An update around the corner ?... after Logic 2...

    Cubasis is 50% off.

Looks like Logic 2 connection. Maybe next will be Zenbeats with sale :)

It is on sale! Zenbeats All Platform Unlock v3 IAP is currently $40, down from $60. iOS unlock might also be on-sale, I'm not sure.

Weird, “all platform” doesn’t look to be on sale for me, but “iOS” does ($10 <- $15).

I've almost stopped using Zenbeats because of it's UI which I can't really get used to. I only use it for midi drum programming because it's a brillant app for this (even if I also use Octachron and others…)

Yeah, I haven't really touched Zenbeats since Logic Pro for iPad dropped, and I always found it can be a little rough around the edges and non-intuitive for me, but I have to acknowledge that it's still there, it has a lot of great features and gets regular updates, it's backed by a large well-resourced company, and it's a lot more affordable than Logic. If Logic went away tomorrow, it would probably be my fallback choice.

  • OT - Games

Minecraft is on sale for the first time ever! $5 off at $1.99. Released in 2011, first recorded sale.

You’re probably right. Sometimes new releases or updates of one app, bring sales to other ones in the same ballpark.

I'm not sure about it's anticipated future, but their apps were all recently updated to be functional on the current iOS. IIRC, they were not available on the app store for a little while but have come back :)

Yes, the recent updates were to fix bugs that had crept in over time with recent versions of iOS, so they are running stable again now. The dedicated users who really enjoyed the apps and continued using them throughout all these years motivated me to get them back up and running again and I'm glad I did.

Regarding the anticipated future of the apps, I plan to continue supporting the current versions as long as possible with occasional bugfix and minor updates, allowing these original versions to continue running hopefully for years to come.
(Approaching 12 years already for Echo Pad and 10+ years for Crystalline and the others.)

As far as new versions of the apps go, I would love to make them and I have done some of the early stage work already. However, to be frank it is going to depend on whether I feel there is actually enough real interest there to justify the time and effort to stay motivated.

Honest feedback: I bought all of your apps when they first came out, but that is a long time ago. Since then there has been a flood of FX apps and I've bought lots of them. So, I think I have all the bases covered as far as FX I need, and although I really like your apps I don't think I would buy them again in AUv3 form as I already am drowning in FX apps.

New Holderness apps with new concepts and new types of FX - yes. The old stuff - no.

  • If they were priced right, I'd find room for them. Putting them together into a multi-effect unit could be cool.

  • Saw this on @ninobeatz Facebook group.

“Taqs.im World Piano one time payment 39.99 (70% off) really deserve it! I don't like subscription apps except for Logic Pro which is a beast.”

  • Is there an iOS/ipad app that can take audio notes from a guitar and convert them to midi/sheet notation ?

I'm the other end of the street. Love these apps and would definitaly pay for a number of them if they were released AUV3 etc.

    Fair enough.

I'm guessing it must be a lot of work to remake them as AUv3 or else the dev would have done it long ago.

    Cubasis IAP Sales!

I'm a little bit confusing about pricing of Cubasis 3 products.
Cubasis 3 is on sale now for $29.99, Cubasis 3 LE is for free and "Cubasis 3 Full Feature Set" IAP costs $17.99.
I found this thread about comparison https://forums.steinberg.net/t/cubasis-3-le-with-full-feature-set-vs-cubasis-3/889814
and I also checked that Cubasis LE 3 has also been updated to 3.6.5 as full Cubasis: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cubasis-le-3/id1479016819
Based on that I see no reason for purchasing full Cubasis instead of Cubasis LE during this particular sale but maybe I missed something?
PS: I have no intention of getting any IAP with instruments or FX, I already have more than enough of those.

EDIT: I checked IAPs description on appstore for LE version and I probably understand now.

That $17.99 IAP does not change main LE limitation mentioned on highlights: "Up to 4 audio and 4 MIDI tracks".
    Am I right?

  • @HoldernessMedia again thank you for updating these apps. As a word of encouragement for ANY further app development new or old, one of the great things about them is not the "specific genre" (echo shimmer etc) of the app but rather how they could literally be played from inside the interface. Their performability and tweakability is immense and while it can be found in various apps and with modulators having a straight ahead interface that these FX presented was and is lovely.

regards. and you are always welcome here and on my ipad

I thought there was a cheaper option for the unlock if you own certain hardware?

Exactly. Here is the list of compatible hardware: https://www.steinberg.net/cubasis/le/

I used my Yamaha Reface CS to unlock the LE version. Just connected it to the iPad and launched C3LE, as far as I remember.
