Sugar Bytes Effectrix is a app difficult to handle,

Patterning is banging it on the fly on AB.

    Bingo!

As a younger man it was mostly my experience that banging it on the fly was more often than not full joy.

  • @eross it's still rolling out on schedule! (that means, yea, you gotta wait till midnight)!

  • Being a west coaster, I'm practically the last to get to use my own app!

  • @benkamen How 'big' is the Patterning app once installed?? (Ie. does it 'extract' all the kits on first run and how much additional space is used?). I've got around 8GBs free but some apps will have to go...

  • Good question. I'm running low on space as well.

  • It shows as 213mb on my device.

  • does patterning allow you to nudge individual hits forward and backward and if so in what increments?

All iPad musicians should have one!

I hope you haven't gone to bed yet. You know we're all expecting all the details on this! ;-)

  • @samu the initial workspace is copied on creation, i think that's about 80mb.

  • @kobamoto not at the moment. Cool idea.

  • @Seangarland Thanks, I'll be cleaning out some of the other drum apps as later and store their samples in AudioShare...

I'm glad you like the idea , it amazes me how small stuff like that can be so transformational to the sound... I'm pulling my hair out over wanting this app and having to upgrade my os to get it.... and I have quite allot of hair lol

  • What aps you recommend for this.

  • @Musikman4Christ I usually extract the samples from the *.ipa packages on the computer.

Just rename the *.ipa to *.zip, extract and find the samples inside the app-bundle/folder.
Works for most apps, some have encrypted archives that are extracted on first run...

actually best take this moment to make it an official request and increments wise, if it could have an option of 'free' and 'snap' that would be so cool. ... I'm imagining being able to midi learn the hits in a pattern to some knobs on my controller and move the hits around while the pattern is playing.

  • I'm curious on how it handles midi, I mean one 'circle' could be used to play the bass using an external synth, that is if the 'tuning' of the step actually sends different midi-notes.

3 more hours to go here in Sweden... :D

  • @samu yea there's an option to enable midi pitch automation. it's off by default for drum samples that use notes to trigger different samples

  • @benkamen That's cool, I bet I'll can come up with at least a few more additions once I get my fingers on it :D

  • I don't even have it and I already appreciate the thought that's gone into it, we need more of this kind of ethos in iOS there are just a few

  • So one can trigger anything not just drum samples?

  • @benkamen You're killing me here with your timed release ;). Could you choose an Eastern time zone for Canada at least? New Foundland time? Toronto?

  • @RJB the availability setting only allows to set the day. So it rolls out by time zone. :) Don't worry, it'll come soon enough!

  • So I gotta stay up 'til 11 to get this tonight and get very little sleep as I have to be at work by 7am tomorrow...or I decide to wait 'til tomorrow morning.

It should be an easy decision, and yet...

  • Will it be as part of the bundle, please?

65 Drum kits now, it can updating itself? No idea how kits can be added to Patterning?

My Air 1 shows 203 MB for Patterning space.

  • @kaikoo -- I have my ways

Midnight 4 o'clock wake up and see this thread, so I can comment on a bit!

I don't know what it is the Auto-pitch untill I use the 'Coarse tuning' to draw on the circle! Very nice to have different notes on just one ring of the circle, So I had a play with Animoog to hear very nicely the melody on just 1 out if 8 circles.

  • I didn't expect to hear back from you @Kaikoo! I don't think I can hold out to midnight, but I'll have it first thing tomorrow morning!
