Always 🤝
Huh. I don’t know. Did you check the Moog website, maybe they have some further info there. I’m surprised it’s not mentioned in the App Store.
Anyone have a strong opinion + or - about Bleass Fusion?
I did just pick up Fabfilter Saturn on sale and have plenty of distortion but the waveshaping of Fusion doesn't overlap much. Seems Fusion more overlaps with Izotope Trash. In fact thinking of combining Fusion + Convolution to get a Trash-like effect. Maybe even use some of the IRs pulled from Trash 2 on the desktop.
Love his apps!! Purchased without even looking at the video.
No one does Friday cheap thrills better than Zolotov 😄
Pulled the trigger on transit and it’s worth every penny. It would speed up my workflow, but by introducing it into my workflow I realised I’d have to use buses on Auria Pro rather than just aux like now…but I can’t get my head around how busses work in Auria. No matter what I do, I can’t get sound from more than 1 track by creating a bus track. Grrrr
I recall that you found Atom 2 and LK to require a lot of patching and button presses. Helium is no different. Like LK, you can use one app for multiple auv3s as compared with Atom 2 but you're still going to need to do all the routing. I find the editing controls are less cryptic than Atom 2 and LK (though once you're used to those apps things are fine), and like LK, you can edit automation. If you want all the piano roll sequencing to be in one app instance AND you like things more linear (not clip-based) and prefer better visual contrast with bigger text/icons, Helium will work better for you than LK and Atom 2. But the core issue of having to do a lot of taps to get up and running is the same across the three apps IMO. But once you're up and running (routed), I find them to be comparable.
Drambo as mfx is pretty good for what you want if you don't need the piano roll to only display a key/scale. I'd say the biggest Helium benefit is the media bay which comes preloaded with thousands of chords and progressions that you can just drag into the timeline. Having the ability to access and drag and drop midi progressions or chords without the hassle of downloading, sorting, loading, or God forbid programming them (lol) can be a huge time saver if putting together chord progressions is something you find yourself doing a lot.
Unfortunately, AUM will always require a lot of work to route, whether you're using a single piano roll to drive multiple instruments or multiple sequencers to drive the same, but that comes with the flexibility that makes it nearly unrivaled for complex, creative midi routing (Apematrix is also godly for this). If I'm in a pretty straightforward and linear mood, I can actually be pretty happy with just Garageband on Mac. But if I want to have that thrill of discovery and experimentation, I've gotten used to the routing timesink that is sequencing in AUM as the cost of doing business ☺
Utility
FileBag is free usually $7.99 - effective file management
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/filebag/id1048477712
Piano Chord Trainer is $1 off at $5.99 - works with midi keyboard
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/piano-chord-trainer/id1606790613
The correct way to buy a Zolotov app.
That sounds like NanoStudio 2 (linear timeline) or Drambo (pattern based, with drag and drop supported between clips).
May I redirect your GAS attention to a choice between that of SAND and NODES. Both apps feature SONG composition that is easier to set up than triggering Atom or Helium for songs.
Nodes ( $21 https://apps.apple.com/us/app/eg-nodes/id6466639463 )
A "modular" sequencer that can serve as a host or work inside a host such as AUM. You can live play, sequence, generate, or import midi sequences to trigger synths drums or even samples in itself or in a host -- depending on how you have it set up. There is a song mode and midi routing within and without the app. Super dev. Super app. Many features.
Sand ( FREE with a $9.99 unlock https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sand-sequencer-for-auv3-midi/id1642467684 ) Familiar linear sequencer. Midi clips which can be used for song sections. A master track that can set up chord progressions for selected sections. Ghost notes to aid in composition. ALMOST any time signature you might desire, including the ability to CHANGE time signatures within the song. Record sequence or import midi. Is strictly a HOST, but has midi out if you need more flexibility for routing and/or effects. And more... ALSO a super app that recently got updated with super powers
Two vids for Sand since there is lots more about Nodes here in the forum and on Youtube

Either might suit you.
