    Midi import!

    3 cheers, hurray! Hallelujah, Bravo!

Below is a copy of the email I sent to [email protected]. Got this email from the FB page, hopefully it's the right email, I've seen it posted here before, seems like a different email.

Thank you for creating the incredibly groovy GRII. Keep up the great work!

One request I have. I own the Zoom Livetrack L-8. In every other music app on IOS that has audio input, I have the option of choosing from the 12 mono inputs, or 6 stereo pairs of the Zoom L-8 .

In GRII I only get one input for the whole Zoom L-8, assuming it's the master.
Can you fix this so I can choose inputs? I have included screenshots below of how it looks in Loopy and Cubasis.

Thank you soooo much. Having so much fun with this app!

  • Anyone else getting a long note jammed into the piano roll when using the step sequencer function of the Launchpad (X)? Every time I’ve tried using the step sequencer, it’s added a bar? long note when I hit a pad to add or remove a step. I haven’t used the latest version, but it wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes.

    you're lucky.
because i have L-8 and i'll lend it him to address the issue.

  • @RajahP and others - Jim was kind enough to respond to my emails about midi import to drum racks. Apparently it's more involved than is apparent to get the drum racks working with imported midi, but he's thinking about how best to do it.

  • Hi guys, does anybody know how a midi controller works with GR2. I have a Korg Nanokey and it works but when I plays any keys it changed the Parts in GR2 if I plays the keys with the nanokey controller.
    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks 👋

  • Has anyone tried this on an iPad 8th generation? Cheers

Had so far no problems on mine. All factory projects played without stressing the cpu too much.

Change MIDI In Mode to Single Channel and make sure that Keys not Trigger is selected on the buttons above the pads.

Thank you very much. Yes, is selected the Trigger button, that was the fault. Now it works with the Nanokey Controller.

    Big thanks @wim 👋

  • am I blind or it is not possible to mute individual tracks in drum rack?

  • edited May 2025

Edit: never mind. I was talking bollocks

  • Sorry if this has been answered already. Can the sampler take input from other tracks (ie resample)?

  • Any of you guys using the launchpad pro know if the transport controls are mapped, just trying to make my mind up between a pro and an x..

    T.i.a

Yep, you can do that in the sample editor

    oh wow. I think you're right. 😳

The only way I can see is to select the notes in the sequencer with the mute notes tool.

    that's messed up.

a pity.. i wanted it for live performance, so muting notes in seq os really not an option…

will try write to jim, i have some idea, maybe … ;)

I'll write to him too. That's a pretty essential feature. I think he'll agree.

    Hi everyone!

Are there any users of GR-2 with the supported Launchpads?
I am especially intrigued if it is usable together with the crossfader feature for live performance. Without the MIDI controller, you can't control any of the track UI - the newly opened track starts playing over the previous one and you can only control the crossfader window.
I would like to know if the Launchpad, by any chance, works "in the background" and is able to control e.g the patterns triggering in session mode, ideally for the newly opened track. Is it just a dream?
You will save me buying and returning the controller
    Thank you!

Wild it took this long for anyone to notice, (unless someone did mention it and it got lost in the shuffle) that’s a bit of an omission!

Definitely makes it more understandable how he missed that. Being several months into the release. Good catch. Hopefully he agrees and implements an easier way to mute drum rack tracks.

Oh many noticed, I assure you. We just work around this issue.

Same with the inability to target just the kick from the drum rack with the sidechain compressors. At first I thought I must be missing something but then I checked that even Jim had to have kick on a separate part for it to work.

Do any of you guys know what the button combo is on the launchpad pro to edit the perforce page layout so I can add extra blocks, the manual doesn't give any mention of it?

Edit. Ignore me, user error, I didn't realise you just shift the grids and select a new pad mode.. DOH 🤦‍♂️

He told me in an email that he doesn't know a good way to work it in but will put it on a wish-list for consideration the future. Meanwhile, he said that parts requiring individual treatment should be on their own tracks as you mention. I love that Jim is clear and up-front with his answers.

  • I am creating some really great stuff with GR2 and love the workflow! That said, I seem to be encountering an occasional bug where after adding an AUv3 app, some of the control buttons stop responding. I can still stop/start for example but not select layers or any of the buttons along the bottom. I generally have to quit and relaunch the app to get around that. Anyone else experiencing this?

I had this happen once yesterday! Exactly as you’ve described.

I have also experienced this, but could not replicate on demand.
