When using Korgs Electribe Wave, how do I access its presets. I’m stumped.

You can't .. Electribe AUv3 doesn't have interface to browse presets innit, it just exposes prestes to AU host app - unfortunatelly Groove Rider 2 doesn't allow browser AUv3 plugin presets (or i am idiot and didn't find them - don't trust me, verify :))

Thanks so much. It somewhat makes it a bit useless. Shame Korg did a half arsed AUv3

So typical for Korg, they do same in HW .. But this problem is something Jim can fix by just exposing plugin's presets in GrooveRider UI .. so maybe @jimpavloff if you will be bored and will have some free time, maybe you can look at it :-)

It's the same problem in Drambo too.

  • People who are already using the app, would you recommend an 11 inch or 12.9 inch M1 Ipad pro for use with this app?
Is the big screen worth it? Or is it more convenient with slightly smaller Ipad?

Feels great on my 12.9 M2. Can’t see it feeling better on a smaller screen.

I've never felt the least bit constrained in GR2 on my 11 inch iPad 9th gen. I've never felt the need for a larger format.

It’s probably fine on 11 inch, but I’m happy with it on 12.9. It doesn’t suffer from microscope needing fonts or buttons.

  • Really think that Battlestation’s Memory Slots (Snapshots) will take GR2 to a new level. Seems the Ableton ‘Scenes’ thing was developed when computer were not powerful enough to capture full scenes… We have come a long way, since..
    And imagine ‘automating’ these Snapshots…

i have classic Air M1 and 13” Air M3 and i don’t see any benefit of uaing bigger screen for GrooveRider. Everything is just, well, bigger thaťs all.

Actually, I like Griuverider better on smaller Air M1 :-)) I had also MINI and even on MINI it was great.

I suggested automating the memory slots in the Battlestation thread but based on the silence it’s not happening. The memories are not MIDI mapped either which precludes automating them externally. Would take that app to a new level IMO but I guess Bram wants to keep it simple.

You have clips in GR2 tho which Battlestation does not. I wish it had some way to step through rows of clips like Drambo does tho - a clip based song mode.

So much can be done with Memory/SnapShots… seems like a natural progression..
Maschine Lock demonstrates what can be done.. On IOS it would be sweet..
Do you really need to ‘step thru rows of clips’?
I think a snapshot of a state can remedy that, if I understand..

    But anyway..

GR-16 is great even on just a little ol' iPhone 12.

but yeah, 1 is great on iPhone, perfect UI

I can’t open GR16 pattens in GR2 if they use IAP sounds. Is there any way to import the packs I bought for GR16 into GR2?

  • I wonder if I’m missing anything or is the sample editing, specifically setting loop points, really basic to the point of being a bit useless? Getting a glitch-free loop is luck rather than anything, and it could benefit from crossfade (ideally) or at least auto zero crossing setting. Such as shame, love the app, and the original, but for samples it seems unfinished.

  • I wish i could use AUV3 FX as inserts in GR2... it's a very basic thing.

  • Hello all, is anyone using a Novation Launch Control to operate the GR2 mixer? I have been able to map the pan, send 1, send 2, and channel fader but I cannot figure out how to set up the solo and mute buttons to work with the LCXL.
Any help would be really appreciated as we all love a good workflow and this would be the icing on my cake.
    Thanks,
    Rud.

  • Hi all. Enjoying GR2 and I’ve created quite a few synth presets, the synth layer is one of the finest sounding VA synths on iOS IMO. Where are we sharing the .gr2 and .grb files?

One thing I’d like to ask though… is there a going to be a more useful render option to the sampler beyond basic resampling requiring a manual stop, maybe I’ve missed it? I very often would like to save CPU (my AUV3s in particular) by resampling a single pass of a recorded loop, auto trimmed perfectly to bars and beats. Audio rendering a loop by entering it as a sampler one shot instead, that sort of thing.. advice appreciated!

I don't think there's anyone here that knows about future development. The developer doesn't participate here and if there's a beta test group, no-one here has mentioned being a part of it. I think you'd need to contact the developer directly.

Sorry, I don't work with resampling workflow at all, so I don't have any advice.

I emailed Jim in the summer to ask him how to do this. This is what he said:

Sampler record sync: go to Settings -> Sync -> Sample Editor -> Record Sync

If you stop sample recording by tapping the Rec button of the Sample Editor while not touching the main transport buttons, it will also stop in sync and you'll get a trimmed sample.

  • That’s exactly it! Thank you so much. More should be made of this feature, especially with CPU-heavy auv3 hosting it frees up huge amounts of processing power. Thanks again!

I don’t think it’s possible on LCXL. It’s possible using the Launchpad X and Pro.

  • Thanks @dmori
I emailed Jim and he confirmed it is not possible. I have a Launchpad X and have had good fun using that.
I also mapped some of the LCXL knobs to the GR2 effects for more control and it works well.

A few weeks ago GR2 got updated to 1.3. It nows supports AUv3 effects for IFX slots, and multi-core audio processing.

    And a bunch more: https://thebeatcommunity.com/2026/03/24/groove-rider-2-has-been-updated-10/
