iMPC Update...
...no Audiobus.
Oh well...
Comments
Yes, sadly. There is no real good drum app on the bus until now. Molten: no good audio quality, dm1 bad midi, funkbox no good user samples management.
It is as if Retronyms views Audiobus as competition to Tabletop.
Is it ignorance or stubborness?I mean, besides AUDIOBUS is the thing that made all this
possible,it is a business too.How can anybody,anywhere ignore this?
Audiobus IS the way!
Christian
Not even audio copy. Guess I'll take the loss and delete this one for space.
@Mgmg4871 It has audiocopy but its cleverly hidden after you choose export sequence close the SoundCloud thing then on the little rectangle on the screen is a audiocopy symbol you can click its not very well placed like they tried to hide it. I used ifunbox to snag a few sample :0
Yeah it does Audiocopy/paste, dunno why they hid it tho...I wish we could clean out unused audio files that's been exported, all audio copied stuff is also available in the iTunes sharing thingy, and I really dont wanna find a computer with iTunes just to clear all the garbage. Please add a file manager or something Retronymns.
@JMSexton & ChrisG thanks. I guess they did do a good job of hiding it. Fooled me. Ha ha now I have to redownload.
I would have never found that.
No I had to google it and read somewhere else where it was, its like they intentionally try to hide it
AkaiPro is a shitty company. We've been waiting for years for them to update the MPC5000. They have been ignoring us like the plague untill they announced the MPC Ren. Guess what, since the Ren has been released they are gone again!
It all went down south since Numark took over. They have released a lot of garbage while they are capable of good things like Ableton Push.
I really don't understand their business/marketing model.
no audiobus,no impc for me.Simple as that.
We should push/support this guy:
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/beat-machine/id505825861?mt=8
I asked him a couple of months ago about audiobus and he was interested but no update so far.
If everybody send him mails or post into the kvr thread...maybe he'll do something.
Audiobus could have a massive impact on his sales i guess.
Akai is a Joke, look at their track record with the synthstation app and sad to say the iMPC is slowly following .
I hate it cuz it has great sounds and could be a great app and fill a current hole in the drum market but nah, we already got their money...
You got it right, they already got our money.
@JuniorPops - Hyup, I love my Synthstation25 to pieces, but deleted the app loooong ago as it sucks.
I deleted it too. It's a shame because it sounds great...
I also deleted it a looooong time ago , it sure have some good sound , but the App is Garbage,it crash like crazy
Yes it is finished, we are just trying to add JACK support right now so it can be released along side audiobus.
I contacted beat machine team and that's their response. So grad the app, it could be an alternative to iMPC.
Hello,
I am the developer of Beat-Machine. Check out our facebook page, I just posted some photos:
https://www.facebook.com/PrimitiveDigitalSoftware
Audiobus support is finished, but then suddenly this cool thing called JACK came out! It's pretty neat routing midi around. I was starting to add virtual midi, but I'm not sure if there's a point if JACK just sends midi IN/OUT anywhere. Sorry for the delay, it's just hard to keep up with all the great developments in iOS music when also adding our own new features to Beat-Machine and developing 2 new apps.
.
I commented farther up saying I yanked all the samples from it with ifunbox and I did it for launchpad too. Thanks tho! IFunbox is great isn't it
@dreamless cant wait you have a nice app in the making. Care to share what the other two apps you're developing are?
@dreamless Nice app. One question. I'm trying to play kits from a controller but I get a beat after I release keys or pad. Is this a setting I'm missing?
I noticed this also when I controlled beat-machine from my MPC. I fixed it by switching my MPC to one shot mode instead of note off. I programmed beat-machine to mute samples when receiving a note off, but some controllers seem to send another note on when releasing a pad.
I've also started making a guitar synth audiobus effect, and only yesterday(!) started experimenting with game music emulators.
Some MIDI implementations use note on, velocity 0 instead of note off.
@dreamless:great news, thanks a lot.I'll go and grab it now just for supporting purpose But you should fokus on audiobus and virtual midi first imo because"everybody" is supporting it right now and jack is still a lonely island.
The App Store never gave me the update notice. So delete and re-install. But when I went back to the store it gave me the Buy instead of Install button. Went through purchased->not on this iPad and all was fine. Pressed the cloud button and installed the new version.
Besides the great sounds one aspect of the iMPC I really like is the responsiveness of the pads when I hit them fast with two fingers. Some app's pads give up but the iMPC just sings along. Audiobus would make it much easier to incorporate but I'm not going to give up on it, yet.
The pads on Beat Machine or not as responsive.
Maybe far fetched but tableflop and akai could have left the bugs in there so you can only use impc with table flop if you export a finished track??
anytime I've sequenced an impc pattern in tableflop and then copy/pasted that impc audio file to cubasis or bm2,
its unusable..has artifacts and glitches.
anytime ive used impc as a stand alone app and created a 4 bar beat to paste into
audioshare.
I get a file with start and end points missing and big gaps of nothing(no sound) in the file.
I've mailed retronyms and was told to reboot my ipad.
No mention of 'known issue'/'we can reproduce this'/'we're working on it'...sorry??
The latest impc update crashed as soon as I re-installed it.
The latency of the pads on beat-machine depends on the latency option in the settings menu. Setting it all the way to low gives pretty good results but greater CPU usage.
@dreamless Thank you
