iFunbox works fine for me on 8.3 but when I tried 8.4 ifunbox stopped even shared docs access for now. I don't really need full sandbox access for most apps but I prefer using iFunbox to transfer lots of files than iTunes.

I didn't test for long but when I tried couldn't even access shared docs folder in Ifunbox on ios 8.4

  • It was @Samu who's reported it. Maybe it will vary between devices/ifunbox versions.

  • FYI I've got iFunBox v1.6 running on my MacBook Air running Mac OS X 10.10.4, iOS8.4 on iPhone 5 and iPad Air 2.

I can access the same content as with iTunes but it's easier to browse the content using iFunBox. It's also easier to transfer folders of files. iTunes 12.2 has yet to appear in software update so can't say anything about that yet...

  • I tested on a mini2 on windows 7 x64 ifunbox 2.95 and couldn't access all the usual folders but didn't try for too long before reverting. I have itunes 12.1.2.27 installed.

Bit of a dealbreaker for me as I always use iFunbox too.

So I tried the same multi-app setup in (latest) Audiobus on 8.3 and didn't get the same glitching behaviour. Not conclusive, could be a false positive etc

But enough for me to stay off 8.4 for now

Definitely enough for me too. I can run a crazy multi-app set up live and it works close to perfect. I also hope this is a false positive or I'll start to think Apple are sabotaging they're own platform. Maybe Microsoft or Google have a man on the inside? Tim Cook?

  • yeah I hope it's just an anomaly, it seemed fine with general usage, a couple of apps in Audiobus etc But needs more testing from others.

  • ipad3 ios8.4? anyone tried and is it better than previous ios8 versions performance wise?

  • In Cyprus, 3 min download. Then 2 min install. No probs, the GarageBand Update. Still no probs on Air 1.

  • Would of been nice if Apple put GarageBand in AudioBus input now. It's a shite DAW

  • I don't think Garage Band is shite. It's just it is intended for beginners and users who favour simplicity and quick results.

    Same here with mini 1.
As for glitching - pretty probably.

  • So far, 8.4 is WAY better than 8.3 was (iPad 2)

    In what way? Stability? Speed?

  • Yes, please elucidate.

  • Mainly Safari and just basic operations. Before I updated to 8.4, just typing in an web address that I'd visited a thousand times would often take several seconds before it recognized it and autocompleted. I'd check my mail and at first none of my older messages would be there, it would just be blank for half a minute.
I stayed with iOS 7 a long time, but really wanted to use an iOS 8 only app, so updated to 8.3 a couple of weeks ago, and it made me hate the whole iPad experience, everything just got clunky. I'm not hating it anymore...

  • They also improved iBooks! It's more responsive and everything loads faster. Anyone else out there an iBooks fan?

I did not like it in iOS7 but really quite like it in iOS8. nice to hear it is improved further

Oh yeah, iBooks is where I have all of my manuals. I'd like to start finding pdf sheet music, but have not had time to research that availability.

    I'm also on iPad 2,
I'd be interested in any reports you have on 8.4 with your music apps!
    Thanks...

  • I hope the reports of improvements are right, but I can't explain my performance drop on ipad mini 2, unless it was a freak occurance... I presume ifunbox can fix windows access in an update

  • I've just updated my Mini 2. So far so good....

  • I'll wait for iOS9 before I update my 1st Gen iPad Mini. It's a non retina so it will get a lot more storage-room since iOS9 doesn't even install retina resources on a non-retina device :)

My iPad Air 2 will stay as updated as it possibly can, but I do avoid beta-releases of iOS...

  • During the previous update cycles, on the phone, I had troubles with the ringer/mute, it was quite a relief when an update was repairing those.
This time around I am anticipating again, with calls disconnecting frequently since 8.3.
In my case too, no Ifunbox sharing, when confirmed, will be weighed out easy therefore.
Regarding the multi-setup glitching question, there appear to be crackles, but that might be nothing new, and clearly still waits for a conclusion.

    Sold!

  • Uh oh, now I'm responsible if you don't like it!

  • They rearranged the default music app in a way that takes some serious getting used to. After a day of getting acquainted with it I'd say it's way off the margins for even risking while driving. My car stereo is integrated with iOS browsing but now the option to shuffle by artist is gone. It's now Apple Music and Recently Added all up in yer face. It's my personal opinion that this sucks.

Can't be much worse on my iPad 2 than 8.3 is....

Ooh, yeah, that's the reason I was afraid to go beyond iOS7. If it makes you feel better, my iPad 2 doesn't run great on 7 either :) Basically, it's fine playing most of the major music apps, but trying to do anything together w/o glitches, not so much.

I will update my iPhone 6, however...got all kinds of error messages trying that earlier.

Now I've got a stupid red dot telling me to update to 8.4 ... funny it didn't happen with 8.3. I thought I had set my ipad not to get such notifications.... (I'm on 8.2).

Even worse is that they preloaded it to my iPad again without my permission,f*ck you apple!

Since i also play some games from time to time i won't install it,there are reports that - as always - it breaks stuff that was running properly before (Bioshock on iOS for example).
