Korg Gadget 1.1 Update
Can anyone comment on whether the random clicking in Bilbao and Abu Dhabi been addressed by the bug fixes?
I've been waiting to purchase these two gadgets (and hoping to do so now that they are on sale).
Comments
The random click is there and is worst in Abu dhabi, i still dont get it why Korg with those prices cant fix a simple bug, im pasting loops from DM-1
I've found the clicks hit or miss with Abu - sometimes it's noticeable - other times not so bad. The other day I imported a strummed guitar loop recorded from Guitarism into Abu Dubai and the clicks were barely there.. The slice points weren't even cut on transients - so I was expecting them to be there - but surprised to not hear them (at least in a mix with other gadgets playing)
Im hearing more clicks now in this version so maybe is not a good idea update
@Aphex I'm actually more interested in Bilbao, are you noticing issues with that as well (if you have tried it)?

i dont have it
Still no MIDI Support, no IAA, no UNDO, very dissapointing …
So what did they bring?
Support for Korg Module, which requires iOS 8
AND: now you have the choice to export compressed or uncompressed audio to Ableton.
I expected also MIDI export, but that's to much for a 40€ app ;-)
5 new gadgets. Improved Ableton support. MIDI over bluetooth. Bug fixes and improvements.
I don't get this last one tho "Any previous glitches have been fixed courtesy of the Restore function available on the gadget select screen".
korg is well known for a slow update rate and the last big one is just 2 months ago.thats nothing in the korg universe I did not really expected anything else than some minor bugfixes/improvements and the module integration.
8 weeks is nothing in the software world, I'd say. Korg have been on the ball with Gadget for sure.
Would've been nice if they would've thrown in a couple of the new Module Fx into the older Gadgets.. Not complaining though - still love Gadget

Maybe it fixes glitches in Bilbao and Abu Dhabi by re-downloading them, or applying a patch of some sort?

Come to think about it, they aren't included in the original Gadget package, so might be this. I'll report back tomorrow if the clicks/pops are gone in Bilbao.
I may be speaking prematurely here, but it appears they fixed the clicks in the two samplers. I scrolled to the bottom of the select Gadget screen, hit the restore purchases button, it loaded something for about 10 seconds, then it said all purchases have been restored...
I'm going through the kits in Bilbao now, and rapid firing them to see if I can trigger some clicks... And it seems a lot harder to get clicks. I mean, I can get a few to glitch out, but you really have to tap fast. Seems like they're not nearly as prevalent.
Yeah they definitely cleaned up the samplers, at least the default kits. Not sure if imported samples come through clean as well but I assume whatever they did, like a small fade in, works for everything.
To be clear here, you can still get minor clicks in some of the default kits but you really have to try to get them.
I didn't expect any new features but some improvements in the details, at least the possibilty to rename user samples. I am disappointed. Maybe I will vote with NOT purchasing the new gadgets.
My Gadget was broken, crashed out on load with 7.1.2 and Air. This update fixed that.
I am guessing yes for 86-ing the clicks. Makes sense, even if their description of it is nonsensical...
When I press restore, the progress wheel just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning...
It never seems to finish:-(
Anybody else experiencing this?
@Peter321 Yep, me
Damn it !
It takes a while, I got through it eventually. Their servers are pretty busy I guess. Anyway, it definitely does not fix the artificial pops Bilbao introduces on various samples (I've imported).
Alright, I'm restored finally
I stopped it after 45 minutes - will try again.
Restarted, it has now been running for 80 minutes - still spinning - WTF!
3 hours now - this is stupid, I'll try later and hope it gets fixed.
what is it about the restore?Did all of you deleted Gadget (yesterday) and therefore you had to restore your Abu and Bilbao purchase,or what?
They suggest restoring to remove glitches, from the update description:
"Any previous glitches have been fixed courtesy of the Restore function available on the gadget select screen".
So it seems like a good thing to do, maybe to update Abu Dhabi and Bilbao? - but not much info from Korg.
I didn't delete anything prior to restore and I didn't need to download anything after the restore.
