OneShot! By Klevgrand (Released on iOS)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/oneshot-drum-sampler/id6651855358

Meet your new drum companion OneShot! More than a drum sampler, this is a percussive workstation specifically designed for one-shots (single strike samples). Every detail in the workflow design and sound quality has been given a lot of care and consideration, making OneShot a percussion powerhouse that is both fun to play, excellent sounding and stuffed with purposeful features.

Following the tracks of percussion innovations like Slammer, Borsta, Ting and Skaka, OneShot is Klevgrand's biggest and most capable drum instrument yet. Packed with lots of handy features to give any drums an organic feel, like humanize settings, velocity layering and round robin. Plus, it comes with more features like choking, filters, envelopes, an extensive effects system, and multi-out routing. But don't worry, even with all these features, OneShot is still super-easy to use, flexible, and intuitive, offering an extensive hub for all your drumming needs, while staying true to the recognizable spirit and quick workflow associated with Klevgrand.

OneShot's innovative sample playback engine gives you complete control over your samples, and lets you stay flexible.

Each sound slot comes with its own mixer channel, allowing you to tweak effects, adjust levels, and route audio exactly how you want it. Plus, with support for multi-output, you can take your sound even further by processing individual channels in your DAW.

"Over the last four years we've discovered that many music creators out there want to use drum sounds in a similar way to how we like it at Klevgrand. This has given us the confidence to develop a fuller concept, OneShot, that will make our existing users feel at home and also welcome new Klevgrand users." - Tobias Engström, CEO & Co-founder

BYOB (Bring your own beat)
OneShot isn't just about the pre-packaged sounds. You can easily import your own samples just by dropping audio files into OneShot, letting the built-in smartness do the heavy lifting and automatically organize the samples into playable instruments, just a click away.

More cowbell!

With OneShot, you'll get a large volume of high-quality drum sets and percussion sounds from start, meticulously recorded using multiple velocity layers and round-robin samples. But the fun doesn't stop there - with additional sound packs available for purchase, including collaborations with top artists, you'll never run out of inspiration.
From classic drum kits to unique percussion instruments, OneShot has everything you need to take your beats to the next level.

  • Hooray! I'm quite curious to see how big it will be. I'll be happy for <3GB.

This completely fails to take advantage of the strengths of the iPad if there is no playable pad (drum kit / percussion) view. Maybe there is one and it’s just not being shown?

None of their apps have done that sadly - Ting and the rest would have been well suited to that also

  • Let's face it tho - most apps released by ios native devs don't even take advantage of the strengths of the iPad any more, it's very sad 🤷‍♂️

  • Oh yeah!

As it is then, it’s a port of the desktop version with no consideration given to the unique strengths of the iPadOS platform.

Yes - as basically every single desktop port is

  • Will be interesting to see if this suffers from MFS (Microscopic Font Syndrome) and how well the UI scales...

  • Great to have this on iOS. I hope it has multi-out!

On an iPad mini that might be a problem.

  • What functions do you gain from not being a lightweight per track sample trigger app ?

Or are we still at the cusp of ios not being powerful enough to have 8-16+ tracks of same au, just for drums and not factoring all other song elements?

    Its probably specs.

Maybe theres only an amount of ram shared for an au.

I understand your frustration, but, isn’t this ”every app have it’s own playing surface” a heritage from earlier days before Audiobus/AUM/virtual MIDI was a thing?

Couldn’t you just use your iPhone (if you got one) to be the play surface to your iPad over BT-MIDI?
Or even an spare iPad would be nice…

You don't even need that - u just use a virtual keyboard or pad app auv3 to play it on the same ipad you're using it on, inside AUM or whatever. Lack of touch-first features in ipad apps is a pity, but there is not really a need for every app to have a playing surface of its own, as u rightly point out

  • Oneshot! from the wonderful company Klevgrand - this years most wanted app if you ask me!

As no:2 comes Synthmaster v3 for iPad, but, as I’ve seen it has been moved to 2025 release…

What sequencers will trigger drums but swing drums per track?

Id then have to use drambo to trigger the drum sequencers patterns.

Different to an au per track

but maybe this will be the best acoustic app?

Or is it ok enough just making 4 velocity layers in Drambo sampler?

Dont think Drambo has round robins?

    What are round robins?

Different sound hits of the same drum?

That would be ideal in a fac drum per track.

You could have 16 variations ( manual round robins )

but then lose whatever the drambo velocity layers are doing?

If when sending samples to fac drum?

  • will this be universal ios , so it can work on iphone too?

  • how much will this be? is there a pre order price? excited it looks really cool

  • I mean it would be sick if the cpu were like fac drum or blipbox etc but even then. I havent really tested per track of the same au.

Ipad 9 seems ok with 12 instance plus other stuff for drums.

Bet app is like other apps, where you can only use multi out because of cpu.

  • We have to make a new template for Octagron.

  • A bit confused here. Does it have a built in sequencer?

  • edited September 4

@sigma79 Drambo does have round robins, if you load a file with slightly different hits and slices set, the shot sampler will randomly pick a slice every time you hit the corresponding key. Flexisampler can also be configured to play random slices. Not sure, if you can use velocity and round robins at the same time to pick samples (you can of course set a velocitysensitive Ampenvelope after the round robins).

Anyway really looking forward to one shot:)

No. And IMO OneShot deserves a sibling - the new Klevgrand Drummer app with lots of styles and AI support.

Great idea. I sent them 4 mapping templates for Ting a week ago.

  • Does this replace Ting and Slammer?

    Nope.

  • KB-1 also have pads if you need ‘m.

  • Trying to keep expectations in check but damn, this is awesome!!
