  • Here’s a little jam I did with two arpeggiators I built in Drambo controlling Chiangmai and Model 15 and a bit of drum computer.

    Industrial / gabber

  • Great work K, k and t… you know who you are 😊
Just get the link from SoundCloud and post it in @Milkyway1980 although at the moment I think there is a bug in SC / IOS where the embedded SC player does not always show. It’s actually there if you click on it and it appears sometimes. I’d report it to SC but their bug reporting system isn’t working for me ☹️
Here is mine for today . It finished up with a feel of Debussy or Ravel (to me anyway)…

@Milkyway1980 for me this works in Firefox on iPad (doesn’t work on my android phone)

    Hit this:

Then change to the embed tab and copy this link:

Edit: I think there is one extra step, hit share in the second screenshot and copy the link that shows up then. I have to figure it out new every time;)

  • @GeoTony Cool, what you got out of piano motifs and nice playing, as always.

    Here’s mine for today:

  • A bit of the exotic east today …

  • Today is a quick blast of Fusion sort of day…

  • Today is a sort of ambient ramble using SWAM Viola and the excellent but forgotten (by Roli) Roli Noise…

  • Here’s mine for today:

  • Keep em coming @tyslothrop1 😊
Here’s mine for today, basically 3+ minute improvisation …

  • Another ambient noodle I’m afraid…

  • Simple (very simple 😊) Piano piece today… obviously played with GeoShred though!

  • Holy crapola, I have so much to catch up on here once February hits, lol. I've noticed quite a few of folks posting here have kind of dropped out of the challenge, with @GeoTony and I being the only regular posters.

I created my own Jamuary thread so as to keep this thread nice and clean. I've even created two pieces in a day when I had extra free time to do so. However, today seems to be a "one piece" sort of day. Having supper with my family in a bit. :)

  • @jwmmakerofmusic No I haven’t dropped out, I knew from the start I wouldn’t post every day. I did jam a little everyday, but if I didn’t get in the mood or what I had didn’t please me enough or if I simply fell asleep, I don’t see much sense in posting. Still 8 posts so far, I already got further than last year :)

Here’s a little jam in Drambo:

Gave this a listen. A really wonderful piece of music you created there. :) Like I said, I definitely need to catch up once Jamuary is over with, just to listen to all the wonderful pieces posted here. I'm so stuck far into Jamuary that I've been averaging 1-2 pieces per day. Now that doesn't mean all the pieces are the best quality. I'm trying out different things here and there. However, I'm enjoying the process and the challenge.

  • @jwmmakerofmusic Thank you very much. Cool that you went all in on Jamuary and of course the stuff you make can't all be as good as something you would take a lot more time to produce, but maybe it is more spontaneous, which can be a good thing.

I guess a big part of Jamuary for many people is short circuiting perfectionist tendendencies. If that perfectionism usually tends to them usually working really hard to get there, or (as in my case) not even trying "finishing" anything is another question.

I have to force myself a little bit to get some structure into my stuff, but it's nice to have something I can listen to afterwards even if it's not as good as I'd like it to be.

  • Agree totally with your comments about perfectionism @tyslothrop1 . I think it stops a lot of people posting tracks that probably only they would be critical of. I know mine could always be better but I don’t particularly worry as I know I would never achieve 100% perfection. This is todays example 😊

  • An Indian music vibe today making use of the excellent free (limited functionality) NaadSadhana app…

  • Today will be mainly Mallets and Trumpet…

  • Todays makes use of the Andalusian cadence which I discovered yesterday…

  • @GeoTony Cool piece. When I went to my first jam session a couple of years ago, one guy thought I was more knowledgable than I was and instructed me to just play the Andalusian cadence… he had to tell me the actual chords. Nowadays I know a bit more, which means knowing there is an Andalusian cadence, today I kind of suspect there might be other cadences, too ;)

  • Here’s mine for today, I put some VS in there with some heavy flickering, so better don’t watch, if you’re photosensitive. Instruments used: ukulele bass, guitar, patterning 3, Animoog z and iFretless brass and my voice.

  • This is the video I watched @tyslothrop1 , amazing how many songs use the progression

I noticed you used Model D in your no. 8 track, spookily I’ve just used it in mine today 👍

  • edited January 18

@GeoTony cool Video, didn't know the V should be major. Didn't know it was that common either. Coincidentally I listened to good vibrations and happy together this week, because my son starts liking those psychedelic pop pearls :)

  • Some sort of synth pop today ? I’m not sure 🤔 but it uses DRC for all the sounds…

  • Been busy today so I subcontracted the work to the creatures from Seaquence 🐙🐡🪸🪼🦐.
They decided to use Korg Module for all of the sounds…

  • Not my best track this Jamuary but there’s always another day…
Some sort of jazzy Scaler 2, Indian Drummer, Flugelhorn thing ?

  • Off to India for this todays…

  • @GeoTony I really like the Indian one. My favourite so far.

Here’s an even sloppier jam than before with a beatslicer I built in Drambo and Pure Acid and BA=1
