But then, how would I use auto-wah?
I have. It helps, but changes a few other things about the tone that makes it sound manufactured. I may learn to like it better over time.
Again, personal preference, and I didn't really want to start a discussion about what the ultimate piano sound is, because there isn't such a thing. and depends on how a particular sound blends into overall compositions. Just not as blown away with Module as everyone else.
@rad3d I took Module's velocity curve and drew one with the upper right line only going about three quarters to the top level. It took that sharp edge off all the sounds and made Module sound a lot warmer for me. It's still not my favorite IOS piano sound, but I can play it now without hurting my ears. Each IOS Piano has its own flavor, and unfortunately my favorite is the iGrand piano. I've had to use everything else the last six months since IK Multimedia hasn't updated for AB. If you mess with the velocity and reverb settings in Module, you might get something close to your flavor of Piano.
EDIT: I just downloaded your WST44F Piano and I agree, it might be the very best on my IPad now! I can see why Module did not do it for you. WST44F has nice "space" between the keys. I owe you for giving me that Piano, thanks a bunch!

Not sure Gadget provides for velocity changes, which is where I want to use it. I also don't necessarily want to change the velocity curve. I'll play around in Module, but if it's not usable in Gadget, it's not going to be useful to me. I've heard that preset changes in Module don't necessarily transfer to Gadget, though I haven't tested.
I bought Ivory IAP for module... Now I have everything which can be used in Gadget and I'm really happy... This piano sounds so good, it even make my songs made with the initial Module piano sound fresher and better...
I'm a Gadget lover ( it changed all my music making habits and workfow... at 36 years old it's something) and Korg makes me happy since releasing it.
Peace
Bump, time is running down to save 20 dollars on one of the best if not the best piano apps on iOS. Plus it's another great gadget fix if you do not have this already! Iap'S are on sale as well until tonight only! Might I suggest flux fx as another app that works nicely with module and it is on sale also! I was not planning on this app right now but damn I saved twenty bucks and it does one hell of a lot more than just great pianos folks and can do them all inside or outside the "Gadgetsphere".

I can relate. I love the dark, rich piano sounds used by the Police on "Regatta de Blanc" and "Ghosts." I also recently reached for a Steinway soundfont in bs16i for a composition with a certain Cop-like sound to it, and was quite pleased with the results.
It's like the Almond Joy/Mounds commercials: sometimes you feel like a bright piano sound, sometimes you don't.
EDIT: @rad3d just checked, the WST44F is the exact Soundfont I used, ha!

What they said.
I decided to grab Gadget and both the extra samplers. No regrets at all.
The temptation to beg/steal/borrow some funds for Module is quite high.
I think gadget will give me plenty of variety without module and I have no immediate plans for ios8. I did get Bilbao and Abu Dhabi though since they were on sale. I'm not sure how useful Abu Dhabi will be for me but you never know.
Is there a way to just have Abu Dhabi play the loops or can you only do it by playing each slice?
Zero hour last minute plea w/management for the release of funds for the 2 Gadget IAPs about to commence. Wish me luck
@eustressor I find putting money in my sock when the CEO is busy to be a wise cumulative strategy. Sometimes it's a real sock, but sometimes it's just the kind of sock that serves the same purpose, but wouldn't be useful for cold feet. I trust yours did not become that way.
And if things didn't quite work out remember the wise words of Victor Hugo: Have courage for the great sorrows in life, and patience for the small ones. And when you have laboriously accomplished your daily tasks, go to sleep in peace, God is awake.
And she's probably checking your socks.
"Is there a way to just have Abu Dhabi play the loops or can you only do it by playing each slice?"
You have to play each slice. If you try to play every slice in order (and it's not a drum sample) you'll hear audible clicks and ducks between the slices. This is annoying.
As a work around you can make 1 very large slice and just play that. But after about 5 seconds it decays. It doesn't seem to want to let you play a full 10 second slice.
TBH you're better off using Bilbao to play up to 16 x up second 5 secs one shots.
Thanks. Abu Dhabi probably was not very necessary then, but why not for $5? If it develops further then cool. If not, oh well. Historic blizzard headed our way tonight so I'll fully explore gadget for the next few days...
I found an article last night on programming the main riff to sweet dreams by the eurythmics, which I've always wanted to get right. Phoenix gets really close (Phoenix? Whatever the one that's supposed to be oberheim-like) pretty quickly in sound.
As I said, this app is fun. Music is supposed to be fun. I think the movie tickets my daughters used yesterday cost more than I spent on gadget...

