Hi @MusicInclusive, can you make a video tutorial for Aggregate Audio with an Focusrite interface together with iConnectAudio???
Oooh - interesting idea @Sinapsya
Yes - I can - but I'll do that on my own YT channel in a while. I have a 6i6 I can aggregate it with. For fairly obvious reasons I could not do that as part of the official iC vids.
i think I receive it in about 2 weeks, I hope, and i try with my Saffire Pro 26 on my own....I hope it works good :-)
I have had it aggregated just fine with an Impact Twin on Firewire and the 6i6 in the past @Sinapsya - just doing a video of that made me go "oooh" :-)
Thanks, looks for your next video :-)
Uk date yet?
Now we're talking. And if AB states ever responded to program changes...
Interesting. I'll mention to the dev team the thought about making it AB compatible to allow state saving. There are other plans afoot to handle saving / loading different configs, but doing a live change like that would be neat.
Sweet, congrats on the release. I exhausted my music budget for this month but I'll try to pick it up next month if it doesn't sell out and I can get a decent review for it.
I have a hardware synth setup, with an Elektron Analog Four, Microbrute and MS-20 all inter playing and I've been looking for a decent way of running them through Tonestack or another AB-enabled effect. This should do nicely from what I've seen.
I wish there was a cheaper and more compact version of iConnectAudio4+, or a dock version... It's a bit overkill and too bulky for me but it seems to be the only thing that does the things I'm looking for in one unit: charge ipad while in use, usb midi host port for multiple usb midi controllers and powered hub support, 5-DIN MIDI ports, audio in/out.
Something in the videos made me wonder - can I just use that USB host port to plug in a single controller directly, or does using that port mean the whole thing is in "host" mode, and needs a hub...?
I've just submitted three more vids to iConnectivity showing
guitar+mic -> Desktop DAW .... and
guitar+mic -> Auria
(Those two show recording to Live and Auria from scratch in exactly the same way without any need for using iConfig to change any defaults. )
There's also one in the Q that's an overview pt 2 waiting for iConnectivity to process.
There will then hopefully be the following (at least):
Using the iPad as an outboard FX processor from a desktop DAW
Exploring the Patchbay
Exploring the mixer
Exploring the MIDI routing config in iConfig
iPad -> iPad with the iCA4+
Using the iCA4+ for live analog audio
Subject to change but that's the plan :-)
@taroface - I've only ever used the host port with a powered hub. I will check for you and let you know if you can use a device directly. I suspect you may need the powered hub except for devices that might normally draw very little power - like the XKey which can be powered by an iPad for example. But I'll check.
It's a pity the iOS iConfig app doesn't (yet) support the iCA+4. Does anyone have any idea how long we'll have to wait?
this would be a nice when it will be next week :-)
i order one iCA+4 2minutes ago,
YES!
@MusicInclusive how much is the power supply?
i have a 26000mAH PowerBank with 12/16/19V
http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00AWM3MXI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
can i use this for?
hope!
this plus a pack AA Battery for my Roland AccuAmp and i can rock "offLine" for the whole weekend.....
I'm curious about battery powering, too.
@obiwahnkentobi - the power supply is included in the package.
Here's what it says in the manual - which you can also download from the site:
Please use only the included iConnectivity 12V/3A (36W) center positive supply, or you risk damaging the device. This adapter operates over a range of 100-240V/50 or 60Hz, so it can be used internationally with wall plug adapters.
I'd really like to understand how any manufacturer's volts and amps are proprietary.
Thx dont see it there..., looks like it will work with :-)
What are you saying @funjunkie27? Not sure I understand. Are you saying that the "or you risk" bit is proprietary? That isn't the issue. :-) A lot of manufacturers say that - it covers the concern of "I used this multiway from RS (soon to be no more ) and it blew up my gear - I'm suing you" kind of concern. BUT you'll notice, they specify the V/A/W combination and how it is polarity-wise... There's a clue there... ;-)
I just think the statement is comical, since any adapter that supplies the required voltage, amperage, and pin polarity should work. Still I understand there are many consumers that don't understand that sort of thing, so the manufacturer needs to specify it.
Anyone in the U.S. get a shipping confirmation and if so where did you order from? Musicians friend ship date was the 10th (today) but I noticed it is now bumped to the 20th.
At least one iPM member has received one already from pre-order.
It's hard to determine if places received some already and shipped through them all so any remaining orders are waiting on the second batch, or they just haven't received any yet. I would think this would be more likely to happen with Sweetwater orders since they listed them first so I went with MF. (Shhh... Coupon codes work on IConnectivity gear at MF)
I was lucky enough to snap up an extra lightning cable on eBay but I'm sick of looking at it with nothing to go with it. I'm betting those cables are going to be in high demand once everyone gets their iCA4+s.
It is worth mentioning that the lightning cables are only a bit over 3' long. So if you want to use iPad on a mic stand, the iCA4+ will have to be mounted on the mic stand too. Unless these cables would work to at least get it to the floor. http://www.pccables.com/70580.htm
I'm in the U.S., and pre-ordered directly from iConnectivity's site, and mine was shipped Monday, supposed to be delivered today.
Would love to get your take when it comes in...
USB host mode doesn't mean it needs a hub. As long as the controller can be powered directly from the iPad, it should work with the port directly. This one just happens to support USB hubs whereas something like iTrack Dock only supports a single controller on its USB host port.
Right - exactly @shortbus. It may work - it may not - depends on the power requirements.
