I missed that feature somehow. How do you delete a portion of a loop?
Hold and release on the eraser button, Doug shows it pretty early in the video (but omit a whole load of other stuff)
Yeah but he (and I) expect it to stop with the host stopping, you shouldn't have to open an app to stop it if you have choosen host sync.
I was merely suggesting a way of controlling the circles with a controller, it was not a solution for the host sync.
Ah, cool. Thx 🙏
Yeah, it's kinda strange, I guess ppl can email audiodamage if it bothers them and ask why it is not set up to do that
Sorry, I edited my text several times while testing what I could do, I was referring to this.

No worries, glad it helped. Cheers.
No, it doesn’t for me. My fingers have been pressing through the glass and no change. I think it might be related to what @skiphunt mentioned so I will have a look. Thank you @skiphunt for the pointer.
Difficulty in grabbing the loop start and end points is not a problem for other people? It bugs the crap out of me, I'm surprised not to hear more people mentioning it. If others don't have problems, it might be an issue specific to my setup. Anyone? Can you consistently grab quickly and move the start and end points? Does it sometimes not work? Does it ever cause the playhead to jump unintentionally?
Just checked. Usually I’m using a Pencil stylus and it generally works quite reliably with the start and end points. Trying just now with fingers though, you’re right, it’s horribly unreliable and frustrating to use.
It's terrible yes. Pencil is the only reliable way to use it, which is not acceptable. I already reported this on beta and nothing was done, could others please complain if it bothers them, by emailing Audio Damage? Thnx

Yes, very hit and miss for me - sometimes end up scrubbing the audio instead, which is definitely not what I intended to do!
It’s aggravating for sure. It was worse before, but the very last beta update improved it significantly… but only on one side. The other (right) side is still hard to adjust. I think they’re aware of it though, and I’m confident it’ll be remedied soon.
Glad it’s not just my clumsy fingers or aging eyesight…. I play a woodwind, and don’t see myself using something where I have to put down the instrument and pick up a pencil for clip editing - it’s less frustrating to do it in loopy by pulling up the edit panel. Really makes circa a non starter for this kind of use live.
Re slices in loopy, isn’t that exactly what the clip slicer widget is for? Though it’s not as elegant as having them drawn on the clip itself.
Loop markers aren’t too bad for me, but could be more consistent. What really is bothering me is the buggy behavior of Layer 1. The host sync is all screwed up, and if I record something and hit Play to end recording, nothing gets recorded. If I stop recording with Overdub, it does record.
I am having a hard time finding the midi parameter to start a loop. I have tried so many parameters and I can not seem to program a button to start recording.
I'm not sure I read you right but there must be a sound. You can't start a recording and then play, I think. Also, on the left side there's a setting for 'Trigger Level' that might need adjusting if you have sound but still no recording.
I think you need to set that up in the app itself, see the Modulation section of the manual:
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1550/9885/files/Circa_1.0_Manual.pdf
You may have to use the internal modulations control in the lower panel area. There are many destinations in there related to REC/PB/OD/TRIG. But I don’t see them in the exposed AU parameters.
Thank you all very much! I guess I just needed to RTFM. I appreciate pointing me in the right direction!

@UrbanNinja, @Robin2 et al in this part of the thread:
There is a growing library of ready-made projects on PatchStorage:
https://patchstorage.com/platform/loopy-pro/
Some of those projects are ready-to-go and be used and some are projects to crib ideas from. 2.0 has some better sample projects that cover some common workflows -- and those will expand over time. There will also eventually be a browsable template library -- but those things take time to put together.
I won't steal any more time from this thread -- but if the problem for getting started is lack of ready-to-go templates -- create a thread describing what you want/need. I've posted a number of projects on patch storage that grew out of a particular request.
Thanks @espiegel123. Yes, I’m aware of the template projects on Patch Storage and very useful they are too.
The only problem with templates is that you get the whole template whereas you may only want one particular feature set up within that template.
What i was suggesting though was some sort of prefabricated, pre-hooked up widgets for common functions which were available within the app. As such, the user would only have to define the clip/s those functions would be applied to and adjust specific parameter settings (as they would in any effect) rather than hooking everything up behind the scenes from scratch which, like it or not, is clearly confusing and a huge turn off for many users.
Then, expert users like yourself could perhaps set up bespoke widgets for specific functions and share them on Patch Storage. That’s kind of what is needed - a way to package together widgets and specific functions/setups and share them so they can be used by anyone without loading a full project template. Similar, i guess, to how Drambo modules can be set up and saved as racks…ready to be shared on Patch Storage and used by anyone.
The challenge for Loopy Pro and for @Michael, as far as i can see, is to somehow make its extraordinary versatility more accessible. I absolutely accept that as users we need to invest time into learning software to get the most out of it but having read many, many Loopy specific enquiries posted here on the forum, it is clear that lots of people do find it very difficult to set things up within it. It needs a built in version of yourself, @espiegel123, always available for anyone to ask, ‘How do i do this?’!
Hi all,

for those who are encountering non-stopable loops: there's a per-loop sync setting.
When you start Circa for the first time, the left loop is not set to 'sync'.
That did the trick for me.
cheers
Anyone know if this will ever come to iPhone?
Thanks for sharing.
Nice one!
Just picked it up. I love Audio Damage’s interface design, and Circa is no exception, it’s gorgeous. Took no time at all to get some loops going. Super fun, super creative. I think this will get a lot of use. Sure, I could build something similar in Loopy Pro, but it would be a lot of work. This is focused on a particular thing and it does it really well.
It now stops, but it doesn’t start until I trigger it with a sound. I guess there’s another button somewhere for this. 🤷♂️
@Mountain_Hamlet
Did you tap "play all" before starting the host?
The playback controls in Circa behave different than expected, they are more like status controls.
If a layers status is 'playing', it follows the host, if it's status is stopped it is stopped, independend from the host.
It works exactly as written in the manual for me.
Btw. - be patient, all start/stop activity is allways quantized to the next bar.
