I'll buy an app on sale, but I won't necessarily wait for one - this one looks a bit like a no-waiter.
The Zed Synth manual is a great way to see what this synth should be capable of doing. This synth really seems to stand out among iOS synths for its wide variety of synthesis. MIDI learn for controls, midi bpm clock sync, preset sharing, Audiobus, IAA. It can even be used as an effect. It seems some of the aspects of the synth will require newer iOS devices and the developer has taken this into account so reading the manual may give you a sense of how well it will work for you on your device. Being able to navigate the editing of patches via the signal flow diagram of the synth also seems like a very practical approach too.
even more amped for this after reading the manual
Modulating mallet, can't wait!
+1
It's out. 10 buckaros. Anyone tried it yet?

Before getting this, can you make the keyboard smaller? Or at least scroll it around while holding note(s)?
Only 4'8Mb? I think I have space for this:-)
Mm, time to watch Doug's video again and perhaps any other ones out? I really do wish developers could all manage to do at least a couple tutorials upon release. You might think it would make for much better sales of their apps no?
Here's the developers video also
It is really deep synth but also very easy to get to grips with designing your own sounds. Help overlays tell you what each section is doing. Also works on iphone.
Where in heck did you find the video? I was just searching and found nothing but Doug's . Thanks man.
Yes it was nearly as good as dougs I think. Do you use the polemic or the handheld Flo?
It is way to early for wine so I will just sip my morning brew , Cheers.
Great video and a brilliant synth
Yes this is one of the few synths I will pick up on release day I believe. I usually like to wait for the hoopla to calm down and make sure it is not just the latest thing getting everyone all hopped up, but I do not believe this to be the case here. Patch sharing by email is a new approach no?
This is awesome.
Hi all,
Glad you like the synth - let me know if any questions.
It's been a real work of passion, about 1200 hours, and it's got as many unusual/original ideas as I could come up with. For example the LFOs & Envelopes have a "Convexity" parameter, so you can change their shape. That makes it easy to create LFOs that quickly but smoothly jump from one extremity to another as opposed to just a square wave for example.
The keyboard can be shrunk by setting the number of octaves to 8, but it doesn't disappear completely (I thought it was useful to display the MIDI notes it's playing). Could be a future enhancement.
I look forward to some cool demo tracks - or patches, you can just post them here!
All the best!
Richard.
@RikMaxSpeed Thanks for being around.
EDIT: Also just watched the video and learned a lot (or understood a lot more) about the synth process.
I hope you sell enough copies to buy yourself a Tetra and an Analog Keys, so you can then make versions of Patch Morpher for those synths. I'm not completely selfish, cause then you'd own the synths too!
This is the first 'Synth.app' that has made me deeply consider getting a faster iOS device, both my 1st Gen iPad mini and iPhone 5 struggle with some of the patches
I do like the noises it makes though...
Zymos, that's a lovely idea
I tried the Analog Keys at the MusikMesse last year, it's got a great sound. Supporting the Tetra should not take long at all as it's essentially a 4-voice Mopho.
The Spring Box "effect" can use up to 88 strings, so that's pretty CPU intensive, the app should reduce the number of strings in the background if it sees the CPU load get too high (btw, do set the max CPU to 75%). The relative speeds of the new devices is also scary, the iPad Air 2 must be something like 16x faster than the original! But it should work quite well on the iPhone 5 (I use an iPhone 5 myself).
@RikMaxSpeed
I just played the patches as they came even before taking a look at the settings, thanks for the tip regarding max CPU. Also disabling 4x oversampling seems to help a bit too, but it's still easy to overload the 1st Gen iPad Mini and make it stutter so sooner or later i will have get a new iOS device
I'm trying keep my self under control and wait for the successor to the iPad Air 2...
If you lived a few thousand miles closer, I'd happily loan you my Tetra so you could add support for it!
Sorry to take away from the topic though- congrats on the release!
Gotta love Luke Skywalker's phantom hand! Enjoy the videos and the fact that it's universal too, thanks @RikMaxSpeed
@RedSkyLullaby I see you have your own custom preset: Red Sky Detuner!
Thanks! Yea I'm filling up my US account for this one I think. I've managed to skip quite a few apps lately, even grooveboxes (which I love), thinking my appoholia was under control. But this one is screaming my name
There's quite a few presets by Red Sky - they're all really good!
@RikMaxSpeed
Are there any plans on improving the user preset/bank sharing?
Is there any way to keep 'user presets' separate from the factory presets? I only noticed the red *.

I pulled out my first preset using iFunBox. Yes, I'm a SID-Junkie...
Loving this so far, need to get bigger iPad soon, my eyes hurt after tinkering on the 1st Gen iPad Mini
