Anybody attempting Jamuary 2025 ?

I've probably written thirty poems over the last couple of years. Maybe I'll record one a day and upload them to freesound for other musicians to set. That seems doable.

That would be amazing. If you do, please post a new thread so we can find them.

  • Jazzy thing

  • Late to the party, a jam in the truest sense of the word, finger kludges on the iPad screen included

I was thinking about the The White Castle by Orhan Pamuk before and while playing:

  • I agree with @tyslothrop1 , there’s a definite x files vibe going on with yours @reasOne 👌
Another good one @kyrillik , you must be in the swing of Jamuary by now, plain sailing from here 😊
Lovely @Krupa , full of feeling, enjoyed it a lot 🙏
    Here’s my day 2 ambienty , improvised cello thing…

  • Cheers @GeoTony , I particularly like the melody you find towards the end of yours…

  • My first "official" entry into Jamuary 2025 (although my second piece produced this year, the first being "NYD 2025"...

    https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/comment/1375970/#Comment_1375970

...which I produced after finishing "MMXXV" yesterday. I didn't mark "NYD 2025" as my first entry into Jamuary, but let's pretend that was my intention lol. 😂 ) "Splendor" was produced in Cubasis 3 within an hour using mostly sounds from the Halion pack (except the bass which is Micrologue). No fancy AI album cover this time.

Too short @tyslothrop1 , enjoyed the sounds you used !
    Here’s my first one…

My plan is an album in 2025. Track a day is too rich for my blood 😂

A track a day seems like a huge commitment. I'm pleased with myself if I can manage to change my guitarw strings once every five years or so.

You don’t have to do a track! Just a jam! Making a track every day would def not be the best tracks but the lil jams are nice exercise and at least start a song!

  • Great jams everyone!
SoundCloud and my phone hate each other for some reason but they will play… but the YouTube links work better for me…
Maybe I’ll try to log back into SC tho since a lot of people are using it

@reasone I like it. Reminds me of somebody flipping a synth sample from an 80s horror or sci-fi movie (yes, I know you sampled yourself).

Haha that’s awesome because i have been watching a lot of 80s and 90s scifi movies recently 🤣 so i dig that!!

  • I think its SoundCloud in general @reasOne , the player appears and disappears at random for me on my iPad ☹️

Yup! Its very strange behavior from SC on my end as well!

Patterning 3, Borsta, Model 15 and Trooper recorded into loopy pro

  • Silly is good @Krupa , I’m enjoying the noodles !
Really enjoyed the low bass / high lead combo @tyslothrop1
    Beautiful work Jim ( @jwmmakerofmusic ) 🙏
    And a great contrast to Jim’s creation @kyrillik 😊
Here is mine which uses a lovely backing track kindly donated by @Dav 👌

I have been thinking a lot about your post. I already jam pretty much every night anyway. It's my normal routine. While fun for me to play, I hesitate to record and upload improvisations. I will have to ponder the concept of Jamuary some more.

    Lovely phrasing going on here🙌

  • @GeoTony Thanks! I like your clarinet track. Sounds so real!

Here’s my third one. Drambo, phosphor, fractal bits and bleep, played in loopy pro.

  • Happy 4th !

  • Hope you decide to post @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr 🙏
    Cheers @Krupa and @tyslothrop1 👌
Never tried Drambo or Loopy Pro @tyslothrop1 but you’re tempting me to have a go 😊
Is the expression ‘banging’ @kyrillik 🤔
Ps I’ve asked the administration department via duplicated memo to move this thread into Creations and Collaborations…

  • I would love to join, but i’m to busy working this year. I hope to have time next year. I did a Jamuary in 2021. It was a fantastic ride but very time consuming.

Thanks @GeoTony Are you using different instruments per string in your last one? Cool.

Here's mine for today. I've used ableton, played some guitar and Jamstix4, Acid V and Mercury 4 and some FX

  • Jazzy hip-hop

  • Priorities are a pain in the bum @Lorichs but there’s always next year 🙏
Yes different instrument per string @tyslothrop1 , each string outputs on a different channel. Some grungy sounds on yours !
Watched yours at full screen @kyrillik so that it could read the writing on the buttons… didn’t help me understand it 🤔
Mine features something going wrong between AUM, GeoShred and Decent sampler where it starts playing back notes that I’m not actually playing … the end result was fairly musical so I kept it 🙂

I'm alternating between track mutes and 1/16 note repeat. Note repeat on Maschine works marvellously, since it responds to pressure, allowing for very complex drum fills.

  • Getting a bit behind as I had real life jamming to do yesterday; I recorded this after as i wanted to get the changes to my jam mates, and then thought it would do as a day three submission (play in different tempos - I think this counts as I can never get it to feel right playing with a drum machine)

    https://on.soundcloud.com/qudJaLaCUopaH31j9

Bit jaggery and terrible note control, plus I keep adjusting it on the fly every time and lose pace at least once😅

  • Yes i am posting some stuff over at Elektronauts. First time, so not every day😊
I can drop here as well, as soon as i figure out how to properly embed soundcloud link on a page

  • Todays attempt…