I can almost always find a use for Abu Dhabi.
I agree. Definitely has a compositional flow that is fast and functional. There are always additional things I wish it could do, but I complete more tracks that start in Gadget than in any other IOS DAW.
@JohnnyGoodyear she made me take off my socks and then ravaged my sock drawer. Even ransacked my LUCKY socks! Things were looking grim. I played the one dignified card left me ... I did the Homer "Marge, the chili cook-off's about to sta-aart" dance.
Made it with 20 minutes to spare
Nice. You know the saying- "how many apps does an Appaholic need to make music? Just one more..."
I do wonder about that very often mrufino.
OK, got a chance to try out the Ivory IAP on a friend's iPad. The 'Soft Ivory Grand' and the Ivory 'Cinematic Grand' do sit in the right space for me, so I went ahead and splurged for it. All of the other versions of Ivory, as well as the stock Ac Pianos, are still too bright for my taste - but I'm much better with the overall purchase. Electric Pianos are good, as well. Other sounds are a bit too generic for me.
Still feel that the WST44F sound font has a moodier tone, so it will still be in my arsenal. May even continue with it live simply for its efficiency with other apps running.
@rad3d Ah. And I thought that 'Cinematic Grand' was my secret alone. Let's keep it to ourselves old man if you'd be so kind...

I won't say a word...
Just got it within the deadline. I am sure this has been answered before somewhere, but when you opt you use it in Gadget, it seems to copy all the sound data across, so it looks like I have the same large dataset on my iPad twice! Once done, is it possible to delete Module and just use it in Gadget?
Are the Emu Proteus sound banks around anywhere? I used to have a Proteus back in the 90s (before it became the Proteus 1) and it was one of the most user-friendly bits of kit I’d ever encountered at the time. Sounded excellent too, but that’s beside the point.

Interesting.
I updated to latest Gadget last night.
I'm on Air 1, iOS 7.1.
Been using it today with an 8 track song. No issues at all.
Just tried a 15 track song (one scene has 10 active tracks going playing something in it). No problems at all flicking around between Gadgets, scrolling etc while it plays. That said a lot of my Gadgets are playing samples (London, Abu and Bilbao) so that might help.
Having 8 synths all playing notes at the exact same time is maybe pretty power use?
EDIT: oops sorry - wrong Gadget thread!
Sale is still going.
Can somebody talk me out the purchase of Module please? ;-) I'm not really into Piano but how are the organs,e-pianos and Glasgow? What focus has Glasgow?Mostly Pads?Strings?Does it bring something new to the gadget table? How many presets are available in Glasgow? What are the new FX i was reading about?Sorry for so many questions
edit:scratch that, sale is over now.A LITTLE too late i am but it saved me money, that's ok as well
Best way to "double your money"...
Fold it, and put it back in your pocket.
Module is an easy pass for me. I know there's something to be said for having things in one place, but I've got pianos coming out of the wazoo. However, I was intrigued by this @Tritonman comment.

Hey guys, how does Module implement the damper and sustain pedals on the ivory? I've been doing some reading but haven't been able to dig up much. Looks like it only has sustain, without dampening controls...is this correct? I probably goofed by not getting this while on sale, but I simply wasn't interested at the time! Gadget has really grown on me the past few days, and has made me reconsider my stance on Module. Seems worth it still at $40, if I can play it like I would a real piano!
