Android can do this as well since years. It will be interesting if and how developers will include this. But i will not upgrade my iPad just for this feature. They say post-pc bla bla..... not with still a smartphone OS on powerful tablets...... aaahhhhhh..... rant over :)

Seems like it would best be done with new apps. Retrofitting old apps could be a challenge. We'll have to look at the API.

  • Split screen on Surface Pro is pretty good.

  • Is it gesture based? If so then that may be more of a headache.

  • Apple Music! ;-)

Come on old man! It's the 21st century. ;-)

  • If you were answering my question JG thanks. Haven't been watching, only reading the ticker-tape here.

lol I thought because it was under my post and with the exclamation point I thought JG was talking to me.

  • @knewspeak No, no. Just being an arse. Rule of thumb: Ignore me on almost any technical matters or things related to girls/Indian food/Sylvia Plath/abstinence etc.

  • Cross-wires on the ticker-tape! Ha!

  • ios 8.4 is out June 30th

I mean all this splitted views you can do within an app if the developer let you so. It would be indeed great to play live with 2 different music apps..... well without iPad Air 2 no way :( Or using ThumbJam and Soundprism at the same time on the same device to control my AU's. But i still miss really a multitouch OS X. Sadly i'm sure Apple will eat up Microsoft and in some years iOS rules the world...... Cyberdyne meets Matrix :P
And a ton about "consuming" music but NOTHING about creating with these devices. So they don't care.....

  • I really think the multi screen is about the Air 2 having double the RAM. Android tablets and the Surface have always had more RAM. The iPad always won the speed test however ...

Well, they did say that even kids who make music in their bedroom will be able to share it on Apple Music. So there might be SOME kind of model for that that's interesting.

  • It's been pretty uneventful, but I'm actually quite interested in the Apple music announcement. A new platform for sharing music could be a good thing.

Another "facebooked" soundcloud eh' . It could be great but for some reason i'm scared that Apple takes over everything and goes customer only. I want pro software which they stolene me (Alchemy 2). Next step they make a new Coke :)

  • Quite pleased I didn't postpone my Air 2 purchase for the Pro now...

  • I've started transitioning back. I'm no longer completely satisfied with iOS as a complete solution. I'm using an iPhone 6+ for my job. It is basically my own phone to do with as I want, but I have airwatch for some work protected things like work email and calendar. Most of my existing apps that I bought for my iPad 2 work fine (although I wish Cubasis or Auria worked with it). I don't think I'll be upgrading my iPad to another one. I'll use my iPhone for sketching out my ideas, and I'll use my home computer and existing hardware for finishing up. I left my Windows laptop for the ultimate portability iOS offered, but the extra heartache just isn't worth it. I don't think I will be using an iOS device solely for my work anymore. It will remain a part of things, but not the complete solution.

  • Had low expectations, but thought there might be a snowball's chance they would mention some incredibly cool new synth integration into something or other, but I guess they aint done with picking the meat off those Alchemy bones just yet...

Which pro?....... ;) But there is still a chance in fall that this mystic device comes to life.

  • There was one positive thing, on the presentation slide one of the things were "Audio Unit Extensions". Well, at least I think that's a positive thing. Right now, using Cubasis or Auria (Pro) etc with synths via IAA isn't really a working thing. Ideally we would want it all to work just as it does on the desktop/laptop, having the synths/effects open up along with your project in your iOS DAW, recalling all the parameters for everything and so on, just as it does in desktop-land. Hopefully this AU thing means it's all one step closer to that

  • Well let's hope for pro on iOS X, who knows catching upto OSX may awaken Apple.

  • Then again they'll probably have a new gen of Mini's and MacBooks running on iOS soon, with no OSX on.

Ack, then what would we use to code iOS apps? :-)

More expensive MacBooks or Pros. Lol.

I saw that too and now i want to know as well what that means. Not sure if it has something to do with Audio Units like in OS X. I doubt.
