    Maybe a tip jar?

At minimum. It's just a good idea to give people a way to pay back all the work done.

Would you please charge for this app? No one is going to go broke if you make it $2.99 or $4.99 or whatever. No one is demanding you provide these apps for free, for goodness sake.

Perhaps it's not possible, depending on the licensing of other code, or whatever agreement was made with Adam Bell. But personally, I have bought a couple of Matthew's apps because of King of FM. And that's true for other developers who release great free apps. Monolit, Roughrider—I might not have any BLEASS or Audio Damage stuff without those. So I think free stuff can be pretty good marketing.

And besides, there's something really special about creating stuff in a spirit of generosity. As long as nobody is bothering anyone for updates 🙂

I don't know what the reasons are, but I also don't want to see Matt face problems or get stretched too thin trying to make a living elsewhere while spending a ton of time on apps which can't cover his expenses and time spent.

Massive thanks first off for all your patience. I really appreciate it.

I was working non-stop trying to get it out in May, but some unexpected stuff came up, plus I've got family travel this month.
Pushing that hard wasn't great for my health honestly, less sleep than I'd like, and my left eye's been giving me grief, it's been harder to see out of...

Our friend Jakob haQ reminded me that it's okay if the app comes out June instead of May, not worth burning out for, and he's totally right.

So, I'm looking at a June release now. The good news is, the app is already significantly better than it was even a couple of weeks ago thanks to a little breathing room.

Thanks again for understanding! Really looking forward to getting it into your hands next month.

You rascal, you. Lol. Jk Matt. Been eagerly anticipating this one. Can’t wait!

Thanks everyone, I will be adding a tip jar if you feel compelled to support the efforts 🙏

The app has to be completely free for many schools to use it. Even a 99 cent purchase isn’t allowed.

Schools are already developing lessons plans with it for the fall school year 🎹

The software schools are forced to use is very boring. This will give the kids something really cool to play with!

  • A Juno in June.

Respect Matt! This is a truly great gift to the kids :) And to the teachers as well!

Oh to have grown up in an era where I could have learned with a handheld Juno at school. Fantastic that this will stay free for educational use, but definitely get that tip jar in there.

Thanks a lot for the good work. I am looking forward to it. The idea to create a synthesizer that can be used at schools is great.
And take good care of your health and enjoy life. From my own experience this not only benefits oneself, friends and family. It benefits the code as well.
