A bit of Prog Rock
I hope the wacky lyrics don't distract too much from the music 😀😀😀
I just made sure the music sounds good, I don't understand the lyrics anyway 😉
I'll probably generate lyrics with an AI app next...

Yeah, these are great @ZankFrappa. I'm very pleasantly surprised how good Udio is with these very complex generations. There are still occasional glitches (for example, a failure to merge sections together cleanly, resulting in an awkward and very audible gap), but I'm sure they'll iron out these glitches eventually. And if they don't, someone else will.
Yes, these glitches are annoying. What I find even more annoying are the drums, they usually sound like a 64kb mp3 that has been compressed several times.
And:
anyone who, like me, has heard Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover a thousand times will recognize parallels
in "my" song "Guitar Suite 2" (00:43-00:49).
Ian Anderson has already been mentioned in this thread, I've also come across Dream Theater's singer on Udio,
and slightly modified riffs from Rush, Genesis and others.
But it's still beta, I think there's more to come...
came across this site recently Udio website, free while in beta.
I created the very first AI Influencer musician if people wanted to check her out https://www.veronicaapollyon.com/music
OK... I'd like to know how this song is possible on Udio.
This account created a nearly 15 minute long opus in the style of Yes.

Aha. I just answered my own question. They now allow songs up to 15 minutes long!

The pace of innovation at Udio is just breathtaking compared to Suno...
OMG! Now that is a track and a half! Very much like Yes, for the most part, I like the dynamics and the instrumental break near the end is amazing. “We’re all doomed, doomed. I say!”
This one I’ve borrowed some lyrics.

Incidentally, Udio is now a free and paid subscription service as of today. So, limited free generations and more generations with either the $10/month or $30/month plans, plus other features. They also suddenly now have "inpainting" for audio editing, which sounds promising.
I've been so pleased with the quality of generations from Udio that I'll probably give the $10/month plan a shot to test out the inpainting feature. And I feel like the value of Udio is clearly better compared to Suno (for now).

I decided to see how well Udio worked if I gave it some lyrics. Granted, it's not poetry but it does give the "Song" some structure. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Of course it wouldn't be me without a video. In case the screenshot didn't give anyone enough warning this video isn't for folks with coulrophobia (fear of clowns). I call it "Nightmare Carnival "

Pretty cool! Getting some good character consistency in that video. I'll bet you're going to have a blast when Sora (or possibly something even better) comes out.
Thanks Neum
SVD is pretty good for small motion and camera movements, but yes I would love to get my hands on Sora or anything else that will make longer coherent videos.
Suno.ai is having a promotion and I guess if the planets align for you, you could win a lot of money:

Using your own lyrics and constructive prompts (quite limited at the minute) can with a bit of patience/remix create something that could pass as a 'real' song. With some rudimentary editing features this could create songs that are very listenable and probably better than most of what tops the charts these days*
TBF most of the creations on the audiobus forum already are. ;-)

New feature coming from Suno.ai... You'll be able to upload your own song snippet and the service will help you extend/finish the piece. This is really interesting from a production standpoint.
I recently did an AI course and as a part of the module on Generative AI, I decided to take the 5 second long musical motif used by the course itself, and ask Suno to extend it with the prompt:
Oboe melody, gentle, dignified
Suno came back with a set of variations on a theme, with poor audio quality it has to be said, which I reordered and overlapped to build into a more coherent piece.
I'm not sure about copyright / usage on this one so don't claim any ownership over the end result, and don't really intend on doing this again, but was an interesting experiment, and I quite liked that the machines took over not with a nuclear holocaust but with a gentle and dignified oboe melody.
