This Cyclic mode is amazing… crazy sounding stretches..
This app is GOAT status 👍
Sick, i love this freaking app
Just wait until automation arrives, whenever that might be 😀
It's something that iOS is sorely missing. Cyclic and automation
NICE! @elf_audio is the GOAT for this! Added the time stretching in Samurai Mode instead of charging an extra IAP fee? This is insane (in a good way).
Automation would render all my other apps redundant .. please make it a thing @elf_audio
W-w-w-w-i-i-i-i-c-c-c-c-k-k-k-k-e-e-e-e-d-d-d-d!
The best gets better yet!
Awesome. Thank you for all your hard work, @elf_audio !
Yikes!!
Hey, is anyone experiencing problems with external midi sync after the update?
I sync Koala to the Korg SQ-1 via midi and it was working fine up until last night, then I do the update this morning and it's giving me problems. Specifically, when I hit play on the SQ-1 Koala just plays the first note in the sequence and stops, the transport is no longer running. If I take Koala out of external midi sync, it runs as it should.
+1
What no reverb! J/k I can wait
I don’t want to sound like a nagging grandma, but it looks like we won’t see full-fledged volume, filter and pitch envelopes. Anything can be added, but not the basic functions of any sampler.
Amazing update!
Just for the record: Multi layer pads ( incl. round robin ) next please 😎
Sweeeeet, so glad the open UI for AUv3 bug is fixed. May just make my NS2 Koala opus now.
@elf_audio Auto Normalize after recording a sound would be a really nice and handy feature to have
...and if L or R is selected keeping the sample as 'one channel' instead of 'dual mono' would save some precious ram and storage, especially when being used as an AUv3...
Oooo... And ESX24 importing? xD (recovering Drumdrops addict. AudioLayer is a gateway drug)
Srsly tho, a few velocity layers with round robin would be the cats pajamas
Wow, this is huge now.. can’t wait for future developments, Looping for example…
Key/Scale transpose will cherry top… Nice.. Thanks..
I think there‘s a Koala thread somewhere here where this was discussed (multi layer/random or round robin playback). iirc @elf_audio more or less said that such a feature would be too complex to implement and he might as well could start writing a new app for this.
But I‘d say it‘s a feature that more and more people would love to have ( other devs? anyone? 😉 )
Why don't they just change Round_Robin from Zero to One? 🤔
we need amp/filter envelopes - ADSR! please.
Oh holy shit! That'll save me some headaches as that's how I usually structure out a song in the first place is by laying out the sequences and going one at a time in "Seq End" mode. Nice feature update.
Thank you for the upgrade Marek!
I just had a convo with ChatGPT, and it answered affirmative on the following:
"Personally, I never use the Perform mode. And whenever I have used the Sequence mode, I get frustrated. Both the recording of sample into a Sequence and the playing of notes on the grid or piano roll are somehow frustrating.
In contrast, the Sample mode is fun. Nothing beats it for quickly recording audio, especially voice, and redoing it or combining it with other samples. Or trimming it and more.
Am I in the minority on this? Does it still seem like it is worthwhile for me to use Koala Sampler as my mobile way to spark ideas and capture them, especially for the beginning of songs?"
ChatGPT agreed me with more detail than I wanted, as usual. And I know it can be too agreeable.
So how about users here? Do you Koala mostly for the Sample mode, and then jump elsewhere?
Just discovered something cool ..
Have an isolated vocal , turn stretch on, set to Cyclic 7.8ms.. instant angry robot .. great effect 😂
Why did you post this?
Why are you so miserable? Joe is simply making conversation. Got a problem with it, then ignore it. Simple enough for you?
I LOVE Koala.
I posted it to see if others are just using it for the Sample mode. Or it there is something I'm missing about the other modes that would make those worth trying again.
Not trying to rain on the parade of a great app.
