This .. those damn low-cost encoders were dying too quickly .. and there were even bugs (i got few freezes, not often, but it is a> @DblU said:
Important to mention - there is not much iOS non-modular synths with audio rate LFOs and oscillator/filter FM modulation .. Definitely none with such amount od modulation posibilities, so in some way Blofeld is absolute unicorn on iOS
Last night I imported HGF-Blofeld-Waveset-A-128.wpc through the samples tab.. import went fine.. could see all the samples.. tried to scan through them and pick something lower down the list and it wouldn’t pick that sample.. it would always bounce back to the top of the list and pick one from that view.. there was no way to pick a sample lower down the list and have it stick.. sounds like it’s related to @Gavinski ’s issue.. settings don’t stick..
Woke up this morning, updated Blofeld + now that same list of samples has a red coloured font instead of white.. can’t even read it without the screen being as bright as possible.. 🤷♂️ and still can’t pick a sample lower down the list..
Will send an email to them after my morning coffee..
Looks good. Bought it and checking it out now. Sounds good. Having some fun.
AppStore thinks I might also like Microwave so I’ll maybe buy that. Oops! Already have it. 😳
Waldorf: many of us (me included) will pay again full price for AUv3 version of Nave. I just have to mention that.
Yeah I might have to pass on this until I either get a new device or I get confirmation it’ll work okay on it.
You all seen an update is out right? (apologies if someone else already posted on that)
What does it cover?

Thnx pxlhg - just checked, the problem I mentioned earlier is still not fixed in this update
Nice sound tho!
This works for me if I use the arrows first to adjust, but not if i use text entry lol. Either didn’t have a big/long enough beta, or some things got broken in the release version
I have to keep smashing at the Brilliance drop down to get it to work. This synth is definitely let down by poor UI/UX currently
Also getting crashes, it sometimes doesn't load at all when you reopen a session. Sometimes freezes. Super dodgy release, I hope they fix this, it's in a similarly sloppy ballpark to those disco DSP releases from last year. Must do better
I’m glad you posted that…that helps my decision to wait much easier
Absolutely !!!
Just noticed one thing i completely forgot about Blofeld. All it's audio-rate capable LFOs have key tracking.
Not sure if all of you guys can appreciate how amazing is to have 3 socillators and 3 audio rate keytracked LFOs (so basically another 3 oscillstors) capable of FM modulating each other in any thinkable combination.
Monstrosity.
I swipe up/down on the numerical field (like Brilliance) to adjust the values, single tap brings up the value entry which I seldom use as the swipe resolution is enough for most of the 0-127 value ranges.
Oddly enough I've not had a single crash with Blofeld yet and I've been messing with it a LOT.
I would happily ditch the on-screen keyboard/play-surface to make the rest of the UI a bit bigger especially since the on-screen keyboard doesn't even transmit midi...
Or you buy now at the discounted price and hope for the best in terms of eventual fixes.
That’s exactly my dilemma.
Although I must admit I'm now a bit unnerved with IK Multimedia's decision to drop MixBox CS. One never knows when their favorite app/software might suddenly become obsolete. Hopefully no one bought it very recently and then was surprised with this news.
With all the bugs, crashes and issues it seems that they really did a good job in making an exact copy of it
I really hope these will be fixed so we can (finally) have a fully functional Blofeld.
Thinking about that too but tbh I’d rather buy at full price and have peace of mind, especially if I’m already having doubts if my iPad could even run it well enough
Running this on a 2020 iPad Air without an issue (so far). I have three instances running in NanoStudio2 (yes, I'm a holdout) without any performance issues. I do see CPU usage is high, but not in the red, and everything is still working fine.
Granted, I'm just dialing in presets, playing and recording. I have tried messing with anything else in the app yet. The presets have gotten all my undivided attention.
That’s good to know… I’d only be using one instance , and I generally convert each track to an audio file in GarageBand after I record it to save space and save memory too
same experience here 3 hours of tweaking, 5 instances, no single one issue, rock solid stable, everything works like a breeze… latest iPad Mini
Yeah exactly !
🤣🤣🤣
The preset starts arp‘ing when pressing a single key and after a 2seconds glitches/crackles and the audio stops, even though the output volume meter still moves around.
When the key is released, the sound returns.
This happens with the the initial version and the update used standalone on my iPad 10.5 Pro. Maybe my iPad is a bit too old ;-)
BTW: One can fix the problem by lowering the release time of the Amp Envelop by a small amount.
Hi Feld.
Working without problems in Ipad Air M2.
I would ditch the virtual keyboard too. I rather have a bigger control screen.
Yep, and sample banks made with Spectre 😊
Count me in!!!!
