It was ok at first, but now my iPad Air 1 feels slightly sluggish on all apps. Feels like when your PC needs a hard drive Defrag.
Loosing 3G connection all the time with 8.4. Cellular data appears to be broken!
Transient coverage issues only, hopefully:/
No issues or slowdowns experienced by me during casual use of iOS 8.4 on iPhone 5s and iPad 3.
I know. No matter how much you tidy up your iPad the red dot always remains. Bloody OCD!
I'm visualising a tree. The tree has a long branch overhanging a lagoon with loads of chattering birds perched on. The first bird dives in....how's the water? Temperature? Predators? Currents? Etc, etc.
I read elsewhere people are getting battery issues on 8.4 anyone experiencing that ?
All I know is that app sharing stuff on iFunbox aint working for me anymore...
I updated my Air 1 almost immediately because I wanted to try out Apple Music. Apple Music craps out fairly regularly but most other things have behaved. Haven't noticed any difference with Gadget or Cubasis. Yet to try other music apps I own. If there is anything specific you want testing, and I own it, then give me a shout. (I don't own Auria however)
Yes please. Loopy, samplr, turnado within audiobus. I will find it hard to update as my setup works like a clockwork.
Ah, I only own Loopy HD of the three you mention. If no-one else offers I might be persuaded to add some oldies to my arsenal this evening..
Completely understand your reticence to upgrade if you do live work with it.
I am
Yes, battery issues here too
I'm thinking about downgrading to 8.3
Is there a site that I can download back to 8.3? I wouldn't be surprised if Apple do 8.5. If not then they may of done this so we all have to go IOS 9? Then the circle of broken apps start all over again like IOS 7 went to 8? Sorry if I feel a bit paranoid?
I also noticed that Cubasis CPU now shoots up a lot now, where it didn't too much before(iPad Air 1), & iPad Air now gets very hot, as the Battery drains quicker than before.
That's how I got into trouble with my iphone 4; ios7 was a total disaster.

You just need the 8.3 .ipsw file which you can find on the web and then you can use iTunes to restore from that image. Lots of tutorials out there...but basically backup your data then shift click on restore iPad and select the 8.3 file.
Cant believe they've managed to screw up 8.4 since 8.3 was a step in the right direction. I think this situation will only get better in the future if they have a separate pro version of iOS (if something like a pro ipad is released) so that it's not all optimised to play Angry birds. As long as it's a do everything consumer device this will always happen I fear...
Thank you Mr Carnbot.
I'm going to have to pay attention to the battery issue. I updated last week on Air 2 and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.
You can't downgrade to 8.3 anymore. Apple stopped signing it.
Wow, they never stop. Signing so fast as this.
I can see how Apple is forcing everyone to upgrade. Bad bad....imho
I'm trenching at 8.2. So glad Some folks here advised me to it.
I'm having issues with Auria and Cubasis, but at least ive found a workaround. If I launch Cubasis or Autia first, while connected to my UCA soundcard via CCK, then I can't hear any output on the UCA headphones. If I then startup Audiobus, I get the audio error message and it asks me to reboot. Which I do, them if I laugh Cubasis or Auria via Audiobus, then everything works including headphone output on UCA.
Weird but this never happened before even while being on IOS 8.2.
So no sooner that I get the Apple pop up telling me that IOS8.4 is ready to install, I get all these issues with Cubasis and Auria.
I am seriously mad at Apple and I really think this is my last Apple product purchase.
The fact that Apple stopped signing 8.3 isn't uncommon. They usually stop signing the old version of IOS about a week after the new one comes out. That's how it's been for several years.
It's not like Apple is forcing anyone to upgrade, either. I'm still on 7.2. Debating on whether I should upgrade to 8.4. The only driving factor for me is the apps that don't support IOS 7. It's not Apple that's motivating me to upgrade; it's developers.
@Sonicflux, are you sure? I didn't think they stopped signing so fast before.
(Looked it up, it was four weeks in the switch from 8.2 to 8.3. Still pretty fast.)
@Diode108 You're right. 8.2 was open for a long while after Apple released 8.3. I wasn't really paying attention to that window at the time. IOS 7 signing closed less than two weeks after they released IOS 8.
https://ipsw.me/updates After briefly scanning that list, it looks like they stop signing the previous version, generally, within a couple of weeks. Although it appears there is no hard and fast rule. My original statement was off the cuff, and I should have verified it.
Still, though, you were pretty close. No one should assume they'll be able to go back once they move forward. Good rule of thumb would be if you just want to try it out, try it as soon as it's available and be ready to go back quickly if things seem uncool.
Glad I went back so quickly now, that's a terrible policy you should always be able to downgrade in case something stops working...
Has anyone been able to use ifunbox with windows and 8.4?
I think it's safe to say that there has never been an iOS version where people on the internet were NOT saying that.
@zymos So true. I've seen many people posting that their battery life is amazing after 8.4.
Mine seems to have improved on a mini 2. I generally look for 10% an hour as a benchmark and I'm currently at 82% with 3hrs 11mins usage with over 22hrs standby.
