    I didn't say that.

How would change the people’s approach to the war if they saw the whole picture?
What would have been the approach if someone had told at the beginning that the war will probably take years and hundreds of thousands of Ukranian men will die?

And what would have been the approach? Do you think Ukrainian men, women and children want to die? Has Ukraine started this war?

It’s pretty much the same across the West, we’re all the vassals of the USA.

I don't think that "vassal" is the right term. Our country was real vassal of U.S.S.R. from 1948 to 1989 except few months in 1968 and I'm old enough to remember their "kingdom on earth". Today's Russia is the same Soviet empire, just in a different color box. Nothing changed, the same mentality.
So my choice was and is clear and simple - I will be 1000 times happier in U.S. orbit than spend 1 year in Russian "vassalship". That's why we support Ukraine, we know what it's like to be occupied. Russia is agressor. Period.
I'm really grateful that we are part of EU and NATO now.

Indeed. Sorry, my bad. It was said by @SevenSystems actually.

I own couple of RRS plugins (compressors, eq, Ivoks…). Funnily enough this sanction will bounce back to us from the rest of the world, as we’ll loose apps we already paid for. Makes no sense.

Wait…so if you own these apps you will lose access to them?

If you have a pc, you can back them up with imazing. Just back them up on there and you’ll be able to load the app back on to your devices even if it’s no longer in the AppStore. I would have lost a few apps if it weren’t for that option

  • Too bad, good dev. Only have the RSS Ivoks and like it. Does anyone know concretely how they are being sanctioned?

OT (off-topic): Regarding the war and news sources I see nobody worth trusting except for reports from Red Cross or Doctors Without Orders. The only halfway verifiable truth in an ongoing conflict is about the amounts of inflicted suffering, as both sides lie. The american rocket shield has rendered their means of mutual destruction useless, which naturally stirs the pot. F war and discussing it here, there is a subreddit for anything.

I was looking for inspiration and got war 😭

Just make sure to not accidentally offload unused apps...or restore the device from a backup.

Not if you already own it. It may disappear if you switch iPads eventually though. (Which is what I’m doing soon).

If you switch iPad or do factory reset the apps are gone, which is plain stupid. It’s due to the fact that in this crazy Apple ecosystem you don’t actually “own” the apps you buy, they can be removed at any point. It’s more like you’re renting them… can’t even explain it as it makes no sense to me.
Commercial sanctions on a country would mean that you wouldn’t be able to buy Russian vodka in the supermarket. But in the case of bought apps it’d be like some government agents coming to your house and taking all the bottles you bought before there was even a sanction.
That said I don’t know of RRS supports Putin or not. I do understand that they can’t speak out against Putin. But I don’t believe in “don’t mix X politics”. If I have a choice I’d rather not give my money to a Putin supporter, a Trump supporter, a Netanyahu supporter, etc, etc…

  • I can’t stand how apps can just be gone, I’ve lost a few I didn’t back up and it’s frustrating to have spent money on it to basically just rent it. That’s why I still kind of prefer desktop cos I don’t have to compulsively remember to back my stuff up all the time in fear of losing it.

  • Shut it down. I’m looking for links.

  • I really hope they can emigrate, for their own sake and for everyone else. But I understand that not everyone can.
And yes, sanctions don't hurt the neo-Soviet regime much (and even strengthen it by providing fuel for its "everyone is against us" propaganda), but they hurt regular people on both sides of the iron curtain.
Speaking of news sources, I always recommend paying for some good online media. Nothing (well, almost nothing) is free, it's just that either you pay for something that's written for you, or someone else pays for that... I prefer being the customer, not the product.

I think the same thing happened in the 1930’s when Germany invaded Poland. That cascaded into a world where
most musicians were conscripted into their respective army bands. Hopefully, we can just keep making software and/or
    buying software products.

Taking a strong stand on this issue in Russia can get your thrown into jail so we maybe without RSS apps for quite sometime.

Having bought them all already… I’m good.

    Wikipedia advises:

Hitler had attacked Poland because he wanted Germans to live there. He considered the Polish people inferior and only fit as a work force.

  • I’m strongly considering buying IVOKS now if there’s a chance I won’t be able to purchase the full version in the future

It has a really distinctive oscillator and filter, go for it.

Agree that apple should let us keep old and removed apps, I've been lucky so far. It would make the whole platform more serious, they could even make a compability mode for ancient ones if they wanted I bet.

I'm 100% sure that at some point in the past two or three years, I read a topic here, where people were saying that you can't restore an IAP from an app that has been removed from the app store. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it. It's just something to be aware of.

Edit: Here is one such thread: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/50164/obsolete-apps-what-to-do-with-them

  • Oh yeah, with the IAP to unlock it, that complicates it even more

Yeah absolutely crazy we can’t keep the apps that we “bought”. That’s why I’m planning on picking up an MC101 or SH-4d to pair with the 404 so I can still have a solid hardware setup and not rely totally on the iPad for synth sounds.

  • At the end of the day, try as you might you can’t shut reality down. It has to be faced. Warts and all.

I think (at least in EU) Apple will be forced to allow third party apps installation, i mean apps outside of their appstore .. it will be probably solution for this problem .. They may allow dowload their app directly from their website and use for payment, asi i mentioned, cryptocurrencies to fuck fiat payment systems restrictions :)))

    https://www.computerworld.com/article/3711375/coming-soon-to-apple-third-party-app-stores-and-sideloading-apps.html

@RedRockSound try look at this option, what are options and what is (or will be in near future) possible ;)

Multiple 3rd party app stores + payment with crypto. That's a future I look forward to.
