I dug the progression. There's a nice darkness to the tune which fits the lyrics well. Uncertainty I guess you could say.
Love how you take it down around 2:00
The choice of sounds help contribute nicely to the dark/uncertain feel.
Nice. The piano melodies are really interesting in and of themselves, and when you combine them with the strings, the piece gives off a lovely, dark, somber vibe.
Oh goodness, that modulation around 1:30 is intriguing.
Nice build in dynamics and emotion up through around 3:50
I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
You had me about 30 seconds in when the melody went in an unexpected direction. Lovely, chord voicings. It's amazing how rich a sound you can achieve with mainly roots and fifths (at least to my ears). Really pretty.
@richardyot
Great effort, and a stronger sense of melody than I remember from your previous stuff (it's been a while though). For some reason your voice reminds me a bit of Beck! I enjoyed this, it's just a really good tune, well produced.
@klownshed
I love anything with spacey/scifi undertones so off to a great start with a title like that! Listening to it I enjoyed the dark, almost sinister vibe and felt like I was playing American McGee's Alice again Nice use of strings and use of sparse piano (sounds like an old upright) - in fact the sounds are very convincing, what apps did you use?
@DavidEnglish
Calming and kind of mesmeric - and all the more impressive for something you improvised. The visuals absolutely add to the mesmeri, though I struggled to see the connection to the title! Nice work.
@BillS
I don't generally listen to this genre so probably not qualified to say much, but I can appreciate the singing playing and musicality of what you've created. What really hit me is how pristine the recording is - was this on iOS? Impressive stuff. And I gotta ask... are you the man in the restaurant?
@studs1966
Party time! Thinking about it, I'm not sure there's many folks making upbeat songs in this community. This is more my wife's cuppa than mine but I can appreciate how well put together it is, very well mixed, and her voice is excellent (and a great fit).
And here's mine...
A short piece based on quick experiment with Spacecraft and some voice samples.
Went for a lighter summery oceanic vibe instead of my usual darker tone. Had fun with the visuals too
Production not on par with the other entries here, but hey
@wired2moon your piece has potential - I think the vocal samples sound great, and the visuals are excellent. I was needing a rest from the continuous 1-2-3-4, up a tone, 1-2-3-4 if I am honest. That came in the middle with a little melodic break which was nice, and could be expanded upon.
Thanks for listening to my song - it would be a way cooler lyric if I’d written it in the third person about me, but I have to be honest and say it was purely observational. The piano was done on Pianoteq with no EQ adjustments in Logic Pro for iPad. Vocals and mix done on desktop, mastered in Logic Pro for iPad using the master assistant.
A May entry... I'm going with trippy, folk, glitch waltz for a description. This started out as a single loop in "Endless" Studio (the part that begins about 3:07).
Some nice sound design going on and I like the way it build up to the second ‘B’ section from around the 0:50 mark. My one thought is that it then goes back to the ‘A’ section but doesn’t build back up again. Arrangement wise it feels like I’m missing out. It would benefit from another section at the end maybe a variation on the ‘B’ section?
I like the sounds and the vocal samples add a nice texture.
Thank you for listening and commenting
I used Musio for the pianos, there is a standard piano and a ‘prepared’ piano, and Spitfire Appassionata for the strings.
I used Logic on the Mac for this one.
Musio would be amazing on the iPad. Having access to the huge library where you only download what you need would fit the iPad perfectly. On the Mac it automatically downloads any instruments that are used in a project making it particularly useful when you have a Mac with a smaller internal drive — like my MacBook! And the sounds are pretty great too… maybe not top tier orchestral library but pretty damn close and incredible value for money — relatively speaking.

This is great Richard! 🙌🙌🙌👏👏. One of my favorite tracks of yours. Love the song, sound, mix, production. It’s very cohesive and has got a very distinct personality. Love it!.
This is just missing a great movie for this great soundtrack piece. Love it. Some beautiful tension here, that daunting piano is just beautiful.
I love the simple piano melody panned to the right, that's really effective, and the vocal sample creates a great atmosphere. It works well as a short two-minute piece, but it could also maybe be fleshed out with more parts to create something longer.
I like the layers of overlapping synths, there is a constant movement with the arps that drives the track forward, and the warm, bass patch is delicious.
Is that you singing? Nice vocal.
Lots of melodic parts to keep the track interesting, the arrangement flows beautifully.
