When and how much?
@Segerfalk First of all, nice to you drop by and thanks for the relatively fast replies
Once the SidTracker 64 hits the AppStore I think it's good to start a new thread to gather feedback.
I'm pretty sure I'll find a thing or two to add and if I encounter bugs I'll be sure to let you all know.
Will there be a manual available for the app so we can read what to expect?
(Like are there any pattern-commands to jump into different points in the instrument-tables?, what about looping and transposing patterns when constructing a song?).
What about the live/midi implementation?
Is there a Para/Tri-Phonic mode where the first note is assigned to voice 1, note 2 to voice 2 and 3rd note to voice 3? (This is a pretty cool performance trick used on the Moog Sub 37 but it only has 2 oscillators).
I hope there is also a 'mono' mode where hitting one note will trigger all 3 channels with 3 different sounds
Will there be a 'realtime mode' which is able to trigger/re-trigger a patterns and transpose them based on the note played on the keyboard?
Once I get my hands on SidTracker 64 more ideas will start to surface that's for sure
@Segerfalk Hello Fred and thanks for the introduction. Can't wait for SidTracker 64. Audiobus and IAA intact = fantastic. Any estimate on when WAV output will be functional? Thanks!
It's submitted for appstore review already, so very soon.
Tier 13 = 13USD / 13€ / 99DKK / 119SEK / 9.99 GBP
Sorry, I have no ETA for .wav export yet.
Hi Fred. I was wondering if SidTracker 64 is going to be multitimbral from an outside sequencer. It would be cool to create tracks in Cubasis on different MIDI channels each with their own SidTracker sound. Thanks.
Thank you!
Absolutely, good idea.
There's currently a manual in the app. We'll look into publishing it separately.

Looping and transposing, yes. Jumping to different points in tables, no. We're assigning dedicated wave, filter and pulse tables to each instrument to not make it too difficult to follow what is happening for a beginner in SID synthesis. Still, there's a lot of things you can control per step or per note, as you would with table pointers.
We have exactly this. Press the poly button to cycle between 1,2 or 3 voices input. You can also cycle note input between voices 1, 1-2 or 1-3 depending on poly setting. Playing live overrides tracker output on the specific voices.
Not yet, but there will be a Unison-mode in later versions.

Not exactly like you describe, but you can set loop mode on and trigger different patterns live and tempo synced. Transpose by swiping in the song editor.
Keep em coming! We have loads of ideas as you might imagine, but implementing takes time.
Thanks Fred
@Segerfalk Thanks!
I was mostly asking for 'table jumping' to be able to use different arpeggios on the same sound.
A workaround would simply be to duplicate the instrument and give it it's own table...
Are there any plans to add an extra 'SID' to SidTracker 64 and thus expand the number of voices/tracks?
Most important now is to get Apple to Approve the App so we can get our fingers on it
@Segerfalk
Hi! I am also interested to know whether 6 channel SID is possible in the future. I guess it's down to just how intensive the SID chip emulation is.
Also, are both chips (6581 & 8580) emulated?
Exactly. We have plans for a live input arpeggiatorfrom the keyboard/midi controller, so that would cover the arpeggiator part better than any tracker did before, but it's still in development.
Not at the moment. It would require a total makeover of the GUI as well, so do not expect it in a near future.
The code is very effiecent. The big work would be to fit 6 channels in the editor. Possible, absolutely.
Only 8580 for now, but 6581 filters will be implemented.
It will be implemented, but not in v.1.
We're almost done with the AudioShare implementation @Samu , and regarding the .wav-export you can record in e.g. garageband and export .aiff for uncompressed audio. @Proppa
What do you guys say, how important is .wav export for you? As it is now you can export .m4a or stream via IAA or audiobus.
@Segerfalk regarding using SidTracker 64 with IAA, does it work as IAA-Instrument or IAA-Generator?
It would be nice to have multiple IAA-Generators, one for each voice and one for all voices
I think wav is very important. I would like to have the ability to export to AuidioShare.
I like to have an OP1 for iOS :-)
I'd just like an OP-1' anyone got one they would like to swap for some stuff, actually has any one got a MicroKorg they would like to swap for a Mininova, or something similar, I'm in the mood for something different
@Segerfalk Exporting as .wav is de-facto standard in most iOS apps that export audio.
Some users may even request 'export-rendering' at variable sample-rate/bit-depth for use in other apps that support it.
AudioShare support will be sweet, and well, standard iOS-Filepicker would have solved this and added additional options for export destinations (iCloud, GoogleDrive, DropBox, AudioShare etc.). AudioShare already acts as an iOS FileProvider.(Why didn't I think of this earlier).
All I can say now, is 'Hurry Up Apple' so we can get our fingers on SidTracker 64
I can swap an unreleased v1 of SidTracker 64 for that mininova
IAA-Generator for all voices. Separate for each voice is on the wishlist.
