We just watched and enjoyed that 808 movie. I thought one of the highlights was when they talked to Ikutaro Kakehashi (founder of Roland) at the end.
Has anyone mentioned Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix? Season one is especially good.
I just watched the Nile Rodgers session movie on amazon. I don’t remember the exact title but it’s once in a lifetime session or something- everyone on it records direct to disc. The episode was amazing. Also, if you listen to sonic talk podcast, then you’ll know who Rich Hilton is, he plays keys on it. I’ve played some gigs with the saxophonist that is on it, he is incredible, but then again, they all are. Plus you get to hear some chic master tapes broken down, which is awesome.