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and for the kind comments. 😍
Hey @BillS. That's quite a profound story. I actually felt for the man in the restaurant. Sounds like an utterly lonely dude. The tune really speaks to the isolation and disconnectedness of modern life.
I like the structure of the song and execution. The piece had a very live, organic feel. The stylings reminded me some of Billy Joel. Nice one.
@studs1966, this has an authentic 70s disco vibe, right down to the vocal. The vocals sound very professional. Nicely put together!
@wired2moon I'm pretty sure I commented on this over at KVR, but here goes again.
I appreciate the simplicity of the tune. It conveys the simplicity of being on the ocean (basically water and sky). The visuals and music go together nicely. Sounds like the vocal sample is saying "all is gone." I'm not sure what that means in the context of being on the ocean which adds an element of uncertainty and mystery.
Cool soundscape. I like the glitchy percussion and the synth melodies in the outro section . I also like the synth sounds a lot. Really good track. I was expecting the vocals to come back towards the end but that’s not a criticism; I like an instrumental outro. The fill/perc break just before the outro section starts at 3:07 ish is very cool — just a small thing but i like that kind of attention to detail.
I like it but I wanted more Seriously, nice mood but it would have been nice to have a bit more sections/repetitions maybe. The piano is lovely and the lyrics are perfectly fitting.
Inventive, melodic and original. The glitch isn’t my thing, but that’s personal taste. All the vocals, both spoken and sung are effective. Good work! (and thank you for your kind and considered comments on “Man in the Restaurant”) 👍
“Check reality”
Pardon my break in commenting and delay in posting mine. But here it is for May.
produced on TE OP-1 Field - Mastered in Logic Pro for IPad 2
@DavidEnglish
Calm, meditation style or even sleep inducing hypnotic type of stuff. It almost sounds binaural , but the layering of sounds and arrangement is pretty seamless. Nice
@BillS
Very pretty story and ballad. Reminds me of like a few singer songwriters put together. I like it a lot, and your playing is nice.
@studs1966
Awesome fast paced and uptempo positive vibes for once lol. It’s really professionally done too. How long have you been on the Label?
@wired2moon
I like it for its simplicity and for the accompanying visuals as it provides like a nice background, like a chill ambient lounges display or something .
@ecamburn
Love this track. The rhythmic work is great, the modulation is really nice. I like your melodies and layers. I’d be curious to known more about the production . One of my faves this month
Thank you all for sharing
Cool piano melody that provides the hook and anchors the track. The fx in the middle of the tune add interest without being overdone and the arrangement is nicely balanced. Good stuff.
This is your best track yet IMO, love the quirky piano theme, and the synth counter-melodies that come in and out, especially the weird pitch-gliding one that comes in at the first minute. It's a track that is a joy to listen to from start to finish.
Thanks dude
Wow thanks so much man! That is quite the complement to start and make my day/week (especially because it is coming from you , I take it with double value!) thx
Hi @yellow_eyez.. I have started my Label a couple of months now.. But since I have the other worked with other Record Label they seem to be re releasing my tracks, but now not getting any payments.. They even now in communication with me, where they were always every day in contact... Thats why I decided to go it on my own?.. I have worked for quite a few Labels.. But they take the royalties, but dont pay you?.. So i thought sod this?... If they can do it, so can I?.. But it is not about the money, it is about the love of making it?.. Only good thing as since I have been getting my tracks out there, I have got a little following, which will help?. I will start to advertise to anyone who want there tracks released, I can distribute them now?.. I wont go down the other Label way?.. Best to be honest?.. But there tracks have to be on the vibe I have created to a degree?.. Soulful House or Disco..
Cool man. Wish I had something to offer but I’m glad you found your niche; good luck

Thanks for listening.
@richardyot , yes that's me singing on that tune. The spoken word part was generated with ttsmaker. https://ttsmaker.com/
Morning all. Here’s my May offering
Full on synth and it’s mainly about the Melodies in the chorus. All done within Logic pro iOS with a mix of inbuilt patches and iM1. I created the video using a mix of google earth studio, some drone footage and basically staring 80s New Romantic style into the camera - edited within davinci resolve.
Hope you enjoy
Nice slice of uplifting synth-pop, the chorus is indeed full of sunshine and rainbows. Good job on the video too. The arrangement is well-crafted, the transition into the chorus section works very well.
