  • This looks way too complicated for me. I'm sure many will be excited by all this but I want to record music in a simple fashion.

On a side note it's surprising how much background noise they left on the audio of this video, considering who..

  • WOW! Gonna be awesome! Great video, thanks for posting.

  • -drool-

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Show us the sampler ;)

  • Gonna have this vid on replay for a bit. Lol

    Lovely Stuff!

  • Dang yes, can't wait!

There are already a quadrillion of"not so complicated"apps arround,i couldn't be more excited about the first full featured DAW on iPad since i'm already running full productions with a lot of tracks/fx and long arrangements on it.But too much still feels like a compromise to date.

Currently running Cubasis as my main DAW, but I have been waiting for this before switching to Auria . It is kind of exciting I must admit and the improvements look great. I can't wait to give it a go! May have to wait on some more funds seeing how I am presently sinking money into my new Dj set up for this summers relaunch of my business. Speaking of which. TheEurolive Neob15's sound wicked good. I just got the first one in today withe the second coming on Monday so I just sent the left and right channels from the iPad to the Neo and even this single unit really sounds wonderful! I got a new Xenyx 1832fx mixer to go with them that just arrived and I have not even got that set up yet. Gonna be a great summer I think! Looking forward to the upcoming video teasers anyway!

  • Absolutely @Crabman and that's why I said "for me". Was kinda shocked when he hit that button to go to the mixer with hundreds of buttons on it though. Gadget is as fully featured as I want to experience right now (although I wouldn't say no to some audio tracks in there), but I can see how Auria Pro will be like rocket fuel for others.

  • I liked his stand. Auria Pro looked good too ;-) Can't wait! I hope they live up to the pre hype better than other dev's that went this route.

  • Fingers. Crossed.

I'm starting the timer on how long it takes for Apple to buy this and rebrand it as Logic for iPad.
edit: whoops forgot about GarageBand as a funnel to the desktop. shows how much i use it i guess

  • lots very cool. i will be very dissapointed if you price is same a Cubasis

  • Brilliant, thanks for posting. Some really good stuff in there.

Nice :) look forward to seeing this in action, hopefully not just a playback machine

  • Does this still seem like a DAWcstill mostly for audio? Is there one with a happy mix of midi & audio?

  • edited March 2015

@telecode101 The hope and idea is that this is finally that. Now all we have to do is wait and see.

  • I was reminded of that line from Jaws - "I think we're going to need a bigger boat!" Or in my case, a more powerful iPad (and ideally one with a nice big screen...)

  • Looking great! Wondering what ipad/IOS it's been optimised for.

    me too

  • Yeah, I want to see the sampler also. I hope it's not just a player like .. you import a soundfont or whatever and just play it.

I hope it's Intua like. wher you can define a lot of parameters and sample from sources. That would be killer.
That's what I miss in Cubasis.

AFAIK, Cubasis is the other big DAW that does both audio and MIDI

  • We all have our own personal tastes and needs in a DAW, so please take what I'm about to say as it is intended - a big fat IMO

Over the years, I've found that DAWS with clean, stripped down workflows work best for me. I currently use Ableton Live and it's clean, elegant workflow is one of things I like best about it. For some, Live might have enough features. I also own Sonar. The interface of Sonar with its zillions of realistic-looking buttons, and zillions of pull down menu choices gives me a headache and does not inspire creativity. The GUI and and workflow in Auria remind me a lot of traditional linear DAWs like Sonar, Pro Tools, Reaper, etc. Cubasis seems much more lean, and stripped down in comparison, and I find its workflow pretty fluid. I suspect I'll stick with Cubasis.

  • edited March 2015

An interface's look is not a workflow. Editing MIDI fluidly is a workflow, and that's an area where Cubasis needs improvement, Auria is as yet untested there obviously but it's silly to make assumptions just because you don't like the design of the buttons.
