  • What is a "sneck" peak by the way?

  • I think we all saw the zoom issue straight away, (straight away!)

Maybe the handle should just be visible at all times, or a Gadget-like solution..

  • I've been meaning to ask that too @Crabman ;-) ;-)

  • So a Sneck Peak is a mountain top latch? ??? O.o

    :-D

  • The zoom issue is similar to dealing with fades and reducing audio region sizes currently - not so different.

Exactly. It sort of sucks as is on heavy tracks. MIDI notes are going to be even worse I'm afraid.

  • A large screen iPad pro would help with the zooming.

    ...or with Auria in general!

  • Would be great if the Valhalla reverb plug-ins would be available as Auria plug-in. I think they sound great (not as great as Aether or B2) but are light on cpu and not expensive and could run also on iOS devices. For me there is still a hole in iOS for really high quality reverb. I know there are some but they can't create that depth i would like to have.

It's about time Fabfilter built an excellent reverb (Pro-R) or (Pro-RV)
And we'd (Auria) be sure to get it!

PS: Sneck is an Audiobus translation of the Auria word Sneak! Hehe

  • Hmm looking at the Video i am still curious how the workflow will turn out. Basically I am not a fan of dark UI's the Mixer Looks just way too dark in that preview video.
The Midi Editor doesnt seem to be all too intuitive as well. I mean the demonstration where they zoom so Close to a note to be able to actually grab the note handle.

I am currently staying with Cubasis, as their midi Editor in my opinion is by far the best as of now, minus the wild Scrolling issue but I guess they are Aware of that :)

But that's just a personal opinion so, looking Forward to seeing it live.

  • One for sure. Auria is a nice way to get Fabfilter plug-ins for 1/5 of the desktop prices (there is a little different tough between the versions). I hope in long terms this put desktop prices a bit down too. I could imagine people going to buy iOS apps and just record them into their DAW (or use it on iPad itself of course).

I could imagine in some years the iOS prices will raise and the desktop will fall. Maybe then we just buy a plug-in and we choose: AU, VST, AXX, iOS etc.

I think iOS apps are just cheap because iOS users are used to pay just a few bucks for apps while in the desktop world it is a common thing to pay 200€ +- for a plug-in.

I said it before that sometimes i think iOS apps are "too" cheap and if people would be used to pay a bit more we would see more of the really huge instruments i miss on iOS and not just tiny bits of it or "mobile" editions and it will end up that we just get "consumer" tools instead of pro tools for musicians or sound designers.

I think (or i hope) that this is the future. No OS seperating, that all developers can make a living on whatever platform they release their stuff. Does that make sense? ; )

    Really???
My personal feeling toward the Caustic 3 piano roll or FL Studio piano roll.

Kaushion and StepPolyArp piano rolls also good!

Especiaaly the StepPolyArp, One can throw away the note by dragging. Franklly Speaking, I wish Auria Pro to have notes randomization function. Anyway, I don't think Auria Pro will do that. My only hope now is to wait Kirnu Cream Mobile to come!

  • I'm not sure about the darker UI yet. I'll need to use it to tell if I dig it. The midi things seem great, but I don't know how to use any of that at the moment. But, it will be nice to have if I ever need it.

I tried to use ableton live, I just didn't care for it at all. Don't remember a whole lot about it, but I hope Auria is similar in work flow and feel to what it is now, not Abelton. Just my opinion.

Yes but these millions are "consumers" and maybe not interested in "pro" music tools like people here. But then i have no clue about the marge developers get and if they can live from it. Also endless free upgrades are not good for make a living. I just think about the interview i saw from beepstreet and some other developers thought the same (or they said it's a reason to not release an iOS app). I'm just not sure if the app store thing is a good thing in long terms. But i imagine if you get mentioned in the app store or you have a good place in the top..... you can get rich. But then when i see what apps there on top i shame to be a human :D

No one can crack Apple's app. If me, I just simply go to thepiratebay for Ableton Live. Developers here needs good love for music app creations. Sooner, there will never have PCs exist! IOS will keeps winning post-PC era!

Yes, maybe. F.... the pirates! This is the thing i mean if iOS wins... fine. But iOS itself has some problems. If it wins it have to grow to a full OS... then the pirates starts again ;) But for exampel i heard the U-he stuff is uncrackable too. So it's about smart developers.

I'm just (really) a bit scared about an apple monopol... :O

Just stay optimistic about the future, why? ... We're already here. :-)

10-15 years ago it was debates about laptops taking over from desktops. Hehe

There is one thing guaranteed in life...... Change!

Just go with the flow, (not like sheep though) and use what you/we've got and enjoy! :)

In 1 year who knows how it will be?

For (me) right now its all about Auria Pro!

    Well, this thread anyway! :-)

True! ;) All things can change in unexpected ways (...Camel Audio). We live here and now!
My problem is i'm thinking too much... too often :D

Put/change those thoughts into great musical notes! Make yourself happy!

Can you Guys imagine what we will be able to do, with the ability to quantise audio. Wow!

    In Auria... Pro...

  • There was talk about being able to change the color scheme / skins - so you may not be stuck with a dark UI.

Yeah really. I like working with Cubasis, its fast, intuitive and gets me results in no time. I think its so far the best rendition of a DAW on the ipad, because it does away with a few things one might even consider as beeing missing Features :)

Its all a subjective matter after all :) Thats why there is more than just the one app out there :)

The Elastique Pro V.3 warping algorithms are indeed awesome. How i said before, i think even a lot big DAWs (which licenced elastique) are using older versions. I think it's even better than Logic's Flex (not sure). Now include surround sound options as well (very useful if you play and/or do stuff for places like planetarium etc.

Great thing is i just can use Auria Pro and Logic Pro X together ; ) Problem solved!
I mean i have an unbelievable great studio with my Macbook Pro, iPad Air and iPhone 5 at my fingertips. Can't wait for the Audiomux app to finally create my first hybrid (tryed that and failed due to the bad connversations and lack of an interface).

    For Realz!
    @o_imseng

Maybe we have a little too much choice! (Maybe not)

I had to downscale the amount of programs/software I had on PC, down to two, even that is one more than enough. (Reason and FL Studio). (then my iPhone came along)

I'm sure a lot of us here have many apps to choose from, so myself included, wouldn't stick to just one as they all add up on the iOS platform, and with the use of audiobus etc...

But again I'm trying to simplify it. At the mo Auria is heading in a direction I can do this. Just need to learn one good app inside out and stick with it. :)

Yes @Cinebient, Elastique Pro V.3 is great! We will be more advanced than some big Daws! Hehe

  • I also felt i have to much choice on my iPad compared to my iPhone 4 which i used for the first 2 years. I lost control.... started on Mac.... lost control again... ;)
Now focusing on a few great plug-ins and apps which works great together to avoid this. Not easy ;)

  • Hehe, going to get my fix for the day, by watching the vid again. See if there is anything I've missed! :-) :-)

  • The one thing that stuck out for me was being able to choose multiple bus destinations in one go, I was like oooh.
