  • For me this seems to be exactly what i need to work with both my acoustic and electric drum samples. Added bonus is the great klevgrand ui and included samples!

Just downloaded the demo and noticed that they sell add-on kits for this (Cajon, Glockenspiel, Kalimba, "Unholy Drums"), but this option for more add-ons has never been developed for Pipa (arguably one of their best pieces of software developed to date). Really hope they see the light and update Pipa so more voices could be added to it.

LOL... Update... I immediately deleted the demo. It's more than a GB of sample data. I don't need that.

Yeah it's almost 2 and if you'd already downloaded you might as well try it, no?
I've just installed it and testing in Reason, it sounds truly awesome BUT the presets are super slow to read in (Mac Mini M1 16Gb Ram) so that's a bummer. I hope that's some kind of faulty behaviour and that it'll get fixed.
Anyway, again: sounds really great and DPP has a competitor when it comes to drum sound on iOS.

Maybe those banks will be optional on the iOS port, like in AudioLayer and XinematiX. 🧐

It seems like Sweden is a place with drumming loving people - not only there’s KlevGr stepping up this niche with OneShot, there’s also the two big companies in Sweden with an broad amount of drumming software - XLN Audio (Addictive Drummer) and also the bigger one, ToonTracks…

It seems like Sweden is a good place to be a software developer in music business.

There was a report that came out in 2016 explaining why this was the case. I tried to find the report but couldn't. A lot of it was due, though, to various government policies like:

    Promoting music education in schools
Providing great music tech equipment and resources to universities
Giving financial support to start ups

And so on! So it is not just due to chance, it is due, in large part, to enlightened policymaking.

Actually they vary a lot, in one preset one of the snares had 45 samples(!) and also how much they use to extend the slots to various outputs, some presets have a total of 18 drum parts (max?) and other much less.

It's true and even as an adult you can start something called a studie-circle (union based) and get help with locale and finances. Also the climate push a bit i.e short summers long winters.

  • @Pxlhg :Comparable to DPP?! SOLD!!!!!

  • velocity layers (more than 4) and round-robin samples, just for drums - I'm sold. Nothing else on iOS like this! (DPP would be the closest? But it's a hellish UI, and it's AUM is neutered)

  • I don’t think this video as been posted yet.

I’ve seen some YouTube videos over the last month, glad to know it’s coming to iOS

  • Any news on this?

It certainly taking it's time (you could ask them). I have it on desktop (MacMini M1 16Gb Ram - Reason Studios) and some kits are really slow to load, I wonder if that's one of the road blocks. Anyway, I really hope it'll show up soon. It is fantastic once you get it loaded.

EDIT: @ExAsperis99 I did ask them and the answer felt a bit ominous:
    -------------------------message-------------------
_Jag har tyvärr inga uppdateringar angående Oneshot till iOS.

    Kind regards,
    Tove /Klevgränd_
    -------------------------end-------------------------

Translates to: Unfortunately I have no updates regarding Oneshot for IOS.

Maybe I'm just in mood but I expected something like we're: "working on it" or similar.🤷

  • They definitely working on it. I asked them if it was likely to be done by the end of the year. I haven't permission to copy conversation here but it should be way sooner.

Sounds good and thanks for the up. It's really strange as no other of their apps have taken this long to get to iOS. I think Tomofon took some week/s. We'll see.

I'm guessing it's because of the file system and sandboxing, users are going to want to import their own samples and it's probably not that easy on iOS to make that happen in a convenient way.

I read about another developer wanting to release his drum app in VST format but had big issues with some sample library licensing (the samplers wanted way to much money). My memory is a bit vague and I'm not sure how it was resolved. I think most of Klevgrands samples are their own but if not, that could be an issue.

    Update...love the notes...

  • Anyone who was having issues with One Shot crashing tried it with this new update? I'm away from ipad at the moment. Keen to know if I can actually use this app now.... :)

  • Yes, update is good. I used to have constant crashes, but now I could go through all preset kits while playing a sequence, not a single crash.

Many excellent kits, too. I love using it with Midi Curves for dynamic control.
