iMPC Update...

Comments

  • How long a wait for the update

  • Less than a month I'd say. It takes apple a while to approve apps from small developers. I started virtual midi and clock sync, but maybe users would like an update with audiobus support sooner than the other features.

Yes, you could do the AudioBus update and the next update with the other features

  • @JMSexton what format are the iMPC samples when you pull them out with ifunbox?

  • After you open impc.app I think it's in a folder named "samples" there's a few (60-80) in there but then there is another folder named (Devine) that has an obscene amount of samples in .wav format and labeled verrrry nicely

  • Nice. I've been holding out hoping for Audiobus, but really only want it for its samples since I've read great things about them and don't really need it for anything else with beatmaker and other iOS/Mac apps, just didn't know of an easy way to get them. ifunbox solves that. Thanks!

  • Hey Matt got the samples, thanks for that tip

  • Haven't tried this yet but am assuming that rinsing the impc of its samples and dropping them into audioshare/bm2/triqtraq is straight forward??

  • I funbox copy the samples to where you want them, then I use iTunes App Sync and put them in Beat Machine. It's about 1300 samples in total.

    Ta-ras..

    Good man JP.

  • All credit goes to JMS. And in case you haven't figured it out it works with any app that has samples. I copied everything from NanoStudio and iMaschine and a couple others to my MacBook. Very handy.

I also grabbed Novation Launchpad, iMPC, and Drum Loops HD and put them in Dropbox so I could deleted the huge apps and still have the samples. Stuff like Sampletank and a few others are diff file formats and encoded so can't do much with them but iFunBox is great for putting new presets and stuff in apps or samples in your fav apps too

  • Can I get a retrieve samples for dummies tutorial on getting samples from impc into funkbox?

  • Funkbox the app or iFunbox the program?

  • I guess you mean iFunBox... DL the program and install it. Plug iPad in don't open iTunes. Go to the first tab in top bar, then go to apps (can't remember the exact folder name) in the left side. It will bring up a list of all icons, I don't choose the file sharing folder on the side but the one above it but I don't think it matters. Select iMPC, double click the icon, then inside of a million files ipad folders you should find a folder named "Samples" I believe and I side that there is 60-80 samples, select - drag n drop those into a folder on your comp, also in the samples folder is another folder named "Divine" that's where the majority of the samples are. I think between Novation Launchpad and iMPC I had 1100+ .wav samples n loops uploaded to Dropbox then you can open in FunkBox app if you want :P two birds one stone!

  • Thanks Matt and JMS

Lifted the impc and dropped it into audioshare.

  • @JMSexton Thanks. I was totally confused. Thought you were talking about funkbox. Lol. Got it now.

  • dreamless any news on AudioBus update

  • edited May 2013

I wanna post my ultimate iMPC loop....
I really like this app :)

  • @JuniorPops I can submit the update to Apple this weekend. Audiobus works, and I have finished virtual midi and clock sync. I'm just going to rearrange the interface for iPhone 5 and submit it. JACK support will have to wait because people really want audiobus now haha.

  • Great to hear!

    Dreamless,hello
I bought your app last week
Loaded my own kit/saved it but when I started the app today my kit is no longer there??kit loads but pads are empty.??

Also, when I select play in background and load another app,I end up hearing glitchy feedback..

  • @commonstookie There is a bug that I just fixed that causes the kit to load incorrectly if there are spaces in the file names of the samples. Check that and get back to me so we can rule out any other bugs. As for the glitchy playback, it could be the cpu simply maxing out (it does that with multiple audio apps). Which device do you have? That also sometimes happens when the sample rate of Beat-Machine is not at 44.1 and another app takes over the audio session. The new app either can't play at the current sample rate or Beat-Machine gets forced into a new one.

  • Ok,will give it a go.

    Thank you.

    Ipad2/16gb..

  • @dreamless Do you have a updated manual for Beat Machine? I'm looking for a tutorial for using midi sync. Btw thanks for update.

  • @mgmg4871 There isn't too much to it. You only need to make sure that midi clock ticks are being sent to beat-machine's midi in. Verify that your other apps are sending midi messages to the midi channel beat-machine is set to in the settings menu and that clock sync and start / stop messages are turned on. It is set to midi channel 10 by default, and your other apps may be sending on a different channel. Also, what apps are in your setup? I might have them or i could pick them up so I can test the setups that people are using and make sure there aren't any problems.

  • @dreamless I've only tried in Cubasis so far.

  • @ Dreamless
...Thanks for your work! Just bought beat machine and a tutorial on YouTube would be great. I,d love to understand the quantize functioning a bit better. I suppose when I turn down quantize all the way it is still going at 96 because I still feel it quantizing a bit. Is this correct?

  • Yeah I left the quantize slider as a subtle shift in the notes because I was afraid users might think it was odd if they were able to turn quantize so low that the beat was completely out of time. I can adjust the sensitivity of this slider so it isn't so subtle anymore at extreme settings with everything in between of course.
