The latest version of Holon now includes support for Apple Watch (e.g. for syncing to heart rate), the IAP has been removed for the time being so it’s all free.

    Awesome, thanks for mentioning. Cheers!

Hey I have a video that shows this in use: https://youtu.be/1rTMdDrO5YM - you can now send miRack patches to Holon and control them with movement and location data, the video shows a few such presets (10 are included in the app).

@kidslow did you find with the JAX freq shifter some popping noises when moving the frequency knob?

Same here. And the dials move a bit slow. Tried it on several stuff but haven’t found a use for this freq shifter.

I didn't but I haven't had a chance to push it or really even play extensively. I got slammed by some work and just catching back up with the rest of life. I will check on the ipad and macbook. Didn't notice anything about the dials that put me off either. I like slower dials rather than too fast ones. I complained about the fuzzy fonts and some UI oddities. I think he's using a vision pro dev environment for the 3D UI.

Alas, I believe this is only supported in the payware Holon.ist app. (Correct me if I’m wrong)

What I do find interesting is that when you hit the freeze button in the upper right corner you can 3D rotate the unit and place it in any position you like.

I freaking LOVE this feature. Makes it look like old Admiral Quality VST’s from way back.

Wow. If you want "analog" richness and dirt, this is the one!
It has been updated in the meantime from monophonic to 4-voice paraphonic by the way.

I usually buy cross platform apps since I still have an intel mac and do my production on desktop, but I'm really tempted. This and Combustor...

Edit : bleep my rules, I bought it.

Agreed! With some of the best sounding filters I’ve ever heard ANYWHERE…. Dagger is amazingly good!

And it’s no wonder… it’s by BeepStreet! (maker of Drambo, Sunrizer, Zeonn, Combustor, and more)

signing in just to cosign Dagger. This synth is gorgeous sounding and extremely fun to play, well worth full price and a steal at a fiver.

this is my go-to when i just want A Synth For Anything.

Did some more noodling this morning and what I found is that certain sounds will click (call it a pop) when you move the Frequency knob across the zero bound either left or right. I think it might be related to the transients. Doesn't seem to be dependant on how fast you move the knob, but completely on the sound coming through. Pairs well with Pure Acid.

  • Wavebox Audio Editor is FREE usually $3.79

  • All Ryo Togawa Apps on sale, including his recent release.

  • New & Free App

AI Notes Recorder - is free - smart audio recorder recognition of instruments, etc…

  • Dagger is a blast, very usable on any device too

Yes, it’s that clicking on the crossing over the zero bound. I had it constantly every time I crossed that. I would almost consider buying this if it didn’t do that, but that really seems like a bug. If it is unavoidable, then the UI should really be designed in a way that will not allow users to accidentally create these clicks.

To be honest, you probably do need it. The sound is really beastly, in the best possible way, Beep Street really worked some magic on this one.

Totally trust your opinion, Sir Gavinsky.... buying it! haha

  • I don’t vouch for many synths besides Hilda and Dagger (and Redshrike); Dagger is really great.

  • Btw when is animoog supposed to be on sale

Said he's pushing some fixes for that and the bypass issue in AUM. I'm really energized by 303+FreqShift combination. I think JAX + Pure Acid will scratch that itch but now the little buy angel on my shoulder is like I should just get ABL3 to pair with Echobode. :D

I wouldn’t typically say this, but dagger is worth five dollars every day of the week. It’s one of the richest analog sounds available iOS. a great patch randomizer, just super warm or Buzzy sounds. I’m a huge fan of Dagger listen to some of the YouTube videos covering the app.

Yea there isn’t a ton I’d speak so highly about but dagger is certainly one of them, especially when we are talking about $5. This might be the lowest it’s ever been, at least tied for lowest. Filters are amazing and unique.

That’s something that is completely up in the air since the company was sold. They didn’t do any sales for Bobs Bday, so history won’t provide any clues. I have to imagine there will be some at some point, but impossible to even guess.

If the Gavinskinator says I need it, I need it.

Update for @raimundoarriagada and others on the fence:
Fiddling with it for 20min, it does sound great, more brooding/throaty compared to more boisterous/excitable Sunrizer or Zeeon. Far fewer tweakable parameters in comparison, which shows off its more deliberate/PnP nature. I cannot get it to sound quite like an Arturia Brute series, so YMMV on the Steiner Parker filter (may just be the lack of a “Brute Factor” feedback knob here). Overall, $5 for a good core tone and access to circuit-modeled SP filter hits the spot, if you promise you won’t want for something more complex.

Personally I like Zeeon more, but then it is higher priced and I am more of a tweak-head. I’m sure I’ll like it more once I start to build a track with it.
