Thanks! Quick question, is it possible to set the velocity for each step? I can only find accent.
Wow.. pretty nice… and Auv3 tooo..
Will be buying..
Thanks..
Lots a great features in this! Reminds me a lot of the original!
Curious if there will be swing options or options to adjust the amount of ratchets per step.
Really dig the timing features and that they keep your original pattern when you change em as a performance effect
Yes you can use the automation in the mixer page to set velocity/pitch/length/pan per step.
To display automation, tap the Automation button (in the nav buttons) in the Mixer page.
Ok, thanks, will look into it!
Insane timing. I dusted off dm1 the other day thinking about how great it was with the exception of it not having auv3.
New app is already in a great state! Very excited to see this
@relpot This is awesome! Before I join the beta, just a question. Are we able to load user samples?
Yes you can create user drum kit and import user samples.
This is an amazing drum machine @relpot !!
I have to try it more to see if there are things like probability and so on but so far it’s really great.
Cool! I will join the beta after my gig this evening! Can't wait to have a bit of fun with DM10. And once it's released I will ofc purchase it.
My dream would just to have Propllerhead's Thor, Audio Kit Synth One, and DM1 as AUv3.
I'd be willing to pay upward to 50 quid for Thor to return to iOS as an AUv3 plugin (although I'd hope it wouldn't be that expensive).
Pretty nice.. Lots of creativity… It’s begging for MultiOut.. Midi Input (Recording) is amazing..
Thanks.
Edit.. Midi Import…would cherry top.. Mr. Lumbeat drums to a new level… with Auv3..
There is no probability for the moments, but it should not be difficult to add it, I will think about it.
Meanwhile, could you give me more details about what you have in mind about adding probability to DM10 ?
@relpot
Thank You, again!!!
So good
I will check the Multi-out as it would be an awesome feature indeed! I'm currently not sure if it's doable with my audio engine but I will try it for sure!
About the Midi Import, I will add it in DM10 v2 update.
Glad I came across this thread. Have joined the beta.
I am tickled to shit with the strat kit. very nice!!!
DM1 finally made it to AUv3 - that's awesome. Joined the beta.
BTW, I see the Beak sound kit is still around. Any stories you could share on it, @relpot ? I remember Geoff Barrow mentioning DM1 somewhere on his social media.
There is no real story to share about Beak. We are just big fan of this group and our sound designer KingQ4 have Geoff contact, so a few years ago we contact him about DM1 and Geoff was kind enough to make us a drum kit,, that's all...
By the way, we saw Beak live on stage in Paris a few weeks ago, it was really nice!!
I had a look at the Beta. My immediate thoughts are that I would like to see randomisation for the drum patterns. To be honest I could do without the bass and lead machines in favour of a more involved drum machine with probability, automation, mutation and randomisation etc. I know that’s not what’s being offered here but it was kind of my expectation as to what a new DM1 would be like. Personally I’m not too exited about it at the moment.
It has a dope randomizer, so did dm1
I'm wrong. It doesn't change the pattern. Dude clearly said that. My bad @robosardine
Thanks.. it is an awesome app..
Yes I understand your feeling. Our main goal with DM10 was to rebuild DM1 with a modern audio engine and with AudioUnit support. Now it's done, we will be able to add others features such as probability and step randomization. Automation is already available for all the tracks parameters (level, pitch, length and pan), you can find it in the Mixer page.
What do you mean by "mutation" feature ?
Does this come with a bunch of drum patterns? If so, how do I find them?
Mutation is where you can choose for the pattern to evolve/vary to a greater or less degree depending on the setting - there are some excellent examples to be found on the Bram Bos apps - Hammerhead, Troublemaker and Ruismaker Noir apps.
On the subject of the Synth & Lead aspect - they will need to be pretty good and intuitive to become one of the first picks to play - particularly in the world of Auv3. Most people will have separate instances in different channels as opposed to doing it all in one channel :- so you will have maybe Drums in channel 1 …. then your choice for Bass in channel 2…. you then ask yourself - what am I going to choose?
For the bass to stand a healthy chance I think it would need to include a ‘slide’ and ‘accent’ function as per the overwhelmingly acclaimed TB303
Can we add swing? And variations to the ratchets??
Song-Load-Templates?
DM1 was the first iOS music app I ever bought, and I’ve been using it for sample fodder recently. I can’t wait for this.
Thanks RajahP
