I agree someway to control more tonal parts would be great, a keyboard, lock pitch automation to a scale?
Great idea, would love to see what everyone comes up with
It sounds thick enough to me when I push the internal master compressor a little.
Hey guys, I made you an example beat using nothing but Elastic Drums. 4 bars times 2.
Excellent point about feel and many millions of released songs use such a combination. The sounds i've heard resemble 8-bit and aliased sounds you used to get from a zx spectrum (although I can see how that might be its charm for some). Is there much to allow manipulation of the groove in Elastic Drums or is that what you are using the effects for?
This is a technique I enjoy using in ableton live so that has me a little intrigued.
There are some great ideas coming out of this discussion.
@Jocphone
You can change the groove a bit via the master pad 'swing' option
It's good at what it does, but perhaps rather proves the case for the prosecution.
Edit: It's an odd one. The sound of this type of machinery is, in some ways, dated or suggestive of a particular time. However, there are plenty of people who are using electronic/digital sounds but don't sound so. I am not clever enough to know why that is precisely. The beat? The effects on the beat? I'm thinking of (most obvious example) tunes by Radiohead/Atoms for Peace etc where the drums are obviously not acoustic, but they still sound au courant which is about as a pretentious a way of putting as I can manage on this first coffee.
There's no FX on the track, except for some slight mverb and some global swing, which has more in common with riding a bicycle on acid, than the Linndrum.
Not sure if your backhanded compliment(?) is calling my beat lifeless? Lol
I added an 'Edit' to try and explain, but fear I begged more questions than I answered.
It's all good. There are some obvious comparisons to Radiohead's the Reckoner, like too many snare hits, but I was quite fond the sound and wasn't about to start adding instruments in its place. You guys probably could have done without the detuned tom, but I was already compromising by not writing the beat inside-out, like a reggae one-drop, so I put it in. I think you really hit upon a point that I was trying to make though which was this:
@solador78 I love Reckoner. It's my tune of choice to dance around the house to (when everyone else in the house has momentarily left town).
Ya, that's why I took your comment to be anti-EDM and not anti-dance.
Hi bsantoro
Here is one of the solution to thick the drum sound! I have Fabfilter Pro G ; therefore, I knew this is kind of layering technique only if You have Auria to do that with! hope this is a good lesson for everyone:
@Kaikoo Learned a lot. Thanks for this.

Dev said it was submitted around the 26th. What are we talking - 5 to 7 days from then? IDK - maybe by the weekend.
@anickt, I think they've had an 7-8 day turnaround for review recently
I have this and love it. Id say however, that you should look elsewhere if you're looking for something that makes 'traditional' sounds. Everything in this, from automation, to the effects, right through to the type of sounds you can use, really point to it being right up the street of those people wanting something for electronic music. The only 'complaint' I have is that its too easy to make something that would effectively drown everything else out!
I've used other drum apps, but this is the first one I've had fun with.
Hurry up with the update pleeeeeaaaasssseee
It's out (Germany)! Fantastic update!
