I've found their Soundbox app tends to be crashy and a bit unstable. As long as I keep the instances to a minimum... it's tolerable.
I really tried this app but it looks that they didn't well tested before release. Almost impossible to use. Crashing after few bars played. It is also weird in my opinion that theu have intro price on desktop version and on mobile version is full price from the beginning.
Too much for me. I have Playbeat 3 and would like to buy this just for the MIDI AU but not prepared to spend £30 on an single drum app. @Audiomodern - would you consider some kind of upgrade path bundle?
Agreed, I have desktop Playbeat 4 and Playbeat 3 on iOS, bundle price would be ideal.
There's a lot to like about Playbeat 4, but I'll wait to see if they offer a bundle deal with Playbeat 3, esp as there is a desktop upgrade deal. As it stands, UA Battalion has a prior call on my £30 drum machine budget right now.
Yes ….the Desktop Upgrade is 29 EUR …
You may want to check out the Audiomodern forum and make an inquiry. A few people there have asked about the same thing:

Or a phone call +30 6937761777 is the AUDIOMODERN number
Thanks. Good suggestions.

Issue resolved.
Shame I get static across multi instance of the app ( when remixing ) as its quite good for DJ also.
Havent used dj fx and ios fx should be as good as any.
Made a mixer thing.
I would add a stem player to the app.
When stem is played.
Next stem will auto load and then a toggle command ( midi mappable from my mixer thing )
To toggle between stem and AI track.
Quite unique fx on ipad.
Only got 3 fx.
The mix at 6.28 lol.
Theres obviously also flangers and bit crusher etc.
Even stuff like brohasier.
Theres just the static noise though when you remix ( even from the other player )
Id buy a midi bt fader to go with an ec4.
Iv got a midi fader but its part of a turntable.
I trialled this on iOS and figured it would work better for me on desktop so bought the VST. quite happy so far, if nothing else the samples are interesting
can anyone tell me how to encourage the AI to do fills rather than "beats"...should I program my own fills, save them and add them to the AI group so it analyses them as a desirable outcome - would this also then colour all of the AI output (or only for the duration that the fills are selected for AI analysis via the selection icon). thanks!
Created a tutorial on using it with MIDI out and MIDI export in Logic Pro for iPad
See description for a link to the Logic Pro demo project or just grab it directly here:

Does anyone know if presets created in PB4 can then be exported and loaded back into PB3?
Updated.. it’s saying MiDi import.. wow.. digging in.. will buy.. 😇
Edit.. is this a ‘paid’ feature?
Not mentioned in the "what's new" but it also has options to increase the font size.
I've been lurking in the Audiomodern forum and a lot of these updates and changes are based on user feedback. There's been a lot of activity from the dev team (for all platforms of it) since release and they are still going.
Font size was listed in previous update, v4.0.6, of about a week ago.
I can't tell yet if it's a paid feature. I have the unlocked version and I'm guessing the way it works is that you can drag and drop a MIDI file from the Files app in slide-over mode onto the tracks or into the MIDI Import page in settings, but I must be doing something wrong. I’ve tried using MIDI files exported from Playbeat and also Logic Pro with the notes mapped in the MIDI Import settings matched to the contents of the MIDI file (e.g. Track 1 = C1, Track 2 = D1, etc.), but no notes appear. If anyone has had success please post the info.
Pics from what I’ve tried:
Bought the unlock.. and can’t figure it out also.. same as you..
Update - per Audiomodern the current version 4.0.7, "the MIDI import currently only considers the first track," however I've tried importing a single track MIDI file and I'm still unable to get it to work. They also indicated that they may be able to modify it to deal with multiple tracks and merge them into one.
any news about stability? Anyone uses the app on gigs/recordings and is it stable enough for present version?
I've used it a lot (not live, though) and unlike with v3, which was rather unstable for me, have had no crashes at all with v4.
It's the silly color palette, causing it to crash. It doesn't want to exist.
Playbeat 3 is stable on my 5th gen ipad
Don't for get to use a loupe with Playbeat. Settings are best done with a toothpick.
As mentioned above, the font size can be changed in the settings menu but even after increasing the size some of the text still looks small.
I haven't had any crashes or issues at all with Playbeat 4 on iPad Pro 4th gen, OS 17.6.
Most of the interface doesn't work with Apple Pencil Pro for me. Faders just jump back to original position. iPad Pro 11inch M4.
Is there something I am doing wrong. I noticed this happens in Scaler3 on mixer faders also.
Making those PB4 free packs incompatible with PB3 was super whack.
