@syrupcore- thanks for the voice programmer explanation, I was thinking each voice did a separate program. It makes sense that this just mimics small variations. I'll have a look at it soon.

You can definitely do extreme variations as well which can also be really cool. One example... try it with a sort of pulsating 16th note bass line and set the number of steps to an odd number (like 7). Make 3 or 4 of them a full bass sound and the rest something as different as you can. When you play the sequenced bass line you'll get different bass notes emphasized at different points in each cycle.
