@ChrisG Thanks, I'll try that out. I wonder why the Loop option is only there when you're on a loop preset if it relates to audiopaste!
@Everyone - there is an update to the Pro content file today, which fixes the missing Pro projects. That was my fault for creating an incorrect archive structure. Fortunately the app can now be used while downloading in the background, so it should not be too annoying. Sorry about that!
Also Himalaya Vintage is now available as a Mobile sound library. Lots of analogue synth presets with an old skool vibe in this one Some of the basses sound particularly fat n squelchy
@Michael_R_Grant - the loop option is for auto playback of the loop. Otherwise it would require precise timing of note on / note off to trigger the loop for the full length.
@Keebo - the Trance Prisoners project should not be causing a crash, not sure what the problem would be. If you know how to grab the crash logs from an iOS device it would be useful to send them to support [at] camelaudio [dot] com.
Peace,
Andy.

Why don't I see Himalaya Vintage...I have all the other preset packs...
Try pulling down the menu to refresh the library list.
Hmm thanks @ChrisG ...thought I did that after updating all my packs just for fun but may have cut it off by exiting the app thanks again
Many every single pack is so good and packed with awesomeness
The app is really awesome! But i have (another) dumb question. Where can i turn of the metronome while recording. It's very important for me. Damn i can't figure it out! Please someone help.
Agree, @JMSexton . This is a very deep little app once you start downloading sound packs. I have picked up the cinematic, voices, dubstep, and of course the pro packs so far (goodbye gift card). Incredible sounds out of each one. Cinematic may be my favorite right now.
I have a ton of respect for @DerekBuddemeyer and his opinion earlier was spot on. A lot of the sounds are ready to go right "out of the box". You can tweak them just slightly and make them your own quickly and get back to the business of being creative. Very nice for people with ADHD like myself that can get lost in the knobs and switches sometimes. Alchemy has replaced three other synths for me so far.
Great app.
Has anyone else had any problems with distortion when using the new 4 track recorder in Alchemy? I noticed several people on the iPad Musician facebook group have mentioned it but I don't think I have heard anyone here say anything about it. More than 2 tracks on my iPad 2 32GB and it becomes distorted
Maybe all the fantastic sounds have been the main focus for most people?
on the update is write: iPad 3 - iPhone 5
@ZenPunkHippy @SpookyZoo thanks for the info!
Now I thank myself for choosing the 64MB iPad.
Downloading!
@Galexyexplorer - the metronome cannot be turned off while recording, but we're aware this will be a problem for some users and will probably add an option for that in a future update.
@AlterEgo_UK - I think the distortion problem is most likely CPU related. It happens with lots of tracks on my iPodTouch 3, but the same projects run fine on an iPad 3 or later. Increasing the latency usually helps, if you have the Pro version. I'll check the Facebook group for more comments.
The missing projects update was that already released (never got it here)?
@ChrisG - I'm not sure why it hasn't showed up yet, but my colleague also confirmed that. Could be a bug in the app, or it might take a day to "register" with the App Store - not sure but I'll find out.
Ok, thanks ZenPunkHippy.
FYI, ZenPunkHippy is my favorite screename of the week.
@ZenPunkHippie
How do I refresh the Pro pack file? I purchased the upgrade yesterday. Tried the restore purchases button but it said none needed. How do I tell if I have the fixed file you mentioned?
@ZenPunkHippy:
O.k. thx! It's just because i would like to record 10min. (or so) parts in "original" in Alchemy itself and at the same time with Audiobus filtered trough Magellan FX f.e. The problem is the metronome click is also recorded then. (beside the problem that mostly i like to play without metronome). And i like to play 999bpm strings with a metronome (or melody etc,) in my head. In this case the click is like noise. The biggest problem is that i like some presets with f.e. 120bpm because the fx sounds best then but i record them with a melody in my mind with 90bpm or so. It's very very difficult (for me) to record a 90bpm melody while hearing a 120bpm metronome...
However! Hope this (and some other few things) can added in a future update.
But how i said it's still my fav. ios app...and i have over 50 music production apps
So why not just turn down the Alchemy preset to 90 (swipe gently on the number to the left)
No way, this was just en exampel! What i mean is i often need the preset in a different bpm! And i use a lot of different speeds for presets in one track! So if i need to record the preset in 120 or 140 or whatever bpm but the melody i play with this preset is about 90 (or whatever). All i would need is a silent metronome. Because i want the fx, delay, reverb etc. speed of the preset in 120bpm but i play the melody in 90. When i slow down the preset it changes everything!
Can you save your alterations to a patch? If not, is the workaround to save a blank "track" (ie. with no recording in it but where you've fiddled with a patch) and then load it up?
There is currently no way to save the sound settings of an individual preset. Track -> Save saves the MIDI performance. I was thinking today it would be cool if setting a favourite had the option to name and save with the current settings, but I'll have to convince the developers first ;-)
Was wondering whether the synth is now comparable to the PC/Mac versions in terms of its power ?
Eg: Can it now play all the PC/Mac patches/sounds ?
edit I seems the same as before but still a lot of the Taste of Camel Sounds/patches work.
@ZenPunkHappy Being more of a rock music guy, this is the first synth I've bought (well the app was free, but I bought the Pro IAP) and I'm totally loving it. Completely aligns with my perspectives on how music apps should be. Respect.
Anyone tried it with BM2 and had problems ?
Nearly an hour in and still can't figure out how to record the notes I play on Alchemys keyboard into BM2 to edit and correct.
Selected BM2 in Alchemy as midi in and out.....BM2 doesn't even see Alchemy.....selected any source and BM2 as an output....BM2 sees Alchemy but won't record the notes ???
Midi bridge crashed my ipad....then after fiddling with the combinations still nothing...
IOS midi bliss....
Anyone help me out as I seem to have IOS midi dyslexia....:)
edit finally sussed it out it was the fact I had Alchemy set as an input and output on BM2 as soon as I deselected Alchemy as the output it recorded.....I take it all back Intua xxx
Ahhhh.....just thought I would try it with Cubasis and I was recording within a minute....seems to be a BM2 issue...
