Any opinions on PuNkGen - Metal Riff Loop maker? The app description makes it sound interesting. No AU but IAA, etc… I like that you can easily add notes to the generated riff. I’m curious about sending midi out? Also the quality of the riffs it generates, and general sound/usability? Thanks.
The app doesn’t deliver realistic riffs in my experience. The quality of the samples reminds me of early-era sampling technology.

I think it’s great fun for coming up with riffs of a demo quality (which I don’t care about). If I program a good riff then I’m willing to reprogram with shreddage on the desktop. I connected it easily via midi to Thor and the like but the mutes, notes and power chords which make up the riff don’t translate they seem to just play as notes.

Still too much. I bought Aube for a good penny and that becomes useless when buying this, why not doing an upgrade option beats me. I seem to be very lonely in this as everybody praise A2, even those who, like me, bought A1. Never mind, just needed it out of my system. 🥲😅

I cannot believe that this app is more or less $20 when not on sale. I cannot afford or justify the cost so sadly can’t try it out for myself.

Punkgen is literally unusable for any external MIDI control for me. Tested with AUM and the IAA modules for MIDI out and in just don’t load. Be warned - it’s very closed off in its current state.
