  • Hi Folks,

Just to let you know that a v1.3.0 update was released last night. Few things that may be of interest:

    • Fix for extreme filter cutoff and / or resonance modulation causing audio clicks at end of osc amp envelope.
    • Fix for master MOD DEPTH not being calculated properly. If you had this set to +100%, you'll be fine. Otherwise, you might want to review your own presets - really sorry about that one.
    • Additional MIDI control options for modulation depth - added: polyphonic aftertouch, breath, expression, CC#14-17 and keyboard (pitch tracking).
    • Additional 25 (Bank C) factory presets.
    • Updated User Guide - added note about MOD AND MIDI - worth reading just that short section, if you can spare a moment.

For those patiently awaiting the macOS release, really sorry, but I'm afraid I've re-submitted a version that includes all the changes up to v1.3.0 as the original submission was getting so far behind now with the last few updates. Hopefully Apple will get to review it before Xmas... :|

Also, hate to be a pedant, but @egobeats - any chance you could edit the title to reflect the on-brand casing please? It's ANALOGy8.

The idea is you shout the ANALOG part, then add the "ee eight" in your normal speaking voice. :)

  • ANALOGy8.

Ah, Rob Jackson app names, AKA "YouTubers Bane" 😅 😛

    What a chowhound!

  • I am a big fan of your apps and own most of them, but I have to say: This one really stands out. It sounds fabulous.

  • Can’t wait to check it out. Love the demos!

  • Thanks so much @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr - much appreciated!

  • I’m still tripping about the dials

  • It’s ANALOGy8! 😡

    Yay - thanks @wim - I feel better now :)

And many thanks @gusgranite - much appreciated!

Also, an update on the macOS version... TLDR; still awaiting review :/

Apple Developer Support finally got back to me. :o The conversation (so far) goes something like this...

    1. Me: My iOS version has been approved, but the macOS version has been waiting for review for over a week. Wassup?
    2. Apple: We are pleased to say your app was approved May 4th.
    3. Me: That was the latest iOS version. What about the macOS version?
    4. Apple: Please respond if you need further assistance or if your app isn't available in the store within 24 hours.
    5. Me: Um... Ok... I'm not sure you understand...

To be continued. Hopefully, also, to be released. :|

I should try and pitch this gripping comedy drama as an Apple Original TV series...

I could call it Rob's Got App Store Review Problems.

    Howdy Folks,

Happy to say that the macOS (v1.3.0) version has finally been approved.

25 more presets (v1.4.0) coming to both versions (dare I say...) soon.

    Cheers, -Rob

  • That's great news! Thank you for this beautiful synth, Rob.

    Nice!

Before the Inevitable Questions: The usual App Store stupidity. When you purchased an app before it became available on another platform, it says you need to buy it. You have to go through the whole process of purchasing, including agreeing to pay, before it finally says "Hey. You already own this. Do you want to download it for free?"

Not Rob's fault, and beyond his control. This one is on Apple and has been that way since cross platform apps were introduced.

Thanks @wim, yeah, it's still kinda nuts with that.

If you own on iOS, and purchase on macOS, it'll look like you're about to be charged, and then...

And yeah, it's not even an "update", but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • @Rob_Jackson_Music, thanks so much for making all of your releases Mac-compatible.

I think you’re slowly creating your own genre. “SynthSleaze”. Love it. Lean in!

    Concur.

  • Great stuff @egobeats - thanks for sharing.

Also, just to let you know v1.4.0 update is now available (25 additional presets) - iOS and macOS versions are now in sync.

D24 Warehouse Rave, and D25 Zero Gravity are a couple of my favourites.

  • Lovely presets! My favorite of the new preset batch is D1: Crystal Lead and the excellent D5: Halo Keys! Lots of great sounds

  • I could make a full Album just using Analogy8, Euclidean Sequencer, and ring-0-tron.

Why do your synths sounds so neat brother?

  • Just to confirm this was Analog7, but has been updated and the name was changed to Analog8, correct?

The synth itself was always ANALOGy8, the dev just requested the thread name to be updated to reflect the correct capitalization of the name

Gotcha, was it…? I guess I'm getting it mixed up. maybe I’m losing my touch, lol. Thanks.

  • I just call them "Annie" or "aGR, aXS, aSTR, a8". I'm too immature to pronounce analog politely.
