I had this happen once yesterday! Exactly as you’ve described.
I have also experienced this, but could not replicate on demand.
This just happened again (for about the 8th time). In this case, I opened Koala, swapped two sample pads, then closed the AUv3 window and none of the buttons circled in the picture would respond anymore:
@jimpavloff I updated to the latest version of GR2 last night so still a current issue. I'm using a 12.9" 5th gen running iPadOS 18.3.2. Thanks!
I’m not sure this is the fastest way to make him aware of the issue. His email is on this thread somewhere
Well done on the find of which buttons and pointing it out. I’m sure that will help a lot
AKAI APC40 support dropped. Tested, and it's dope. That said, I don't need to think about
getting Launchpad anymore 😁 This is waaay better, with ability to control nearly all knobs, comfortable muting, soloing, even details like tempo encoder working as expected, ability to switch between mixer, sound and clips view, crossfader working when transitioning patterns,... It's crazy powerful.
I can say my dream of a DAW/groovebox on iPad, integrated with APC40 has come true 🤩
Happened to me with Patterning 3 a couple times. Could not access "Save" so work/play was lost.
any progress on Zoom LiveTrak L-8 Audio inputs?
Nice! I’ve been considering buying an APC40 for a while. Now I have a good reason. Those knobs will make a big difference. I think BAM supports it out of the box too.
I tried using Harmonybloom in GR and nothing syncs. Everything is fine in all other programs. Cubasis Loopy EG nodes Aum. Only it doesn't work in GR2. I've already looked at all the settings. It's not synchronous anyway. What could be the problem?
It's something about the samplerate I think. I have already written Jim about it!
I don't know. I haven't had any problems with synchronization for a long time. I thought at first that I was doing something wrong. Then I checked. No problem with Grooverider.
Yeah, I think there's nothing easy to be done right now. Scaler might have the same issue, but I haven't tried it.
I checked for Riffer, Ooda, and Zoa. All midi fx are synchronized. But Harmonybloom doesn't want to.
This is awesome news! Does the APC40 have a sequencer mode like on the Launchpad?
@Optahealth @oddSTAR I emailed Jim. He said he's aware of the issue but can't replicate. If anyone can find a repeatable way to replicate the issue he'll look into it.
not yet.
I don't think so, since it's not mentioned in the release notes (the manual is not updated yet) and it's not a default feature of APC40 in e.g. Ableton Live (there are many scripts that can add it to Live though). I also haven't found a way to enter it.
Fortunately, I was never hyped about MIDI controller sequencing. To me, a MIDI controller was always a performance tool. If I were a great keyboard player or finger drummer (which I tried to but surrendered
), I'd use it for production too, but after some time I realised I can do all the production on an iPad itself, especially when GR2 has an amazing UI.
Since I am primarily a DJ, I have always looked for a way to get my production performed, with the benefit of adjustning any element live. Playing a bit with the sequencer would be nice, but I am OK with just e.g. muting each drum element or using "jump" to make variations and rolls etc... Generally, what Ableton Live is now: a great production environment, with the ability to play it live in a set, which I was always using on iOS.
