  • I got £34.99 as the V2 price and £39.99 as the ‘complete my bundle’ price.

  • Wow a very big price jump between version 1 and 2. Are the improvements that good ?

The IAP are pack of visual presets. You don’t need to buy them all.

In addition to all the basic rules of Complete My Bundle, there is also Apple adjusting non-US prices based on currency exchange rate changes and even tax changes. And a developer is able to set up regional prices as well.

But even with all the rules laid out and fully known, there can be wildly unexplained CMB amounts every now and then.

  • There is no option yet for a bundle in the UK store. I hope it’s easier to use than the first one.

The calculated bundle price depends highly on the initial purchase price of the apps included in the bundle...
...if any of the included apps has been downloaded for free or bought at a discount price completing the bundle will almost always be higher than purchasing the missing app or apps...

  • In short app sales and app price changes mess up the bundle-prices as it takes into account when the user actually bought the app and at what price when the app gets added to a bundle.

When a bundle is created the price is usually based on the current prices of the included apps and not the 'cheapest ever' prices...

That's a fair question I also wonder over.

Of course not, it all depends on how "unique" you wanna try to be. The default goodies are soon to be overused.

It’s there for me in the UK store.

    Thanks!

    That clarifies it all!

After speaking with some customers through our support channel, I was able to confirm that customers who recently purchased VS for €15 were being offered a €30 price to complete the bundle.

I have now updated the bundle price to €40. For customers who purchased VS for €15, the upgrade price will be €25.

This aligns with our original goal: to provide a €25 upgrade path. VS 2 will be priced at €50 after April 1st. Until then, it is available for €40 (20% off the final price).

If someone was fortunate enough to purchase VS 1 at a bargain price, they will receive a smaller discount on VS 2. I’m simply not comfortable setting the introductory price too low.

This is the best price the bundle will be offered at.

Ultimately, the decision is yours. VS 2 comes with a wide range of official tutorials that clearly showcase its capabilities and overall quality. You can explore them here:

I see it now - thanks. £31.50 to complete the bundle.

I do think your own imagination is gonna make you unique not some IAP.

I made this with a fairly simple visualizer app. The background graphic is made by me in Affinity Photo ipad. The moving elements are the visualizer app.

  • With how VS1 melted my iPad, I'm hesitant to give this a shot.

@sinosoidal have any optimizations been made under the hood, or should users expect the system requirements to be higher on VS2?

VS 1 melted your iPad? Please elaborate...

VS 2.1 has an optimized render engine where it is no longer using OpenGL. It uses Metal.

VS1 would consistently make my ipad reach uncomfortable temperatures, when using presets by itself.

Switching to metal over OpenGL likely helps this a lot, thank you.

What's your iPad model? VS is a GPU intensive app. It will always heat up any iPad.

  • @sinosoidal Thanks for confirming the bundle has now stabilised. Have now purchased v2 via the bundle (£25), and the IAPs from v1 seem to have transferred OK following your procedure listed above. I’ll have to spend some time with it (probably tomorrow) to be sure it’s all there, but the packs downloaded OK.

  • @sinosoidal : I have a 12.9 M1. Should I be ok with v2?

  • £35 to upgrade for me - that’s a bit toooo rich. I get that it’s a bundle pricing issue, and don’t blame the dev. It’s given me a nudge to dive into the first one properly.

  • Bundle and the new version cost the same for me. I’m with @Herne on this one - don’t think it’s something I can justify until I feel limited by the first.

You have probably got VS 1 via promo code or took advantage of a huge sale which I believe it has never happened for VS.

Do you have your Apple receipt? I would love to confirm the theory.

  • Or maybe he bought the Complete Bundle to get VS1, which - I think - does not allow using the same app in another bundle.

  • Did a hunt in my accounts, looks like I got the original for £3.49 in ‘22. Think I’m gonna try the desktop, got a plan to convert my old workshop into an audiovisual jam space that we can stream from while we’re surrounded by projected visuals. I want to try to have the visuals and music feed each other in both directions; visuals cueing chord and harmony shifts while intensity and rhythm of music pushes the visuals…

@danbun was correct. I got the complete bundle at some point for $10 and you can’t cross grade bundles.

No offense on my previous comment btw. Just because it’s not something I can justify doesn’t mean it’s priced unfairly.

Are v. 1 presets usable in v. 2? Some have similar or same names, but cost a few bucks less...

In order to sync your VS1 purchased packs with VS2 perform as follows:

    • Open VS 1, log in to your Imaginando account, and perform a restore purchases (Menu → Store → Restore Purchases).
    • Then, log in to VS 2, and the packs will sync back to VS 2.

Please try it and let me know how it went.

    Works perfectly

Make sure you have or make an imaginando account. You are not using your Apple ID or account password.

I think I will be the same - I’ve completed the ‘complete bundle’ at some point. Apple’s system seems designed to frustrate both devs and customers sometimes.

  • I bought VS1 just before VS2 was announces, which made me a bit less motivated to learn it. Let's try to catch up with VS2 then!

  • We could really use a full language reference, for the specific implementation of GLSL in this app.
