  • woohoo! I doubted it was going to happen but finally my Audiobus app collecting is complete. :-)

  • @Zen: No problem....the good news, it seems all is running fine again...and....yeah i find my own patches again. In the load song...my fault. Just the favourites are gone but that's O.K.
So thank's for that amazing App!!! Go now for producing......:D

  • @Ryan I knew that would bring you out of hiding.

  • Wonderful update! Every note or chord plays seems like an inspiration. Just not enough time to make all the inspirations into full tunes! :)

  • I just downloaded it for the first time. Thought I had plenty of synth apps already, honestly. This little powerhouse just proved me wrong. What a great app. Bye bye money. It was fun while it lasted.

  • @mgmg4871 Yeah, not really hiding, nope. Just busy developing more crap. LOL now if i didn't have to go to work i might get to test it like the rest of you. lol

  • Yesterday I invested (?) in Stepolyarp. It's great controlling Alchemy. Shame it's only on the iPad really

  • @ZenPunkHippy

Thanks so much for this great update! I really love it so far, but I'm having an issue. In the previous version Alchemy used to copy to the pasteboard, but now when I hit copy in Alchemy BeatMaker 2 is showing a message that the pasteboard is empty. That's a major bummer!

Upgraded to Pro and registered for the additional free packs. I Want More! Reading between the lines it seems as if the Mac/PC versions of the sound packs are larger? And the same price? And if I get the free PC player and buy the packs on the desktop I can use iTunes file share to load Alchemy Mobile?
    Anyone confirm my many assumptions?

    Edit 1
Not the same price. And the ratio of $$ to number of sounds looks better on the Mobile.

  • @K_Evo1: I think this is because Alchemy copies to sonoma pasteboard and BM2 pastes out of general pasteboard only. If you copy to AudioShare, you can copy to general pasteboard there and then into BM2 (not really what I would call workflow...but it works)

  • Mmmhhh...same problem now! Before the update i copied to BeatMaker...fine! But now it seems there is only sonoma pastboard support...that's not good :( because BM2 is my DAW!

  • Why not just record straight in using Audiobus?

  • @Martinj: Alchemy used to copy to both the Sonoma and Intua copy/paste standards, now it only copies to the Sonoma standard. I don't have Audioshare, so what I did was record each 16 bar Alchemy track soloed 1 by 1. It's really a PITA, but somewhat got the job done. I hope this is corrected in the next version for BM2 is also my main DAW.

For some presets i need all the cpu and can just run Alchemy. That kills a bit my workflow. I hope it will be fixed. (I wonder why it's now just sonoma).
I like to play most of my parts live (so i can't split it into some parts) Most of my recording are at least 3-4 minutes! Too long for NanoStudio...and i also havn't audioshare!

  • @K_Evo1 - I don't have BeatMaker so can't test that but I'll find out about what type of ACP is supported in the AM update. In the meantime, suggestion to use Audiobus seems OK!?

@TedBPhx - all of the Mobile sounds started out life as Alchemy presets for Mac/PC. The Mobile versions are specially optimised for iOS.

The full version of each sound lib for Mac/PC requires a huge amount of time + work to build / release (many months per set), which is why the price is much higher.

  • THIS IS A GREAT UPDATE...and yes...it does sound better somehow. :)

But...yep...there appears to be no copying to general pasteboard.

The Audioshare workaround is a good one...quick and intuitive.

Cannot over estimate how useful Audioshare is to anybody creating music on iOS.

  • Have to check out audioshare.
Indeed it seems also that i can't connect Alchemy with MiniMapper via midi out...but it worked before. Anyone an idea? I would like to control MiniMapper with Alchemy but i can't?!?

  • @ZenPunkHippy: BeatMaker 2 uses the Intua general pasteboard. Audiobus will do the trick for now, I suppose. I hope you're able to resolve this ASAP! Thanks

  • Figures I gt home from work at seven, get the wife and kid out the door to work at 8 then fell asleep on the couch, so it dropped like 15 min after I fell asleep haha but waking up to its nice :)

  • @Ryan That hiding out comment was a code to try to get a hint on what youre working on. I figured thats what you were up to. Lol

  • @JMSexton I was wondering where you were. Ha ha.

  • @ZenPunkHippy: How do I access the rest of the drum sounds from the desktop libraries I've added to Alchemy Mobile? I only have access to 16 sounds it seems. I remember there being several octaves of sounds on the desktop and on Alchemy Mobile.

  • Automation on the remix pads. Nice. Was that always there?

  • When you're playing an Alchemy drum loop, what does the Loop button next to the Exp button do? It doesn't seem to affect anything when it's on (and coloured blue) but I'm probably missing something obvious.

  • @Michael_R_Grant - It doesn't on the drum loops, it dos on the drum sets it affects "velocity"

  • edited April 2013

He's talking about the "loop" button next to the "exp" button. I haven't messed around that much yet with it so I dunno either what it does.

Edit: Maybe this is it (from the manual)...

"Copy will place an audio render of the current track on the clipboard, ready to paste in to another application. Use paste to place a copy of the audio clipboard on to the current track. When loop mode is enabled, the part will automatically play back with the song."

  • Oops sorry

  • Just wanted to say thanks for this great update and for those responsible for the factory presets. They sound amazing when connected to my studio sound system.

Looking forward to experimenting with all of the possibilities Camel has provided in this great app.

  • Wow. Just now listening to the preset "Soundtrack-Underground" and thinking this is very close to what I have been working on for my newest tune. Now I gotta change it up a bit so as not to be too close to this wonderful sequence.

    Great job for those responsible.

    EDIT

Loading the next preset ("Trance-Prisoners") crashed Alchemy.

Audiobus continues to push me on buying apps...
This one was on the list for months.
I knew about it as it's a famous app, but never had a chance to play it.
    Got the Pro version. Amazing!!
Congrats to the programmers and sound designers.

What's the total size of all 9 additional packs?
The Pro version fills 574 MB.
