What additional developments would you expect from Lumbeats based on historical events?

For me, it would be some kind of built-in envelope follower for drum intensity (stick/snare, hat/ride), like the one I emulated for FunkDrummer using MMM. And second one I miss is something like "Tap2Find" from Toontrack EZDrummer.

I would be perfectly fine with a model where I pay $20 for the core of a new app (which AUv3 Pop Drummer is), which would include 1 drummer, 1 drum set, and a few rhythms. Then I would pay for additional drummers, drum sets, MIDI OUT, Sound module mode, Song mode, Live Pads, connection with other drummer apps, etc. in IAP.

no cashcow here, no sub. deleted
just don't buy the sub and things will change.

Also, I haven’t said anything against you stating your opinion.

Yes, fully aware of that. Apologies if I made it seem otherwise.

  • Subscription? No thanks.

Same. Apologies for my preachiness. Hate it when I do that.

  • So, will other updated drummers with Auv3 also be subscription? I think I have like 9, or how will that work out…
Looking forward to multi-out, and send groove (Auv3) to other drums, iBassist.. Think that is the heart of Lumbeat Apps..

This is the bit that worries me - I can avoid buying new apps with the sub, but what’s going to happen to my existing purchases?

I’ll have paid £20 for an app that is now free, so If they’re updated with the new sub and I don’t subscribe, will it have an effect on the existing functionality?

I think based on the latest release, you'll find out when, if auv3 comes to the other apps. I don't think prior warning/discussion is part of the Lumbeats model.

  • Wow, I didn’t know the subscription model had that much “love” 😅

Thanks for all your feedback! I see the confusion... it’s true the subscription idea wasn’t explained clearly.

The original plan was a yearly fee that would cover Pop Drummer and future updates with Auv3 and new features for the rest of Lumbeat drummers, helping us keep the project sustainable and growing.

But Lumbeat was built on trust, with one-time purchases, and it’s clear that’s still what you expect. So, we’ll switch Pop Drummer to a one-time In-App purchase, and maybe add optional extras like new drum kits, bank grooves or other features later on.

It means adjusting our roadmap, but we’d rather move forward together with a community that feels part of Lumbeat.

The suscription is suspended, It has never been available, so it makes it easy for us to change the model quickly.
Pop Drummer will be updated asap :)

  • That’s really good to hear @LuisMartinez ❤️

  • Thank you Louis! <3 I look forward to the one-time in-app purchase.

  • @LuisMartinez Please do release new drum kits and grooves as IAP on a regular basis. Would love to support you this way.

  • Thanks Luis. Fair and clever move

LP is one of those rare birds that does everything right, including the payment model.

The subscription model for apps needs to go bye-bye.

@LuisMartinez i mean you no offense, but the disdain for the subscription model is well known. Had you communicated your intention to use this model before releasing the app you might have avoided this dance.

I sincerely hope this is a minor blip for the lumbeat product line. I love funk drummer and IBassist so much and plan to buy more, especially pop drummer. I’ll still support you, but please, don’t attempt to use recurring subscriptions again.

@LuisMartinez As a owner of most of your products, really Great to see the flexibility to understand iPad musicians and listen them this much.. Ready to Pay separately at least something like 5-10€ to every app if they are updated to auv3 - maybe even more for some.. Have had my share of subscriptions as easily hundreds per year (Studio one, LoopCloud, Logic Pro for iPad - which I kind of understand, Zenbeats.. the list goes on.. starting to stop those and invest in iPad apps - even there is not many of them left ;-)

  • Sounds like we’re almost ready to roll.
    Thanks @LuisMartinez for listening

  • Thanks for listening! I’ll also happily pay as an IAP to get AUv3 support in the individual drummers! (Got them all - and will get Pop Drummer too, as soon as the one-time unlock is in place!)

  • Gracias @LuisMartinez por escucharnos. Eres el mejor de todo. ¡Salúd! 🍻

  • What will be price of one time IAP payment?

    Totalmente en acuerdo!

@LuisMartinez Also, add a “Tip” jar iap to bless the developer. Or a “buy me coffee “ iap. I think the community really loves Lumbeat and thank you again for this amazing app!

  • This is such a great development @LuisMartinez !
I really appreciate you listening to the community this way. Looking forward to immediately paying the one time fee for pop drummer & I think a tip jar tap is a great idea. As an owner of the Latin, Indian, Mideast, Brazilian, Hip Hop, & Soft Drummers, I am also very looking forward to using them as auv3s, if possible!

    Thanks again!

  • Nicely done @LuisMartinez. That’s good business!
I had no plan to buy before but I will now.

Totally agree regarding the tip jar IAP! 😁👍

    @LuisMartinez Thanks a million for making it a one-payment app!!! ☺️🙏
(Sorry for the somewhat harsh words in my previous post 🤝, the thing is all of us in the music making community dislike subscriptions! 😅 - and I just wish more developers actually knew this 😉)

Hehe, I actually would do that every now and then but I guess I am weird here.
