How did it go? Any news? 😛

iOS coming soon, Gav did a video. It sounds incredible. J. Chowdury (modeling engineer) has been cooking it up with BA for 4 years to create a unique, modern - yet familiar drum synthesis experience.

Probably won't see it on iOS for several months, I reckon. It was confirmed for iOS tho

Another one?! Jeez how many is too many?

On the iOS, besides Sugar Bytes Drummachine I cannot think of anything that goes this deep in drum synthesis as this. So I hope we will see this very soon on the mobiles.

    Deeper than Battalion?

    Deeper than Battalion?

The synthesis part is definitely deeper, but it lacks a sampler layer and an entire sequencer. It’s pure drum synth.

And unless I misread the description, one can also import samples (this is a feature not available in the demo).

Lack of a sampler-type unit was a surprise to me, but hey, you’ll probably use something more usable in that direction anyway. If you are right, I hope it’s a quick and usable sampler with a BA and Chow twist.

Advertising on the official page is misleading then?

This is something better addressed by Baby Audio's @tristan than just me guessing.

UPDATE: I just reviewed the entire Tekno user's manual and it says nothing about importing samples... so I accept the blame for what looks like a complete misunderstanding on my part. Apologies for that.

Which part is misleading? We actually make an effort to emphasize the "away with samples" approach in a lot of our Tekno content.
I can confirm that there aren't any sample/sampler functionalities beyond being able to drag drum hits out of Tekno. Importing audio isn't a feature yet, but it is on our list of things to look into as we continue developing the instrument!
Hope that clears things up — let me know if you have any other questions!

  • @tristan i think they were responding NeuM's suggestion that Tekno could import samples, in which case the "drums without samples" copy would be misleading, in a sense

It was a rhetorical question directed towards Neum, everything is clear on my side. 🤗 I stated many times on this forum how I like pure drum synths without half-baked samplers or sequencers.

I amended my comments (above). I misread something which gave me the wrong impression about being able to import your own samples. It is not the case as of today. But I do like Tristan's comment that they may update Tekno in the future to include it.

  • No worries guys! Really excited to bring this one to iOS. You blew us away — one of the highlights of this release was definitely the response from you all!

  • Does desktop have multi-out?

  • Personally I don’t care for Tekno to load samples. We all have so many app that can do that already.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • This sounds fantastic. > @ecou said:

+1. The point of apps is how they do things differently. Keep this simple and focussed on being an amazing drum synth.

  • Hey guys,
Just shared a little peek at some work in progress. Wasn't able to upload the photo here, but you can find it here:
    https://forum.babyaud.io/t/announcing-our-flagship-drum-synthesizer-tekno/207

No solid ETA, and we aren't opening the TestFlight to external testers just yet. Simply showing signs of life!

  • Looking good. Can’t wait. 👊🏼💗🎚️

  • That's very exciting news!

    Yes! Sorry for not specifying.

  • Great! Really looking forward to this one ✌️

After playing with the demo for a couple hours, yah this was a no brainer. Simple and sweet. So nice for dialling drums in to the mix and they really do sound amazing.

Intro sale is still on and there is a 10% off code at the top of the site too, so was around 50% off.
