as $20 is my absolute limit for Audio Units but it looks like I won’t be able to checkout until Apple fixes my issue .

But anyway I was interested in axon 2 for desktop but the lack of pattern generation made me not into it

Axon 3 is the total package and its rollout is $4! It would be crazy not try it amongst the current influx of all the great drum stuff coming out

Thoughts on it? I have plenty of synths so at this point I'm only going for the ones that offer something new...
