6 plus or 6 ?

Been out for a while now, what's the consensus?

  • How is your eyesight?

  • My eyesight is 54. 6+ without a doubt. Fits in my jeans and suit pants pockets.

Biggest problem? iOS8, but that's another story.

  • 6+, you'll wonder how you had a screen so small after that... I'm very happy with mine-!
The camera has auto stabilize while the 6 regular doesn't. And 128GB, it comes in handy.
Making music on the go isn't nearly as fiddly, it's much more comfortable if that's what you're into.

  • And all for less than $1000!

  • Ok what do you guys think between the iPhone 6 -128 vs iphone 6+ 64' because of the would you go for a 6 in that case or you still think the 6+ is the way to go?

  • 6+, better machine

  • edited January 2015

That extra 64gigs is so tempting though isn't it arrgh

  • I've been very happy with the 6+

Besides the larger screen/keyboard I especially like all the apps that now do iPad-style landscape mode.

The only bummer is that it doesn't fit into my SynthStation25 ;)

  • Yes, apps like mail and safari are much cooler to work with in landscape, tabbed browsing and columns

  • I have and like the 6. If anything, this is already a little too big. One handed phone operation is mostly gone.

  • I have the six and would agree about size. One handed use is only just possible on the 6.

  • I'm happy with my 6 and 128GB of storage. I think the plus is too clumsy. I already think the 6 feels huge in my jeans pockets as well as in my hand. The best thing is to go to a store and hold them in your hands to know what feels right to you.

  • Go into an AT&T showroom (or Best Buy) and try them in your hand. Even if you don't buy from them at least you'll have some first hand experience. I have the 6+ and it will probably be the last phone I buy for quite a while due to the prices being so high. I used to get almost the same amount of $$$ for my iphone trade-in at Best Buy, but those days are gone now.

Or eat more ---> get bigger jeans.

  • it's not the size of the phone that's the issue for me as I don't carry my phone in my pocket and I've got a tiny 4s right now, I've just always carried everything in bags/backpacks/cases etc.. I'm just obsessed these days with not getting the wrong device for usage…. did that with the ipad 3 and I never want to go though that again lol.

so I'm just comparing the fact that the 6+ 64 and 6 128 are the same price and want to get the one that really is best for making goofy iPhone videos and using as a sound module… wondering is it better to go for the bigger screen and better camera or twice the storage space…. and one big concern is that I've been reading that the 6+ is much better on battery life which is important because I'm planning on making a concerted effort to really get allot of use out of the device.. wondering if the 64 is really gonna get me by?

  • and hey what's the deal with the iPhone 6 plus not being able to do the slow mo video with the front facing camera?

  • I'm a 5s owner and had a chance to briefly A/B the 6 and 6+ at the Apple Store. Both sit quite nicely in the hand, and my fear of being seen holding a license plate to my head to make a call were mostly allayed. The Plus isn't that big.

The Plus is definitely a 2-handed device, but it's got a better camera (for now). So it seems to me the 6 would appeal most to traditional phone users who prefer one-handed operation, but I can see iOS music enthusiasts and photo buffs enjoying the bigger screen of the Plus, especially if they're already used to 2-handing it on the iPad. FWIW.

BTW, rumor has it Apple may bring back the 5 screen size as an option for a total of 3 screen sizes come "S" cycle this fall. Apparently a number of customers actually prefer the smaller screen.

  • and what do you think about the 64 vs 128?

  • I have the 6, and I love it. To each their own, but when I held the plus, it was just too damn big. The best advice has been stated pretty already. Its all about how it feels in your hand.

  • 64 on a phone should be WAY more than enough if you have an ipad. If the phone will be your primary device, then go with the bigger one.

  • how's you're battery life ?

  • Shit. Absolute shit.

  • Way worse than my 5 I had previously

  • That's only if I use it though. If it stays on standby, it seems like it might last a week. problem is, I actually use the Fock out of me phone.

  • see I will too, that's another issue. effectively I'll use it for sample editing, handheld beatmachine mainly seekbeats and elastic drums, a synth sound module, and as a primary video device. and unfortunately for my significant other I'm the type of romantic that will go out to a nice restaurant on a dinner date and make beats at the table :(
so it's going to get allot of use which ever one it is.

  • Maybe you can hook your phone up to one of your nuclear powered fins @boone51 aka Gojira!

  • I have to agree that the 6+ is too big for comfortable one-handed usage (and I have fairly big hands) and although it's still manageable for most tasks, it's probably bigger than a phone needs to be. Thankfully it. The battery life is a BIG improvement over my old 5, and the screen is amazing too. 64GB should be plenty of space unless you like to keep a lot of media on your device. I wouldn't hesitate to get the 6+ unless you desperately need the one-handed operation.

  • nope I don't care about the one handed-ness, i've got a 4s right now and seldom use it with one hand, just don't wanna cheat myself out of the best device, it'll probably be a while before I get another.

  • Just depends on its intended use. Is it primarily for making music, or is it primarily for for business?... and then there are a million answers between there that could sway the decision one way or the other. Ultimately, just like everything else, its on you, obviously. Id totally have the plus if mine weren't primarily used for my work. But still, the 6 is a huge upgrade for me screen wise either way.
