  • The multi parameter X-Y pad thingy is the bit I like.

Gonna hook up to some Auxy midi loops later for a bit of a noodle.

  • We don't sequence things for rehearsal and we've been using it as another option to play with. Totally useable as a stand-alone. Now with the improvements... Cool.

  • Yamaha, rip the synth out of this. Make it a stand-alone universal app. And perhaps slap a price tag on it. The app is around 140mb or something, could be slimmed down to 1mb w/ the current look I guess.

  • My top iphone noodling tip (using 2 apps plus audiobus):

    • Xynthesizr with Midi pointed at AN2015 (AN2015 inserted into audiobus which gives it background audio)

    • Midi clock pointed from AN2015 to Xynthesizr (since I can't see that AN2015 has midi clock in)

    • Leave the Xynthesizr synth on

    • run a nice drum beat in AN2015 and then start noodling with the synths in both AN2015 and Xynthesizr (e.g. have one playing long pads and the other playing short stabs or whatever)

    • mess with transpose in Xynthesizr live to give you a bit of chord progression to your pattern

    • go a bit crazy and get the "random" or "game of life" thing going with a portion of the Xynthesizr grid - but not all of it - so you still keep a basic pattern going

    • I guess if you wanted to record your Jam you'd put Xynthesizr into Audiobus too. You'd get the AN2015 drumloop too (printed into the AN2015 synth output) unfortunately - unless you turned that off.

  • Hmmm. I'm going to give this dish a try....thanks for write out the recipe.

  • Great sounding synth, cool interface for the parameters.
Seems to have occasional trouble when switching between apps in AB, messes up the orientation & resizes itself cutting off the keyboard & left hand side of the interface - Air2 / 8.3. As others have already said, would be great if this was made into a fully tooled up app as opposed to its odd status of 1/3 app 2/3 Yamaha promo device.

I gladly pay 10$ for this - seven days a week!
Awesome synth with top notch sound and patches!
I really really love Yamaha AN2015!

Anyone managed to get midi out working?

Update: only midi clock works. I can't find a way to send midi notes.

  • Update2 :

I think it's gone from EU App Store? I can't find it even on purchased apps.

  • Thanks @Flo26. Maybe a glitch in my country (Greece). I wanted to find the official / support page on the app description for the midi out issue I have . Then realized the app is gone...

  • Still available in UK AppStore ( iPhone only apps )
