Revolutionary Al-Powered Drum Designer

*** "There's simply no other plugin out there with this exact functionality - Playbeat is the most powerful tool for rhythmic pattern creation and opened up a world of new possibilities for producers, composers and musicians" ***
- Musicradar -

Playbeat 4 features new, cutting-edge algorithms and revolutionary genre-based pattern generation, allowing for endless new patterns, sounds, and grooves.
No two beats will ever be the same, offering an entirely fresh and dynamic experience every time you create.

Playbeat ensures that the generated patterns are usable, musical, and fresh, providing you with unmatched precision and control.
Whether you're creating drum patterns, feeding modules with MIDI, or generating endless remixes on the fly.

Our new genre-based randomization feature lets you select your preferred music styles and generate patterns tailored to those choices.
You have full control over the complexity of the beat and can specify whether you need complete drum tracks, individual sounds, or patterns only.

SMART BY DESIGN
Unlike other groove creators that are limited to one specific algorithm, Playbeat innovates by using advanced local A.l. algorithms to create or remix completely original grooves that never repeat and always sound great!

POWERFUL SEQUENCERS
With up to eight totally independent sequencers which can combine Real-Time Pitch Shifting including scales and tunings, our signature Density feature, Track delay, Volume, Pan and more, Playbeat can create or remix infinite combinations of patterns in the most creative way. Load up any audio file, edit or randomize the values and samples instantly. Let Playbeat take over and let it perform for you using our signature Infinity mode. There is no limitations on what comes out!

REMIX, PERFORM & EDIT
With Playbeat's totally new algorithms you now have the option to create unlimited remixes of patterns based on your current pattern to fit your entire song.
Edit your samples on the spot, and generate a new, fresh set of Remix patterns again and again.. and again. Our highly acclaimed multi-functional keyboard allows you to trigger individual sounds, pattern sequences, or full drum grooves with ease.

PRESET & SAMPLE MANAGEMENT
The new sample management and Preset management system allows you to add any folder from your device, browse any sample and quickly drag and drop any sample to the Sequencers & Sample Slots to create your Kits. Each Preset can be Previewed, categorized by Genre, or even swap Samples & Groove Patterns from different presets.

CREATE EXPORT/IMPORT YOUR OWN PACKS
You have the option to create your own personalized packs, all with your own Artwork, Name, Description and tagging, which you can export and share with another user on iPad or Desktop.

Playbeat comes with a built-in factory library of patterns, sounds and 1500 kits, fueling its powerful Al algorithms to generate dynamic drum tracks.

  • I really like this companies products but their graphic designer must be wearing binoculars while designing as the fonts etc are sooooooo small for my eyes on mini7.

  • I bought most of the packs for Playbeat 3 but I don’t see a way to get them into Playbeat 4.

  • Is this app only focused on electronic music? When I read "revolutionary genre-based pattern generation" I was looking forward to Playbeat 4 being a real competitor for Lumbeat drummers, but there's nothing like jazz, funk, rock or metal in the list of genres.

  • Great work @Audiomodern love your vision for making music 👊🏼🎚️💗

    Thank You!!

Two things I noticed first trying this:
    1. Microscopic UI, not made for the mobiles.
    2. Surfing through the presets, all samples seem studio ready, processed with fx and all. Sounds great.. like full productions, but really is that fun and creative?

They definitely don't listen users in this case

  • Looks and sounds great. More expensive than anticipated, given that Playbeat 3 launched at $10 on iOS.

They mention drag and drop of midi to daw. Does this work on iOS, too, or is desktop only as in Scaler 2?

I remember a post from them on their forum earlier this year. This is what they wrote:

Hi, Playbeat primarily caters to electronic styles and subgenres, but we’ve incorporated some acoustic elements in the upcoming version. If there’s increasing demand for these styles, we’ll ensure to expand further as our AI features are updated.

  • Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Smaller-than-necessary text, and the contrast between text brightness and background shading is too low for comfortable visibility. I eventually gave up on Playbeat 3 (and other Audiomodern apps) for exactly this reason; even on a 12.9in iPad Pro I struggled to see text on the UI.

Earlier, when I asked about moving packs from Playbeat 3 to 4, I hadn’t yet purchased the Playbeat 4 unlock. I’ve since decided not to, mainly because the text is nearly illegible to my elderly geezer’s eyeballs.

  • Some of their other plugins (SOundbox?) now have a setting to increase the GUI text size, but I don't see that option in settings here.

  • I did a quick demo run on the free version:

  • Amazing! The free version is incredible complete!

Thank you @bleep. So doors are still opened, nice to hear that.

  • Can we import our packs from playbeat 3 ?

  • I would like to se what are the plans for Playbeat? Will we get Playbeat 5 in 2026 that will be not compatible with previous versions? If yes, I will Look for other apps.

This is what I suspect with a $10 price increase on a yearly basis :sunglasses:
My eyes don't co-operate with the UI so it's a no-go for me...

Nice BUT …. The update version for NON-iOS users is 29 EUR …

  • These guys make good stuff, but the lack of basically ANY effort to optimize for mobile is a huge turn off.

Also, while it’s nice the features are all under one roof, you can do soooo much more combining a few other apps.

It’s almost impossible to beat using OCTACHRON and Sintala if you want samples or FAC Drumkit if you want synths. If you’re gonna drop almost $30 on an app, Patterning 3 would eat this alive.

Melodic sequences of the type you get from Riffer can be done, and done better with Cykle.

If you want the “press a button and make ‘music’” approach, just use GarageBand or Launchpad…

I’d be less jaded about them if they spent any effort to make them better on mobile.

What features need Unlock? Or might be easier to ask what's in the free to try out?

iPad minis are practically mobile devices.

While there is nothing wrong with looking at alternatives, one thing I've learned is everyone has a different flow. If something isn't for you, move on. This is going to be a good experience for many. There is no "better" gear, software, or even workflow in the creative space. The only 'better' is to play more for we have a boat load of options to pick from.

Trust me, I can be found saying the same stuff and it really is not what we are about as creatives.

I believe all of the PB3 Packs are included in PB 4. It looks like they have 3 new ones @ $10 a pop for PB4.

    I love this app!!!

I've already generated 50 custom loops to be inspired by...that AI generator is slick...great work @Audiomodern !! Playbeat 4 is one of those instant inspiration apps that helps getting into FLOW states that much faster.

Now to cut them up and rearrange them to suit my needs :)

fwiw, the UI feels fine on my 12" iPad Pro and I wear glasses, but have generally decent vision.

Just learn what each section does, and it becomes quickly habit forming....

Thanks for the screenshot! Based on this - I'm going to try it. This is a smart move by the dev.

I can really utilize this with Loopy Pro: just bake in the sounds and variations in loop format.
Of course saving presets would be ideal - but using it with Loopy Pro will definitely help me create right away - with zero investment.

    Hello echo.

How does it work in Drambo.

    Multiout ?

A song mode with any Drambo triggers that can witch patterns etc ?

Or is gonna be best just splicing or extracting grooves etc for the sake of completing songs ?

  • No worries ( its free to download )

  • Just wondering….. People complaining that the GUI is too small on this and other apps why don’t they put their reading glasses on?

  • edited March 6

    Nice app.

I always have my reading glasses on for using the iPad. These apps are still too small, the colour contrast and line weights aren’t accessible.
