In times of flocks and animated orbits on gyro-multitouch devices I'd like to see less analog style button and fader synths with animated cables.

I'm the opposite - I want MORE! A Buchla type monster can definitely go on my want list.

  • Buchla and NN-XT sampler

An app like CMI Fairlight but for the Emulator series of samplers. Cool to have access to all of the factory sounds that were used on classic records in the 1980's.

me too- I think most musicians prefer the analog control structure- case in point: Rrarrow- if rrarrow had an analog interface with knobs and patch cables- it would be one of the most popular apps- but because of it's obscure GUI- it is very fringe -

  • If Arturia makes it, I will buy it.

@crabman aufx:dub will do sound on sound. I don't have a 301 so I'm not sure if it's the same. there are a few presets highlighting it though.

Not want to go very off topic here but the SoS function is definitely not available in Aufx. It's a very unique function, here is a very good description:

The term"hyperspace building soundscapes" describes it best in one sentence :)

back to topic:i want the music easel. It's already there and looks beautyful. It just doesn't make any sound :)

  • @crabman fun read. No, not the same but you can definitely "hyperspace building soundscapes" with it. :)

  • Yamaha FM7.

  • iOS Yamaha SW1000XG + Editor (20MB Sample Rom GS/XG Sound Module)
    iOS PLG-150AN + Editor (1/2 of Yamaha AN1x)
    iOS PLG-150DX + Editor (DX7)

A Yamaha AWM2 'Soundmodule' with original(EPROM Dumps) classic samples from Beatboxes and early PCM synths like the SY-85 (SY-85 had 6MB Sample Rom).

    All E-MU stuff
Emulator 1, Drumulator, Emulator 2, SP-1200, Proteus series with all factory content.

Beatboxes/Romplers using original licensed EPROM Dumps instead of 'output sampled' stuff that is currently available...

  • After trying out the PC version, hell, I want that Solina V!

  • I want the Cassini delay to be its own FX app.

  • Ooooh! just had another wish em up! What about the Nexus 2 & sound packs VST. Probably be simular to Alchemy. Or Roland Vintage Synth modules of old?

  • Absynth would we wicked.

Definitely, but it's a monster so there'd be no room for anything else!

  • SQ pro-one because I don't have $2000.

  • you don't need a pro 1 to do these sounds, but you know that already

  • I've gotten close over the years with other synths but there's something about the Pro 1's OSC and envelopes. And my teenage crush on Vince Clarke.

He lived locally to me - he used to wear a big flying jacket with the collar up which from behind, made it look like he had no head.

The Pro one was a lovely synth, I nearly swapped my Korg for one once.

  • ^damn you brits and your proximity to mythic electronic music artists.

It does seem really bizarre that the Wasp hasn't made an appearance on iOS yet considering it had a touch screen keyboard. :)

Here's some Wasp love from The Analog Session:

  • @syrupcore Thanks for posting that video of the Pro One. I've got a Six-Trax. Good times.

  • I saw a great gig with Hawkwinds Bob Calvert once, where he was dressed as a pipe smoking Second World War pilot with a flying stick in one hand and a Wasp synth in the other. Occasionally he'd pause from his pipe smoking duties to make an awful noise from the Wasp.

I remember I time when you couldn't give those things away. Tried one once and it was horrible, of course I'd love one now though...

  • @mkell424 sweet. I have a six-trak too. I just upgraded the OS and the sequencer will sync to MIDI now. Guy on ebay sells the chips for $20 bucks.

  • What really amazes me though is that in the digital age we live, the Revolutionary's 'Yamaha' have really fallen into relative obscurity, a victim of there own revolution.

  • Synth1 ,a freewere vst that is a must have...there are thousands presets on the net ,it's light and IMO will shine on iOS world. Too bad the developer never finished the porting...

That's true but what do you mean they are a victim of their own revolution?

Yamaha and Roland are still putting out instruments but neither of them seem to be innovating the way Korg has been for the last 5 years. I might just be missing stuff though.

  • I don't need any more synths right now, i want to see new depth to the current DAW's inline with what's possible on low end desktop/laptops.

When Auria has midi and releases some 'Auria' versions of synths as they have with FX from fabfilter , or Gadget releases an update with audio tracks then my appetite for new synths will be back with a vengeance probably..
